  • That kid. Whoop his ass and make him eat dem peas.

  • It must be said: Pac Man and Frogger are awesome!

  • 07:48 - 07:58

  • @Azliane Are you talking about their pot?

  • @14greenboy14

It was a reference to cannabis.

  • @Azliane that's another name for that

  • hahaha XD Alton's sheepish laughter is cute XD

  • "At the ripe age of 14 or 15 they'll be cooking dinner for you." That's the truth. I love cooking and just a few days ago made dinner for my whole family.

  • "Cooking with Kids" I'm pretty sure that's illegal, not to mention disgusting

  • "Floppiness is a sign of being old."

There's a dick joke in there somewhere.

  • @FrostbittenWolf Yeah, but most people here couldn't carrot less. XD

  • @ 0:40. That's a brilliant comeback. "Do you know how hard I have to chew to swallow it?"

  • i can cook but cant cook the 2 things that should be easy but EGGS and PANCAKES are not my thing

  • "say alton, mind going out to the car and getting the pot? i forgot it." please, mr. brown, stop smoking weed while taking care of your nephew. xD

  • then send them my peas... i love that.. ive said that...

  • "Hey Hormone boy. " xD

  • Lol not me. I know how to cook! I'm Asian! My mom makes me stand by her every night at dinner. Hand me a cup of noodles and I'll make 20 different recipes.

  • lmfao "just incase you get distraaaaactedd againn" while twirling the camera in an ADD manner.....alton is hysterical

  • "ohh, hello over there. how you doin'?"

  • 7:24

    Alton- Old and bitter

    Elton- Like you?

Alton- What?! Come here you little punk!

  • I can't stop laughing everytime I watch it.

  • @goodnewsbadnews16

    B-B-B-BENNY AND THE JETS

  • I thought tomatoes were technically berries.

  • You...were...RIYIYIYIYIGHT!

  • @surfingsuicune tomatoes are a fruit because there are seeds inside. Berries are a fruit also. Yes, tomatoes are also berries because their seeds are suspended in that edible gel stuff, not separated out in a core or stone.

  • elton " come to papa! " hahahaha

  • cook up some bait?

  • The bait is the food.

  • Like Frogger was a better example xD

  • I almost fell out of my seat laughing when Elton started "smooth talking" the ladies.

  • What?

  • wait why would he be having peas for breakfast? then why would he go get a burger for breakfast?

  • This woulda been valuable information 2 hours ago when I bought a pot!! Grrrr!!!

  • If I can put a razor edge on a cheap set of knives, do I really need to buy a "nice" set of overpriced knives at the fancy kitchen store?

  • If you are happy with what you have, you don't have to buy anything.

  • Odds are your cheap knives will break or rust over time and you'll spend just as much, if not more, replacing them over time than you would have spent if you'd just bought a single high-quality knife.

  • Amplify your cheap set with a few really nice knives for the stuff you do most often.

  • Says you. Destination is overrated. Wandering aimlessly sparks inspiration.

  • If it wasn't for the space between you and your destination, there wouldn't be a trip.

  • and if i'm standing next to someone the difference between me and them is only a few feet.

    sorry...... couldn't resist

  • This might be really, really late, but I think that was my point.

  • i love it

  • The video thing made me crack up...

  • "If you wanna catch one of those one day your gonna pay attention, cause your gonna have to cook up some bait"

    I chuckled.

  • Love this show the best! I like that vegetable soup. Plus ,some parts are funny, like that hormone boy part.

  • Umm... no... no, I don't think so...

  • Alton Brown is the most entertaing and educatiional personalities on t.v. Feasting on waves will be awesome.

  • I love Alton Brown. He is amazing! But, I have to say 1:40 "more bars in more places".

  • Comment removed

  • Oh, really, Attmas? that's so cool! we have so much alike, you and I!

I've been cooking since I was 7 or 8 and I have catered for many families, partie, gatherings, and some celebrities...

  • As a single parent, I have brought my child into the kitchen with me. While I dont let her deal with the cutting part yet (she's only 10 now), I do let her do most everything else. My mom taught me to be self sufficient in the kitchen, and I feel its my duty to do the same with my own child.

  • Oh, greenmanalichi, you should at least teach her the basics! like how to chop or something!

  • I guess I'm still the over-protector

  • well, how about the knife safety stuff?

  • OK OK....I will try...but I just have some really sharp knives...biting my nails thinking about it :?

  • speaking of knives, do you know the difference between honing a knife and sharpening one?

  • Totally...honing is for everyday use to straighten the blade (if you will)since it tends to lose its straightness with continued use. Sharpening is done when the blade is dull, and it has recommended to allow a professional handle that chore.

  • good! I wish my parents would listen... one of them is a chef for god sakes!

  • I'd disagree that a professional is required to sharpen a knife.

