"If you get the government out of it to a much greater extent you get it to work like a market and we'll reign in costs."
Sucks how people are now attacking Mitt for Romneycare and saying he'd impliment it on a national scale. He said he opposed federal mandates. Now everyone from Perry, Santorum, Bachmann, etc...are all lying about him.
McCain - what is the population of AZ vs. PA??? 6:53.
McCain - an answer to your question- because the government appointed authority over med and pharma companies to a few (monopoly) instead of letting competition in the insurance industry. That would give incentive to more scrutiny, better bargaining on behalf of the consumer. 7:20
that just makes me freakin pissed because ok this is how i see it, if there was a universal health insurance everyone would have health insurance from the government and we will all be taxed for it, but that amount would be way lower then if we were to get it ourselves at this time even if you were in some kind of group policy.
Next is that hmm that taxed money where does it go? oh wait i guess that would be the funds for more research or what not, so why would the quality of the of treatment go down...
another part is that maybe they actually might get more funding from the tax because EVERY SINGLE PERSON would have payed the tax for the health insurance, instead of whatever % of people that are paying for it now from whatever company they have...
*over billing to the government by Big Pharma which wastes tax dollars
*lack of competition due to limited economy of scale from fewer citizens plugged into affordable coverage.(catch 22 of current funds)
*lack of money from heavy taxation to enable the free market to develop more choices that will reduce inflation when the economy is given the chance to work
Ron Paul will solve Healthcare at the SOURCE:(By Elimination of) The Federal Reserve and the IRS
We must reinstate Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution to allow ONLY Congress the power to coin money and regulate the value thereof, instead of a private corporation stealing value, like the Federal Reserve is doing today.
Great Depression2 is on the way if nothing changes.
if everyone in America watched Sicko, it would be a much better place. It is all about the money to the republicans. What about the human factor? Human suffering has to be considered.
First of all, Michael Moore has been a proven liar. Secondly, it's not about Republicans caring solely about $. We DO help people with free medical care, food stamps, govt housing, welfare, etc. The problem is, some of these recipients have never paid in a dime & are doing better than me (who works). Go look in a welfare line at the $200 tennis shoes & then leaving the welfare office in a Lexus. What's next, clothes & a new car for everyone?? Those could be considered necessities.
If you have government steal from my pockets to pay for what you call "human suffering" then we will all inevitably be forced into poverty with no chance of escape. The looters will steal in the name of charity and good intentions and hide behind the sick and children. They will consume until they kill all those who produce. Everything you enjoy in this country came to be because people produced something of value in order to prosper and gain wealth.
The ability for any american to transcend class is not available to you because of a 'Robin Hood' mentality in wich the rich a evil simply because they are rich. Theft in the name of ending "Human Suffering" is the lowest and most disgusting thing a person can do.
Charlie was right, Pharmeceuticals are the bad guys. Sure, like Romney said, they provide medication, but just as long as we fill their pockets more than needed. I think the republicans need to watch Sicko. But I doubt they'd care, it's all about money anyways.
Romney knows what he's talking about. His responses to pharmeceuticals and health care are fair and just. It's obvious that all other candidates are afraid of him so they rally against him.
The thing is the damm illegals are bank rupting our country. Economy Health care, social services, crime social securtiy. You know they were wanting to say the illegals that worked here would be entitled to social security benefits! That was in the dream act
Ron Paul is the only candidate who is not on the Council of Foreign Relations. Obama,Clinton,Romney,McCane etc are on the CFR. Research "CFR", it is a front for a one-world government. Then search youtube for Ron Paul Rockefeller. Rock is asked how he feels about Paul abolishing the illegal federal reserve and Rock is squirming and scared of Paul. The fed reserve is Rockefellers and they have been stealing from americans since 1913. Vote for RP to stop these criminals once and for all!!
My whole issue is that we base everything on a candidates ability to debate. Well, okay, not everything. If this were the case, John Kerry would've been elected President. We should put more stock into a candidates track record and M.O., instead of focusing in on whether or not they had a good night with party-line rhetoric, and buzz words like 'change'.
But you have to remember that IQ bell curve tops at 100 here in USA. This is the mentality that makes or brakes any election. And if you have ever been around people like that you'd notice that they pay attention to the way the candidate looks more than they do to what he says or stands for.
Sure. All men between the ages of 18-35should vote for Kucinich since his wife is hot and she has a tongue ring. I know that's a bit extreme, but it certainly goes along the same flawed logic of voting for someone based on looks and not substance.
My guess is that its because Big Pharmaceutical companies have a lot invested in him and since Big Pharmaceuticals have vested interest in Big Media, the convoluted spiral of association annoints Mitt Romney's head as the choice of the 'People'.
That's whom I've decided to support. Come to think of it, I remember him being a guy I liked in 1988, and I was only 8 years old. Fast foward 20 years and I'm of voting age; I see him as the only real choice available despite the media slant. And I'm no 'Ronpologist', or some internet savant, mind you.
i would not vote Romney coz he is a flip flopper, but I admire his beleif in free market forces and the articulate way he's promoting and explaining it
Every Politician is a flip flopper in certain areas. If you look close at what Romney has done, he's created change in Mass. as a republican in a hugely liberal state. He worked with the "opposition" to create good things. His flip flop issue was more of a I'm going to be pro-choise because that's what's in place in Mass. and I'm not going to fight the issue so we can work together on other issues that we can change. I think he's got a good plan for the nation
Mitt doesn't seem to take to well to jabs and quips. He looks hurt and withdrawn. I wonder what the numbers are from Big Pharma that this guy is receiving.
seriously, I mean he's in the company of 5 men aspiring to be the most powerful in America, maybe the world. He should expect immature quips and jabs right? Where does he get off expecting them to be professional and mature.
Ron Paul has about as much chance of winning as a dog has of gaining an opposable thumb. MITT ROMNEY is the only person who can turn around the economy. That is the ONLY important issue in the entire election because if you haven't noticed and most college kids that post on youtube haven't, is that our country is entering a monumental recession. I don't think a war vet or a nice hick minister will have any clue how to stop that from happening. ROMNEYFEST 2008

