money is a system..pot will prolly never be legalized for casual use it'd complicate the money system what people dont realize is that the government still benefits from the black market!!! in terms of medical use i vote yes on that one but they should not be allowed 2 drive and they should have to have like a license for it or somethin so it wouldnt end up in a teenagers hands or somethin...but who knows what will happen i think no matter that they so it wont work even

Cannabis cannot cure; however, it does help reduce the symptoms of the disease. It also helps reduce the symptoms or side effects of many of the "legal" drugs prescribed.

It is discusting what the medical community & "big pharma" are doing to people that do not know better. I had a patient last year on fourteen (14) differnet meds! It was like a newspaper puzzle. One medication to do this & two to take away the side effects of the first.

Everytime I am visiting a friend outside of the city (like on a hobby farm) - I hear the helicopters or small aircraft searching for as MANY as 4 (FOUR) plants.

I think that the MILLIONS of dollars could be better spent!

Springfield- Illinois could become the next state to protect the sick and terminally ill from arrest for using cannabis under the recommendation of their physician. State Senator William Haine introduced Senate Bill 1381 today, the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act, which would allow those with a physicians recommendation to possess up to two ounces of usable cannabis and up to seven plants.

It has helped get off all my perscribed medication too. Such as Zoloft, Adderall and Clonodine. I was constatly having to go to the doctor to get my dosage changed because with the zoloft and adderall I was emotionaly one extreme or the other and the side effects were just overwhelming. With one little plant I was able to get the treatment I was looking for all along, with little to no side effects and I was quit taking my meds which were up to 5 times a day. Legalize medical marijuana in IL now

Hey there Julie, I support you 200% of the way, yes I said 200%. Not only allow marijuana for medical use but all around legalize it. While we let politicians discuss the legalization strategy and procedure, let's decriminalize it in Illinois (meaning we would only pay like a traffic ticket for posession). I never smoked weed. And I don't really plan to in the near future, alcohol is my thing, but it is ridiculous how alcohol and cigarettes are legal while herb isn't. Search the web for facts.

While we have great hope that our Alternative Medicine bill will pass this year (search SB2865 @ ilga dot gov), medical cannabis is currently illegal in IL.

Julie has been working as an advocate in IL for a few years now. She has had enough of the hypocrisy and has come out of the closet, so to speak.

I've survived ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease - an auto-immune disease like MS) for 22 years now using Cannabis. Dr. Bob Melamede (in my video response above) does a great job of explaining how Cannabis works in neuropathic conditions. My doctors told me in 1986 that I would be gone by 1991. Hey, I'm still here and I have a good quality of life - thanks to a simple medicine made by God.

Please let you representatives in Congress know you want medical marijuana patients and caregivers left alone.
