  • Any word on when this update will be pushed?

Right now I can't get the Panorama3D feature to work on the iPhone 4.

  • Is it just me or does multitasking eat my battery life

  • Hahahahaa check this idiot he wants us to be big enough suckers to pay 119$ for an app. GROW A BRAIN DUMBASS. no app will ever be good enough to pay 50$ or more for that matter.

  • @philtography01

Navigon MyRegion only costs $29.99. What size is your brain?

  • Engadget got the first unboxing. :p

    youtube.com/ watch?v=y4KKAM5QFRo

  • how do you multitask with ios4???

  • I don't Iike how they have chosen to implement this at all. I would much rather the call run in the background and navigator run in the foreground with the voice commands OFF. How frustrating will it be to hear the caller and the voice commands at the same time. How many times will you have to say "can you repeat that?" or worse "Can you be quiet for a minute. I can't hear my driving directions."

Clearly they weren't driving in traffic in an unknown area when they came up with this...

  • It's not legal to drive a car and use hands to operate a handset or browse the web in Safari in much of the United States. You would have to have the phone docked to a console, in which case you probably have turn by turn directions already without using the iPhone.

Of course, if you have a passenger and it's their phone, you're good to go.

  • @ArtStone For demonstration purposes, he's using his hands because he doesn't have a docking station. Besides, he used the speaker feature, as most people would use when the phone is docked. Also, he's demonstrating that the multitasking works with the app he's presenting. I'm not affiliated with the company at all, just to let you know. Your points are valid and quite annoying at the same time, but this only occurs in some states. People will still use the app despite the laws.

  • ^*^ Yo ppl, cool no cost l-pad 0n mine profile

  • @MusicalElliot i was wondering the same thing lol

  • nice, finally, hopefully there will be a tool to enable multitasking on an iphone 3g...

  • Why on earth would you want to continue with voice instructions during a call? Surely the instructions should be muted automatically. Rookie stuff from an inferior navigation company.

  • Get a life peeps I tell you I been retired for 2 years know but I'm thinking of going back you guys never work always on these dog dang phoney come get to picking some corn in the fields you rascles ain't got not means to by this fincing things

  • Should optionally allow user to pause the audio from navigation system before answering the phone call and during the phone call.

  • Wouldn't it be annoying that the voice direction continues when making a call?

  • haha you talk like aaaanold

  • is this filmed in a bathroom? whats with the horrible audio?

  • look on my channel for offical iPOD TOUCH 4G !!!

  • @bluejic Its iPhone 4 dumbass. You could atleast promote your channel by actually getting the product title correct!

  • @jakeleewillis No actually! Look on my channel, before you start criticizing "dumbass". iPod Touch 4G!

  • Sounds like Arnie!

  • look on my channel for offical iPOD TOUCH 4G !!!

  • Gay

  • Build-in android navigation on 2.2 Froyo does this much better.

  • he's german :-)

  • NEW ZEALAND VS. ITALY GAME HIGHLIGHTS ON MY CHANNEL

  • I think if you're driving and using your iPhone for navigation and and someone needs to use the web to check something, A PASSENGER should do this while the navigation runs in the background. The person multi-tasking should not be the driver - jeez.

  • it's funny how his phones almost dead thanks multitasking :)

  • dislike this fucking disgrace video

  • Deine Videos sind schlecht! Muhahaha

  • Deine Videos sind schlecht! Muhahaha

  • That's fucking retarded and pointless, who wants to hear the directions when calling?

  • @Astug18 Uh - DUH. What if you're blind and you need to HEAR the directions, stupid. People always overlook the disabled.

  • @raymanbrint if your blind you wont be driving ?

  • @raymanbrint haha, would you be driving if you were blind?

  • @onlymini I'm not sure what I would be doing if I were blind because I'm not blind. It's always very difficult to judge those "would you, if" questions because situational circumstantial changes everything. I'd like to think that I would do everything I can to make a disability like that limit the least amount of things I do in the run of a day.

  • @raymanbrint Trololololoed

  • this better than the tom tom app?

  • hahahahaha the shitest idea..

  • il mio omnia hd lo fa da un anno è mezzo questo ahhhhhhhh

  • THIS IS SO FUCKED APPLE HAS BRAINWASHED US ALLLLLLLLLLLL

  • What the fuck is this craze about multitasking. Nokia has been doing it since 2005...

  • coooooooool

  • @ 1:00 should you really be checking the internet while driving...ESPECIALLY when driving while using Navigation??

  • I saw so nice video ! "How to hack facebook in 30secs" here : /watch?v=R9OFXTnWB5M

  • How did he know I was talking to my partner?!

