So glad I found your site on you tube! I'm Mexican married to an Indian and I know how it's difficult to try to combine the foods from 2 very different cultures. Love your recipes!
Omg!! I love conchas !!! My sister lives in Houston and everytime she comes down to Miami she has to bring me conchas .... Now i can make them .... Thanks for the recipe!!!! Ummmm que rico with a cup of coffee ...
I really love your vids but this time you really hit me hard with your joke since a famale family member grew a huge cancerous stomach tumor which makes her look like she's about to give birth..:(
I love your videos. I'm just learning how to cook so they are a great help. Thanks for showing different types of dishes and deserts and drinks...they actually don't look complicated as I thought they would. From where did you learn how to cook Mexican food?
great, man, seriously your every guys dreams. unbelievable!! I wish all Girls now days knew how to cook as good as you, just a few and are hard to find, all they want is just drive thru food, sad to say but true, keep it up and post more videos, there great. Rudy
Well, after some searching, I found your website with the full conchas recipe. Maybe it would have been helpful if you had posted that info here?? Anyway, I'm looking forward to making this, because I'm married to a Mexican, too. (P.S. I tried to post the website, but for some reason I just keep getting an error message)
loved the recipe for the conchas, and letting ppl know about the unofficial rule regarding pregnacy questions. here's my story:
went to subway (trying to be more heathy and lose weight) well i walked in with my husband and the lady behind the counter said , "wow, you look ready to pop..when are you due?"
i said , "im not pregant , im just fat" and turned and waited for my husband in the car..
WOW I am so happy I found ur site! I am a new to be mother and want to cook these amazing Conchas for my husband and family. I am mexican but we always bought our pan dulce from the bakery. Thanks so much. Will let you know how it goes.
mama, let me just say; you have cheeckbones that are to DIE for!!!! as a drag queen i envy your bonestructure. we have to create our's lol. i was fucken craving this shit to make at home-OMG!!! easy as hell thanks toots
Thank you for your wonderful videos, especially this one for conchas. You remind me of a very young Diane Keaton - especially your feminine but strong voice, your graceful, slender arms and the way you stopped in the middle of this video to share a "sudden" etiquette lesson, tinged with a blip of nervous laughter. You might want to watch the movie “Annie Hall.” I think you’ll see what I mean. You are a delight! Thank you for sharing your talent, your wit and your mien!
Can you post the ingredients please??? It would be nice to have a list of the ingredients....and as far as I know you can add food coloring to the sweet. You do a good job and I am proud that you make some Mexican food :D
I would appreciate if all ingredients were shown or listed prior to putting them in the mixer. It sure would make it easier for us "novices" to give it a try.
It is hard to follow you while you talk about other subjects non related to the recipe.
Oh well, just a comment.
Come on get over it! ... someone call you fat... do not let it bother you...
hank you so much I made this for some friends and they thought I was an amazing cook lol When I was little I always remember getting so exited when my dad would bring home pan dulce from the panderia. My brothers and sisters and I would fight over which color topping we wanted.. I now can go back to my childhood and also make this for my family to keep in our culture and traditions. Better then the panderia actually. Gracias :)

0006 minutes Sunday, March 28, 2010 WOW!!!!! Those Lovely Conchas 08:54 Look Tremendously Better and More Tasty than the ones we buy at the local Panaderías here in Acueducto de Guadalupe (( Mexico City )). They reminded me of the Beautiful Conchas they prepare in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Nice Video. By the way, Conchas are also known as "Camelias" —but this is something that you already know. ¡¡¡¡¡Viva el Pancito de Dulce!!!!!
thanks for putting this video together, and I hate how rude some people can be on here! I am curious to try out a recepie for conchas and this will help me out allot!!
@Lildrummer02 for chocolate Conchas all you have to do is use Cocoa Powder instead of flour... For example, if the recipie says 4 cups of flour, for chocolate flavored you could use 2 cups of Flour and 2 Cups of Cocoa powder, if you want less chocolate flavor then you'd use 3 cups of Flour and 1 cup of Cocoa Powder.
@caliprincess510 for doughs you always have to use speed 2 and you have to mix for about 10-15 mins....the more you practice the more you'll learn to see if the dough is ready or weather it needs more flour or more water.
@lataiwanesa I'm not an expert , as once I tried making these and they didn't come out good , but from what I understand the dough not rising enough usually means either bad yeast or bad kneading , with bad kneading being the problem most of the time. Getting the consistency of the dough right is key to the dough rising properly, as well as covering it and letting it rise in a warm place. Hope that helps some , I'm going to try and make them again one of this days.
Thanks for touching on the subject of the "not to ask question", I was once asked that too, and I said I was when I really wasn't. I was at the store and the person was a stranger.......so who cares. As for you my dear friend, you are gorgeous and the person who asked that needed glasses.......like terribly needed glasses. You are a beautiful woman! I personally love your style. Modern mom yet classy.
It's good to know I'm not the only one that gets asked this. Thanks for the self esteem boost. As moms we can always use a little boost, not sure if I agree with everything you said, but still it was very kind of you.
you have got to be kidding me? girl have to have Mexican blood running through your veins? you just didn't marry in to it lol....my God you are amazing...I would be 800lbs if I lived in your house lol....awesome!! thank you for sharing.
You always make me Laugh. I think there maybe a chance Hollywod is calling. We need a Mexican woman comedian in the world. Do me a favor when you are famous don't forget us little guys here on youtube.
