I had the great pleasure of meeting Jaco in Beverly Hills on Wilshire Blvd with a buddy back when we were in high school (1980's). We took pictures with him on the street doing that iconic "thumb" pose, then we sat with him while he and his trumpet player ate a quick salad before his show with the "Word OF Mouth Big Band" I saw "God" that day. He was my modern day "Jimmy Hendricks" By the way, to his credit, he was not high, very focused, laid back and cool.

I used to listen to this on the way gone from working in a music shop thinking 'these are the chords of life; beautiful, humorous, sad, joyous....' My fave WR tune for so many reasons. First of all, thank you very much for this tribute to one of the best. It must have been painstakingly hard work. However, it's hard to watch this video without thinking about what happened to Jaco in the end. I guess it's like that with any great artist who leaves us too soon. You always wonder what other music they had in their heads that wasn't able to be recorded.

An outstanding video to complement an other-worldly song. It doesn't get better. I've been listening to this since the radio station I worked at received a play copy just prior to the official release of Heavy Weather (76?). This song always reminds me of my time in Paris. Walking the street late at night, admiring the amazing mix of tranquility and pulse of life that flowed though everything. Then I hear the twinkle of the cymble and Jaco comes in and I close my eyes and let the breeze brush against me.

I saw Jaco play this with his own small group in Atlanta, sometime with six-to-twelve months before he died. This is definitely my favorite WR song. I played drums in the college jazz band, so I had appreciation for the style and structure. Everything about it is perfect to me. Thanks for posting!
