  • You might want to change the video title to avoid confusion.

  • this is too ironic!

it was this exact song that bob dylan played in 1966 or so, and drove seeger nuts!

when bob stepped out and played this with "the band", of course, electric, Pete said he wanted to take an axe and cut the chord! haha i bet he felt weird that day.

  • hey check out rage aginst the machine's cover of maggie's farm

  • @bassmastah13 Why on earth would we do that?

  • can't you see

    I'm your friend

  • sorry i like bob dylan but i think rage a t m does it way better

  • This cant touch rage against the machines version

  • @audiotool87 i hope you're kidding

  • @audiotool87 agreed for sure

  • @bunnitpacky: Seeger made a career out of socialist/communist views in music. Why should halfmace or other people leaving commentary not make their own views known?

  • Left handed gtrs? Why is this video backwards? Just curious.good job!

  • Thank you, Joe McCarthy. Now shut up and get a sense of humor.

  • Last refuge of the dolt, scream McCarthy. McCarthy made Seeger. The old Stalinist would have long retired (forgotten) to the Reds Home for Forgotten Ideological Musicians without Tail Gunner Joe.

  • Times were different back then. Seeger actually prefers the Byrds' electric version of "Turn, Turn, Turn" now. He has also openly admitted to being naive when supporting Stalin's party. Stop throwing politics into this, he's a fantastic artist.

  • Then go listen to it. Or grow up

  • whoa so much beauty grace and gift in one place

a reminder of what we can do together when we focus on creativity and celebration

  • Wow! Well there's about 20 seconds worth of my 15 minutes of fame! I'm the banjo player in the white shirt jamming behind Taj Mahal and Richie Havens! Thanks for posting! - mike merenda

  • cool!

i played on this....i'm the backing guitarist in the grey shirt and purple pants...you can really see me during ramblin' jack's verse...thanks for posting!!!

  • I wonder why this Dylan song was included? Did they know the significance? This song stuck it to Pete in 1965 at Newport, this is the song that brought rock to Newport

  • i played at the concert...and yes...that's why we did it!

originally dylan was supposed to come, or do a telecast, but in the end it was up to us!

  • Wait a minute! How come everybody's left handed?! Either they've got the image reversed or this concert took place in a parallel universe! Ha. What a great song to do, though. Too bad Bob wasn't there to do a verse too.

  • Yeah, it's reversed -- off the monitors that were covering the show so those of us in the $19.19 seats could see. Amazingly the acoustics in the Garden WORKED for once: a lesson to be learned by bands who have their sound turned up so high there that you can never hear anything.

  • I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking I didn't realise Pete was left handed, then I saw this one and everyone is playing their guitar's left handed.....DUH

    Saskia

  • Yeah Pete was asking "Where's my ax???" haha ~~~

  • I'm not sure even BOB could have made this better!! Happy Birthday, Pete, and God Bless You.

  • Did Pete cut the cables this time? ;-)