  • "Isn't that cool?"

    NO ):

  • andy dies in the end of toy story 3. your guys lost for not watching it earlier!!

  • its not multitasking, its fast app switching, unless it the music streaming apps, but who wants to hear directions while on a call

  • What she wanted to say ?

#LOL Why u started saying bye

  • os4.0 hasn't come out yet right?

  • @luismg2009 Na comes out the 25th of July.

  • retarded

  • fail advert

  • haha! that's pretty bad. glad i've got a pre. :D

  • @Dumbduck44 Do you even have a HTC Evo from Sprint? I have used HTC Evo and let me tell you something. The battery life dies insanely fast! it dies out much faster than the iPhone 3G or the other Droids. And another thing, Sprint offers 4G network and I have never seen a 4G network in action before. Highest i ever seen it was 3G. All my friends who own Evo have witness both of these. Honestly, I think the Droid Incredible from Verizon is better than the Evo

  • @mriexpert alot already have

  • Comment removed

  • Or you could, I dunno, buy a decent phone that allows you to multitask out of the box.

    HTC EVO FTW! xD

  • That was dumb. u wont be able to concentrate either of them. Pausing the app for a brief period till the call ends and resuming with directions would have appropriate.

  • I'm curious. If i buy the app, will it come with updated maps or do i have to buy the updates? Thanks!

  • "Thanks for watching" - no problem :)

  • I wonder how many apps will be updated on Monday for multitasking

  • Hahaha....Android MAPS Navigation Is Better!!!!!!!

  • the iphone 4 is actually just a 3GS with a new case and that not all of the stuff they say is on it is on it , you can tell because this guy claims to be a iphone4 developer, but the phone is not even out yet.. so he clearly has built software for the iphone 3gs.. all you apple fanboys are getting fucked again. meanwhile, i'll be living like a king with my android

  • @ryanlaing The Software Development Kit(SDK) for the iOS4 has been out for months now. To develop for the iPhone 4 he needs the SDK and an emulator for the iphone 4(this is included in the SDK.) Developers have had everything they need to develop for the iPhone 4 for months, so it is actually a legitimate iPhone 4 application. Don't go around telling people that they have no idea what they are doing when you obviously don't know the first thing about developing for an iPhone.

  • Moreover, as on the bottom left corner of the display there is the ipod icon, why you didn't put a similar function to access the phone instead to shout down your software when is needed to make a call?

  • Hi Ben, could you please explain who is caring to watch the name of the caller during the phone conversation, while after answering should be so helpful to get back the map on the monitor?

  • its really amazing that Apple didn't have multitasking for three years but ppl still bought the phone.. lol.. I really laughed throughout the whole video since I have been doing this on phone for almost two years now.. have to give credit to applefanboys for sticking with apple...

  • @np231 apple had multitasking from the beginning. i have always been able to do other things while listening to music or receiving emails.

  • If we double-tap our home button all the time for multitasking guess what part of our phone/iPod is going to stop working? Gee, I wonder if Apple will fix it for free...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ha ha Ha ha.....ha -_- I may just stick with 3.1.3 and ProSwitcher if this is the best that the dim-witted devs at Apple can come up with.

  • Other phones have been doing this for a while...

  • That's possible on Symbian (e.g. with Nokia E71+OVI Maps) for more then 2 years .. SO WHAT'S THE INNOVATION HERE?

  • Thanks, i have download this app fromm ddl warez!

  • will you be able to listen to music as well and still have the navigation voice?

  • Come and checkout my stupid and maybe funny videos.I hope you laugh

  • Good Job!!

  • german can't speak english haha

  • @xxTomRippenxx english people can speak german?

  • @xxTomRippenxx most of them. but they aren't native speakers like you!

come on try to speak german like a native speaker.

you wont be as good as him!

  • its about time we see this on the iphone! but still, dam its a good job!

  • ios4 does not completely support multitasking, only apps compilable with ios4 multitasking support supports multitasking check this link for more details.

    error808.co.cc for more details

  • buy my shit! it's cheap! oh sorry i thought i was in a room full of applefags.

  • "You just double tap the home icon" ...as he proceeds to bang on it eight times.

  • That would be funny if you could make it your own voice do the navigation. I'd steal my friends phone and for left and right turn, I'd replace it with funny things, so when he is on a call, in the background it would be like "Rape Ghost..." and some funny sex sounds :P

  • Ok. People, this sucks. I'm sorry, I have an iPhone, and I love it, but this application annoys you so much. While you are recieving a call, and you answer, the voice navagation speaker speaks at the same time disabling you from hearing the person you are on the phone with. This is a bad idea.

