But you don't seem to agree with the assertion that there is a natural upper limit to performance too, no matter how good the nurture is. Facts are before you. Your explanation of facts is based on the socioeconomic factor, disregarding any possibility of inherent abilities which seems a little dishonest.

@Chaicoffski Yes I might be wrong, and maybe all localized segregated populations of the world have evolved to have the same level of intelligence but it seems very unlikely to me. Indians were ruled by Muslim rulers for nearly 800 years, then by the British for another 200 years. And after 1000 years, just 65 years gone India has a space program, a nuclear power, 3 out of 12 science medals in US this year, 9% of US college seats taken up by Indians when they are less than 1% in population.

Genetic differences arise because intercaste marriages have been prohibited for such a long time and that is a fact. The point is that even socially and economically well positioned "lower" caste people's children still have a huge performance gap. Blaming this on something that these kids have never experienced in their lifetime is not going to cut it.

@Chaicoffski even after providing the "lower" castes, affirmative action and fee waivers irrespective of their economic status (ie even if they belonged to a rich family) in ALL schools for the last 65 years, their performance is in general very disappointing and there is a large performance gap. Their attitude towards learning is horrible. On the other hand exceptions are certainly there in every population.

Here in medical school the average IQ is 120 while there are high school drop outs with an IQ of 150, and many with an IQ of 130.

Achievement gap is attributed to a vicious cycle of poverty and poor education attainment by the parents of the child and the community where they are from. They need to break it up by social economics and family structure when they talk about the achievement gap. It is a complex issue.

A kid in the bronx gets 8k per kid invested in their public education vs 12-18K per kid invested in middle class areas.
