it was only a few days back i learnt of his recent death...and i was am am still in shock..i'm apalled as well that the sad demise of this truly gifted, rarely matched, inspirational and influential musician did not get the media coverage he deserves...i'm a newseditor and i don't recall a mention in any of the leading news media...i'm sure his fellow countrymen did....his death is an immeasurable loss for music as a whole.
@fecalfoetus His body is dead, but thank God you can still hear his soul resonate through his music. You can experience a whole life time's worth of emotions listening to one of his song's. These song's seem to bend space-time. They tickle your brain neuron's. Ha,Ha
to acheive such ecstatic empathy with the mechanics of the mystic astral and spiritual bodies, is only acheived through active dynamic concentration upon the Divine, not mere passive listening or playing. This sort of passionate attention in meditative listening brings down the nectar of devotion. Haribol.
This sounds great and all, but that high pitch hissing in the background is driving me crazy.

When I listen to raag Shree it always reminds me of our beloved and most respected Khan Shaheb.
We were fortunate to have him as one of our honoured Patrons of Surdhwani. He will be sorely missed.
But I know that the Emperor lives on through his eternal and divine music.
Thank you for posting this special raag for the connoisseurs.