All you need is a set of stones with various grits and a little patience. Start with cheap knives and once you can put a nice razor-sharp edge on it, move to your nice knives.

Or buy a Spyderco Sharpmaker. I use it for all my pocket knives and my kitchen knives when I'm in a hurry and don't want to break out the benchstones.

  • That would be honing, not sharpening, if memory serves.

  • Honing is the use of a steel to realign the edge of the knife. Your knife still has an edge, it just needs to be bent back to its original position.

Sharpening involves removing steel from your knife when there's no edge to create a new edge.

  • HAHAH "Old and bitter"

  • I started cooking in when I Started Boy Scouts. That was when I was in 5th grade however old that is.

  • thats 10

  • cool i started cooking when i was three orange juice and biscuits when i was about four or five

  • thats 18

  • Does anyone know if Alton is a lefty? If he is, this is the first time I've ever noticed! (His shirt says "Lefty" hehehe, cute!)

  • Well nevermind, on the next ep. he says he is a righty! Man, I got overzealous!

  • Yeah, but on the episode prier to this one, he told Marsha to make sure and get a left handed panini maker.

  • No, no, That was to make sure she stayed out of the house longer so that he and Elton would have more time to make the sandwiches they wanted without interference.

  • Maybe AB's ambidextrous! That would be really cool...

  • AB rules!! Thank You "Like the Hat"

Your selfless service has saved me many a

rainy day. (My owner likes you too)

  • lol old and bitter, "like you" this show is awesome!

  • luv elton...:p

  • haha hormone boy..

  • That is one hard-core watch there AB. What is that thing? Anyone have a guess?

also, I can tell you... I am a fifth grade science teacher and those kids can't wait to learn to cook..they love it! (and Alton...they act like he is a rock star)

  • Had one like that, in 1978.

  • i went to see Alton at a book singing two years ago. he was spoke to the crowd the way he speaks in the show. he even mentioned wow, over the years, more and more children started watching. he seemed proud of that.

  • A vortex manipulator?

  • but you can't open the vortex or Abadon will get out!

  • Torchwood?

  • ^^ yep

  • Elton is a little pimp :P

  • old and bitter....lol....he so reminds me of my nephew

  • HAHAHA Hello come to PAPA!

  • 'You wanna catch one of those one day, you gotta be able to cook up some bait!'

Mmmmm. Guys who cook are always welcome in my house.

  • Only an amateur would forget their pot in the car.

  • It was all part of Alton's clever plot to get Elton to mow the lawn! Then again, it didn't work...what an amateur...

  • "floppiness is a sign of being old"

  • I wish you could favorite comments like this XD

  • Because I bet he cooked better then his mom or dad did. heh.

  • You continue to amaze me with the frequency of your new episodes. You go LTH! :D

  • "That's a sure sign the garlic is old and bitter."

    "Like you?"

"What? Come here, you little punk!"

    XD

  • I wish my mom would've given me a Shun knife when I was 13!

It's ok, I grew up with Sabatiers.

  • i buy my own

  • Well, don't we all. But not when we're 13.

    Or broke. *sigh*...

  • Heh,I should be studying for finals, but I'm watching this instead! Heh!!

  • ppl actually don't cook dinner till 14 or 15? I was making dinner for my family at 7

  • why?

  • i made dinner 4 my family at 13

  • I made my family a huge Brunch when I was in 10. I'm serious

  • Same here.

My dad was a single parent and he worked

  • 14 hour shifts 6 days a week.

I knew how to bake, boil, broil, sautee, grill ... ect., almost anything by 8.

  • did you figure out those cooking techniques by yourself before you were 8??

  • @LikeTheHat i really learned to cook about 5-6 years ago when i was like, 12 or 13

  • @TimTheReaper I may be 18 and a cook myself, but I was fortunate enough to grow up with a mom who emphasized teaching her children how to cook. I show her episodes of this show about things she makes, and she can predict pretty much every step of the process exactly. So......lucky.

  • @gamemeister27 haha my mom is useless when it comes to cooking. i learned everything from my aunt and Good Eats. But yeah, you're a lucky person lol.

  • What kinda of dinners?

  • full dinners, roast, casseroles, baked goods, etc

  • Wow. I'm not allowed to cook. My dad is afraid I'll become a chef.

  • my Mum was teaching me from before I can remember, she'd pull a chair up to the counter and I'd stand on that. then again I have friends who are in their 20's and they still can't cook.

  • Wow. I love cooking. How could you not cook?

  • That really sucks. That what I want to be and my parents support me.

  • I'm glad. Make sure you get into a union. =3

  • i can cook. but my mum doesm't want me to be 1 tho...

  • now why is that? Cooking is great...

  • tell your mom to piss off. cooking is gods gift to man. and dont actually tell her to piss off.
