  • Yeah this is like G+D+D+D combination. Absurd!

  • I'm Romanian and no offense to Milosovici, but she should not have been the person to receive the last 10, I think we found her right here!

  • She is Superwoman, I am insisting thinking of that would be the most shamed thing in Women's Gym History that she never won any of Title on UB. The difficulty was far higher than He Kexin nowadays, OMG, just can not believe it this such great UB Worker won nothing in her whole Gym Career, can you just believe that? This world owes her so much.

  • this was .... amaaaazing!!!! what happened to her afterward?

  • that skill should be an H!! it problably will get at least a G rating though

  • @kevinlongwood According to wiki (reliable!) the Mo Salto (Gaylord) is a G element. So goodness knows how they would classify a Gaylord II

  • How difficult is her amazing first release ranked in the new CoPß

  • @KarpfenKarpfen its not... only the Mo Salto is.. she never did this at worlds or Olympics

  • sorry? I dont understand your response xD

I only asked how difficult this skill is ranked in the new CoP

or do you mean its not ranked because she didnt do it at worlds or olympics?

    Sounds a bit illogical^^

  • Look up Mostepanovafan's Uneven Bar Release Guide. Only Mo Huilan's Gaylord is ranked in the new COP. Zhou Duan is the only person to have competed this skill in WAG and she never competed it in Worlds or Olympics so it is not named for her and it is not in the code of points. In Men's it is called the Gaylord II. If another gymnast performs this skill at worlds or olympics it will be named after her and added to the CoP

  • Mostepanova fan includes this in her guide as a 'skill we might see again' but the rating is a dash meaning it does not have one in the CoP

  • oh, i see, I'm sorry. But i still have a question: If another gymnasts has to perform it first at Worlds or Olympics so the skill will get a rating, how can a gymnast include a skill without knowing how difficult it is?

How can you tell the gymnast's d-score without that information?

  • @KarpfenKarpfen It will be rated at least as difficult as the Gaylord, or Mo Salto which Mo Huilan did. Other things there is a base line... like on Balance Beam any salto done with a 2 foot take off is a D rating... so you know you have at least that. I'm sure they have an accurate way to calculate it.

  • thanks for explaining^^

  • unfuckingbelievable. this is one of the most beautiful bar routines ive ever seen. and ive seen thousands. look how quickly she moves!! did she place? if not the judges should be shot.

  • they should name the Gaylord II on uneven bars after Zhou Duan, maybe call it Zhou salto?

  • This routine is about 20 years ahead of its time. Zhou Duan was borne in the wrong era. If the new CoP was in place then, she would have been the queen of UB.

It is simply unconscionable for her to get such a low score. Should have made those judges do a gaylord 2.

  • Hahaha seriouslyyy.

  • @GnomaticReverie You're probably right, but today's judges are more obsessed with hitting the handstand than ever before. That seems to be her weakness. But a Gaylord 2/Deltchev? Respect!

  • wow!! love it.. that first release was siiick

  • Awesome routine, and I love the 007 on her back.

  • wow! what happened to her? I remember Duan competing at the 1997 worlds but what happened afterwards x

  • Duan is better than tweddle

  • LOVE THE 1ST RELEASE! =)

  • Everytime I watch this routine, I feel there is a conversation going on between Duan and Beth Tweddle, regardless time...

  • Wow!! :)

  • Swinging wise, she is as good as he kexin. perfect giant technique before her release! swings like the men!

  • Can anybody educate me why she only got a 9.50? This is GAYLORD II + hip circle 1/2 + Gienger !!!! Totally insane. And she stuck the landing. There are a few form breaks, but a 9.50? wtf.

  • Plus the did the Geinger into an immediate Pak Salto too, Such i an nnovative, daring routine would be given the credit it deserves with the new code of points. Thats one thing I do like about this new COP it rewards risk and daring. Problem was in these days, the highest a routine could start from was a 10; this routine should have been marked from a 20 on difficulty alone! Also, isnt the Gaylord 2 a Kovac witha full twist in it???

  • Isn't that first release her named skill? its amazing.

  • Unfortunately not. I guess a skill can only be named in Olympics or worlds.

  • or World Cup Final

  • well, i believe the gaylord one is done in an inverted giant to a front flip over the bars. the gaylord it is a geiger flip over the bars

  • Also the Gaylord 2 is like a Kovacs with a full twist in it too.

  • @ralucagymnast No, a kovacs with full twist is comparable to a full twisting double back (it's sort a full twisting 1.5 tuck back), while a gaylord 2 is more comparable to a double arabian.

  • @MaebySurelyBarely Sorry im only just replying!Yes thanks for your explanation: I understand it better now. Its hard to see these releases properly sometimes, they happen so fast, its often difficult to work out when the twists happen and how many, thanks again:)

  • That was amazing! One of the most exciting bar routines I've ever seen.

  • I believe the gaylord I is the Mo Salto for women.....the gaylord II...is from back giants. Unless I have it backwards....either way the Mo Salto(whether that is the gaylord i or gaylord ii) is the one that comes from inverts or front giants.

  • yes, the Gaylord I is the Mo Salto.

  • Only a 9.5??? WTF!

  • JESUS.

  • i no isnt she good she is my old coach she went back 2 china :( i miss her soooo much she coached me 4 2years me nd jess were relly close 2 her!! she nerly went 2 da olympics she woz 1 person of frm guing

  • Bi Wenjing is Duan's best friend. Just see their pictures on Bi's blog

  • WOW.

  • WOW!!! Why was she never at worlds or Olympics! That was AMAZING!

  • She was at the 1997 Worlds, made FX finals and won a silver on VT. She's also quite good on BB, and her UB prowess is obvious. It's too bad she didn't get to compete in the AA, I thought she was better than Liu Xuan or Kui Yuanyuan in the AA.

  • Man, and this was 1997? This woman was ten or more years ahead of her time!!
