Oprah on YT reeks of commercialism. Even her "community message" seemed fake and to be honest she didn't really seem that sure of what she was talking about. I don't even see what a YT channel will DO for her. How is it going to add to her show? Backstage clips, that sort of thing, yeah, but couldn't that just be on her official site? The good thing about youTube is that it allows choice. I believe that youTube is the next revolution. Opera is about to enter the real world of communities, and it will probably be a wakeup call. There are some really smart, talented people on youTube; the content well exceeds anything you find on TV. Anyway my choice is that I won't be watching Opera; I wish her well though. I personally think it's a bad thing - the point of YouTube is that UNLESS a celebrity is actually going to get involved in the community (through ACTUAL communication, not making one video) then it's nothing more than a promotional stunt to gain attention in another form of media.
