  • "If we were to switch of oil today our civilisation would suffer a huge drop in energy use."

Good points about the batteries. Another thing to consider is that it takes energy to produce new methods of making it. If we stopped now, civilisation would grind to a halt and go into reverse.

If we continue with oil, but channel more and more into things like fusion, we will unlock new sources, orders of magnitude more powerful and cleaner, that can sequester the pollution of the former method.

  • Technology to make clean energy is already here, but its nearly all electrical.

There is no electrical storage that can store the same amount of energy in the same volume as oil does. Batteries will take another 20 years to be perfected, they will never reach the energy density to power machines like earthmovers for a hole day. If we were to switch of oil today our civilisation would suffer a huge drop in energy use. The development to compensate for this drop (efficiency) is not done yet.

  • most people are running around like a chicken with no head and are of no real help. so how does a person teach these people to get out of the rut they are in and contribute to a cleaner and fair world. they are being controled to work harder and be so preoccupied that they are blind to the truth.

  • okay your right. what do we do? WHAT?

  • Leave fraternities out of it.. Sorry that successful men come from fraternities, but it's not global power scam.