  • @TomenGage1 agree to that ! i think a feature which kills the application sound output as long as you are on the phone would make sense. and if someone rally cannot drive without navigation... i think this person should not answer phone calls while driving :D but 2 voices at one time is really a pain in the ass

  • wtf? how on earth can you listen to two voices at the same time. it ruins both! omg...

  • GET TO THE CHOPPA

  • @banido that's austrian

  • Like a car, where u can drive, while u drive..

  • ????

  • first of all while driving its NOT SAFE talk with phone

  • What the hell?

This didn't show anything your company created, nor would I want voice over during a call.

    Lame.

  • FAIL :| Now you want to ..drive .. and not just listen to the person who are you talking to ..but also to the nav ? And the car will drive on autopilot or what ? Pay attention to the road people

  • it makes no sense to hear the navigation sounds during the call... i hope i can swithc off this function

  • Warum redet der nicht einfach deutsch? XD

  • soooooo german :)

  • Its ARNOLD's COUSIN!!!!

  • This is super dumb. The map needs to be re-displayed after you answer the call so you can SEE the upcoming turns with the sound muted

Looking at the call timer on the screen and the nav voice talking is so distracting on your phone call and you will probably miss the turns anyway.

The way you set it up MAKES NO SENSE!

  • 1. Why the hell would anyone want to have the voice directions while on the phone trying to have a conversation with someone else

    2. Why use Safari while driving, not safe.

    3. Why even use a phone in the first place in the car?

No wonder there's so many accidents and deaths in this country. This is just pathetic.

  • Good Job iphone, you could now do something us WM users have been able to do for 10+ years

  • "Now turn right.... You just hit somebody keep going".

  • And You wonder why there are soo many accidents in America, can't wait for this.

  • I like the demo and all that but its the wrong way around. Navigon screen should stay up during the call, and the call should be sent to the background (using the Apple process). Then with full screen interface the audio can be managed effectively and silenced during the call.

  • @pinacoladasaremmm I have the same opinion as you.

  • The default should be that the Navigon voice drops off when a voice call is received. Drivers can use the screen interface during that time. Make it switchable at the very least, but the default should be no GPS voice during a call.

  • Because driving and browsing safari is real safe

  • @ChilliTeardrop It is if you're a passenger.

And someone once told me that people do get walking directions & don't drive everywhere.

  • @ChilliTeardrop i guess that's why they call it Safari! =D

  • @ChilliTeardrop Safer than when you drive and put your make up on.

  • Guys WTF! Have you lost it? What you want to hear while on the phone is the PHONE CALL and OTHER PERSON TALKING and NOT VOICE INSTRUCTIONS. In this case you want to hear the phone call and SEE THE MAP. Oh god, you should be fired for displaying idiotic ideas in front of a public audience... Get a grip.

  • @meku2010 I thought I was the only saw this..... I can't believe the guy actually said ' isn't it cool?" Let's see if he thinks it's cool when he is actually using it in a car.

  • @meku2010 See Navigation, Hear Phone Call, Simple.

  • Too late..why is there still no NAVIGON for Android (iPhone like Multitasking for over 1.5 years)? Now Google Navigation will rise up in this market and solutions like this will lose market share very fast...

  • Wow! I am very happy I made this investment a year ago! All I wish now is for better address entry. They say it's really good, but I fail to see how... I find it much easier to just enter the full address rather than waiting. Also, it should be smart enough to know that if I type something like 123 AAA ave, then it should set that as the destination without me having to type the city and so on. Just like Google Maps

  • good job ;)

great app, great phone, and the best multitasking ;)

  • Dear Navigon,

Seriously consider buying a lavaliere microphone. Both of these shots are static, you could even boom them with a Audio-Technica and a mike stand. There's really no reason in this day and age for bad sound in a commercial video...

  • I want this NOW! :D Can't wait... I hope they also fixed the bug that always causes the iTunes store login to pop-up on iOS 4.

  • Can you view the map while on the voice call?

  • @prospectnyc I think it is possible. We'll have to try when iOS 4 comes ^^

  • It would be cool if there was text on the top in the position of where the phone bar is when your in a phone call and you leave and you tap that bar once and it brings you right back to the phone app. Well instead of that you should have text there telling you the directions, this would be great so if you dont want to hear voice navigation, you can see text navigation on top.

  • Nice, any ETA on the release.

  • Great move in the right direction! I would actually like the app to stay on the map when I get a call. Maybe just flash the number calling inside the app. Or maybe a little pop up window with the number/name calling you. Giving me the option to take or ignore the call. Thanks! :)

  • Awesome!!! This is going to rock on the new iPhone 4 :)
