Paterno knew what happened, reported it, and lived his life in ignorance. He should have left Penn State long ago and built a winning football team at a different university. Instead, he ignored what was right. A true hero doesnt win football games; a true hero does what is right, regardless of the personal pain it may bring him. Coach Pat will live the rest of his life with regret. Not a good way to live.

Regardless of the scandal with the football team and administrators, that doesn't change the education received at Penn State or the caliber of research being conducted. Nothing has changed about the value of a degree from Penn State.

Sorry but this kid knows nothing about Joe Paterno. Joe has been building up his character for 61 years at Penn State, it's obvious this kid knows at best 1/5 of the great deeds of Paterno. Yes you do hold your leaders accountable when they fail to meet their responsibilities. Joe followed procedure and was deceived by the board of trustees in 1998, Wendell Courtney in 1998, Gary Schultz in 2002 and by Jerry Sandusky for a long time.
