I think PSP 3000 is better because you can use UMD's if you cant buy online. And even if you could buy online there is barely an amount of games on it. Suppose if there were 100 PSP games on the PS Store there would only be about 10. (Just an example). And also it is cheaper no that there is a new model (PSP Go). So I recommend PSP 3000.

@grovyle31 If you have a job and a credit card, get a PSPGo, if you don't have a credit card, but occasionally get money, then buy a DSi XL, a PSP 3000 or just get a 3DS. The only reason to get a DSi XL over the 3DS would be the battery life or the price. And if you want a PSP and you have a credit card, then just get a Go, it's portable, it has great battery life, and I just prefer it over the bigger ones because it's a portable system.

But I'd get "Monster Hunter Freedom Unite" "Final Fantasy 7: Crisis core" "Metal Gear solid Peacewalker" and "Ratchet and Clank: Size matters". Those are some good games, but if you go into the playstation store you can download PSone classics for around $6-10, you can get playstation store points at gamestop or target. If you get some of these I'd suggest "Resident Evil" Final Fantasy 7" or "Metal Gear solid".

Ummmmmmm......The PSP Go is not hackable. All you can do i temporarily hack it if it is firmware before 5.03. After you power off, the hack is gone. You can only hack the 1000, and most models of the 2000. Also, the Go sucks ass.

@aaron5364 Thanks to signed homebrew, even the latest official firmware can run most hacks. (ISO loaders were patched in 6.37) so anything 6.36 or older is 100% hackable, just not as user friendly as a hacked 1000/2000 model.

So the PSP go isn't that bad of a deal anymore.

@pendrag00n Again, you CAN hack it, but the hack is only temporary. Once the power is turned off, any custom firmware, iso loaders, etc. are gone, and you have to re-hack. With the PSP 3000 and PSP Go, custom firmware and other hacks can ONLY be flashed to the RAM. RAM is an extremely volatile type of memory, and as such, loses all stored data shortly after power is cut. With most 2000 models, and all 1000 models, custom firmware can be flashed to the psp's flash0 (no loss after power is cut).

All the hacks are saved to the internal memory of the device (or memory stick on the 3000), if they are signed then you don't need ANY hacks to run them. The half-byte loader has also been signed and can be activated from the XMB now. (Even though it is a bit redundant with signed homebrew out) None of this will be deleted when you power off the system.

Thanks to signed homebrew even the Go is almost as well hacked as the 2000.

If all the psp games were available online, the PSP go would be a little better, but I would say the price difference makes it not so worth it when compared to the PSP 3000.
