  • I agree with usislam, today's music is manufactured bs. The singers from 50's,60's were true talents.

  • @fairdealdadaman This one was done in 1970. I was surprised to see that he was the only singer. Back then it seemed that most singers were in groups that did snazzy dance steps and wore funny colored look-alike suits. LOL

  • he sound like theat dude from the stylistics

  • Just saw him in concert about 2 wks ago at a soul revue and he sounded great.

  • Saw this on PBS and was just stunned at Holman's performance of it!! I nearly teared up at the end when I heard him close by hitting all those notes and then

above all else, his emotional gratitude to

the Lord Jesus and to his audience. He was acknowledging that he knew his ability to do what he did came from God. That's how I feel when I use the musical

talent/gift He's given me. Keep up the good work Eddie!

  • I loved this song back int he day...just went to my 35th high school reunion..these songs comforted and edified many of us!

  • Have you heard Barack Obama sing this song. (Search Barack & The Singing Obamas)

  • I just looked at it. Great job Pete...you could post it here...

  • You are an ass

  • I'm not quite sure what a faggot is. However, I love everyone as GOD loves us.

  • You know: everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, my comment was not based on what the song meant. I was speaking of the comments he made after he sung this song on PBS. If the song was about what you said: SO WHAT. May GOD bless you.

  • eddie holman stood for something, in a time when black men weren't allowed to date white women. He was truly a pioneer

  • He was so thankful to the LORD. He gave GOD all the glory and honor for his voice. I love this song.

  • He was so thankful to the audience. You dont see that nowadays. It made me cry.

  • Gave me chills!

  • Eddie had two great songs "Immune to Love" and "Singing Love Songs by Myself Lately". Can anyone post them here?

    Thnx

  • wow unbelievable

  • i came

  • The video is short but wonderful:)

  • Where I come from in Southampton, England a band called Brownhill Stamp Duty (60's/70's) had Hey There Lonely Girl in the UK charts around the same time as Eddie. Front man Rick Brown didn't sing it, instead Bass player Beau sang it as his falsetto was virtually the same as Eddie Holman's. This has stirred up great memories as I also used to sing it. By the way Eddie has recently been performing on cruise ships, he was ordained as a minister recently too. Can't believe he's still got it!!

  • i saw eddie at the kimmel center in phila two months ago..hes better than ever!!!

  • aaaha Eddie Holman has probably got the highest falsetto of male singers of that era over Russell Thompkins jr Stylistics maybe even Barry Gibb BeeGees...i think hes a minister now which is probably whyGod gave him extraordinary talent. luv Eddie.

  • What happened to the beginning of this clip ?? Only 1/8th of the tail end is shown ???

  • yeh great song great voice but the full video would have been nice

  • fantastic but i wish somebody would post the full version of eddie singing this song plus vid

  • I saw this performance on PBS and Eddie 'brought the house down!' After 30+ years the singing quality of his voice is still excellent. Thanks for posting this video!

  • nice song
