  • @Riot186 VIV VILLE PLATT!!!!! I'm a Gardiner, my Mon mon was a Buller....By the way...i got the local meat market in Eugene Oregon(Oregon Parrish??) to carry Slap Ya Mamma...

  • no tomatos in gumbo

  • @sve4real

sometimes there are tomatoes in gumbo, but always there is an "e" in tomatoes.

  • @DocNOproductions thank you for the correct spelling of the word tomatoes, but there are no tomato(s) in gumbo my friend

  • Ms Poppy u r the legend of gumbo!

  • Your Gumbo looks good, but I don't know if it's better than my nanna's. She's been making the same Gumbo since ''32'' ! Grew up cooking it with her mother and grandmother in her youth! They lived in New Orelans, her mother was a cook and they also ran a Southern restaurant in the 20's and 30's, Grandma's mother and grandma did. My grandma is still alive until a recent fall, she was still making her Gumbo, head cheese, she made everything she's eaten from scratch, probably why she's still alive!

  • I didn't think gumbo had tomatos???

  • @gangtra48 creole gumbo has tomatoes, cajun gumbo does not

  • New Orleaners dont make REAL gumbo.. Near the middle Louisiana, like Ville Platte, is a better tasting gumbo..

  • To be quite honest, I'm pretty sure I saw a pube in you're gumbo, you need to sort out your recipe mate. I'm serious.

  • I like how you do it Poppy!

  • @Oracal88

  • THANK YOU!

I cannot tell you how peeved I get when somebody tries to pass off "stew" as Gumbo!

I just want to know when supposedly Cajun/Southern Louisiana people started saying (and thinking) that a light to medium roux was OK for Gumbo, instead of the Dark roux you ended up with? My ancestors would be rollin' in their graves or coming to haunt me :)

  • I love you Chef Poppy I love you.

  • Hey Poppy! What happend to the rest that you had on the plate? What was that celery?

  • Every thing else go's in the pot after the onions have blinded in with the rue. I'm not Chef Poppy I'm just speaking from having cooked gumbo my self.