Mitt appeals to coiffed coxcomb automatons like him, McCain is a alarmist amnesty peddler, Ghouliani is still suffering from post-traumatic stress and appeals to slimy trial attorneys, Thompson appeals to sniffy old curmedgeons who think they know it all, Ron Paul appeals to erudite no-bullshit free thinkers who aren't buying the shit being sold to us.

I live in MA, and the health plan is this- you have to fins your owen health coverage plan, sign up for it-and if you didn't do so by Dec 31, youll be fined.
The drug corporations that are pumped into the American population helps create long term health problems. Example. Depression, psychotropic drugs causes diabetes. Mercury, AIDs, and live cancer viruses are in , or have been found in the various vaccines.
All of their health care programs are a screw job to John Q. Public. The only thing I agree with is that people need to maintain their health so they don't end up with major health problems.
Romney's health plan sounds good, ROn Paul's Monetary and foriegn policy sounds good, Ross Perot's streamlined version of Gov't sounds good can we merge them together lol

Hmmm, you'll be penalized if you DON'T buy insurance. Sounds like the mess that Texas is in with auto insurance. Once you HAVE to buy insurance do you honestly think the insurance companies will provide a fair rate?
So I have to still pay taxes and now I have to have a health savings(tax) to pay. When can I start taking home the money I earned.

The root causes are:
*over billing to the government by Big Pharma which wastes tax dollars

*lack of money from heavy taxation to enable the free market to develop more choices that will reduce inflation when the economy is given the chance to work

17 million Americans earn over $50,000 dollars and choose NOT to purchase insurance
9 million Americans earn over $75,000 per year and choose NOT to purchase insurance
