hybrid atv quad project and finished pics crf 450 trx 250r

man, i wish people would stop using the trx frame for a 4 stroke conversion. i have a few trx250r's and cant find a damn frame that hasn't been ahcked up or made for a 4 stroke motor. i have turned a few 400ex frames into hybrids, but a 400 frame is a dime a dozen. the r frame is getting very low on stock if ya know what i mean.

@boxingboxers the crf450 motor is four stroke but inalso don't think it has a counter balance so It might vibrate more than the two stroke

you dont have a problem with osculation from the engine, or "bar vibration"

i know with a 2 stroke dirt bike motor on a quad frame it is a hell of a vibration.

well i never really had to mess with the tires, the only alignment issue was with the sprockets and i used a laser level to align them.

Maybe in you little fagget dream world they are but the truth is that they are out dated and stupid thinigs break on them that shouldnt, i loved the 2 stroke power but hated the vibration gas mixing and constant shit it gave me. So with that said a well maintained 4 stroke is more practical and to me superior in every way. So before you call me stupid realize that i am the one who is not afraid of looking up some specks and checking my valves once in awhile and changing oil often.

Yea i just had to bend my fender bracket back all it did was make the fender a little closer to the tire. But no big probs.

sounds cool. its been holding up real well but i havnt ridden that much lately. Id say probably 25 hard mx hours are on it with no cracks in the frame or anything.

I hated my 426. It was a beast to start cold and once engine was hot was even harder to start even with the hot start pulled. And it ran hot as hell even with a pwr radiator.

I have a 250R roll design lobo II chassis and I put a YZ 426 engine in it and it is a pain to start. Here's the fix.....Hot Cams stage one cam. It has a auto decompressor. I left my decompression lever from the dirt bike on it and it really helps to have this if you flood it out and you need to kick it over real easy and fast. But that cam made night and day difference. That's the only way to go. Just thought you might be interested. Any questions ask..Nice quad

Nice job on the engine mounts. Looks clean and strong. You should post up some video from your dune trip. I'd love to see it it action. I just finished a similar project: a 2001 Raptor with a DRZ400 engine. It should be a fun ride.

actually i paid 800 for the engine carb and electronics. and i think for the steel, radiator, exhaust, and various parts from the hardware store it was only about 500$ so like the total build cost about 1300, and i know you cant get a good 450r for that plus i think this quad already loooked sexy lol.
