  • Best song of Mastodon

  • best 2 minute song ever

  • is the same roar that the t-rezx scene of jurassic park LOL 0:01

  • @elfeloux Yes, it actually is :P

  • @elfeloux "At the beginning of "Crusher Destroyer" is the roar of the Tyrannosaurus rex from the film Jurassic Park with Lex screaming her brother's name, "Timmy!", as they get attacked in the car."

  • is it just me or should more people listen to Mastodon?

  • HEEEAAAVY

  • "Cool, dude. They recorded a thunderstorm in this track" "No, man. It's Brann Dailor getting the shit out of his drumset!"

  • @jchang33 what you call death, i call evolution and progression.

  • T-rex Roar & "Timmy!" @ 0:02

  • this is like getting into a knife fight with a pack of velociraptors

  • that Tyrannosaurus rex in the beginning doesn't sound so friendly ;P fuckin brutal

  • This was on Viva La Bam ^_^ I had forgotten about this song!

  • Mastodon is one of the few bands where "their old stuff was better" doesn't apply...but that's because it's *all* fucking amazing.

  • You can't believe this song can be played live until you see Mastodon do just that!

freaking Amazing song!.. absolutely brutal! \m/

  • I have been crushed and destroyed.

  • My asshole achs for this song everytime it comes on! Fuck yeah! I want dino dick in my throbbing asshole!

  • i played this to my daughter once, and she grew a beard! real metal!

  • You don't really get that much more metal when it comes to dinosaurs and other badasss extinct animals, yet I'm amazed that there not that popular in the metal world with the only exception I know of that is Mastodon.

As with my most anticipated releases. I do ignore when snippets or song previews happen prior and normally wait to listen to it when the preordered disc is in my hands and my iTunes. So The Hunter, I've been hearing it's like Remission and please... This time a Spinosaurus roar!

  • this song is pure adrenalinee to my ears!!!

  • A song that begins with a tyrannosaurus, how much more brutal can you get?

  • Im so ready for the hunter, but after that album, i hope mastodon goes back to the old font for the name. They always did cool symbols on the side of it. lol.

  • i think i know what a crusher is! it has to be my mind! cause this song destroyed. it all makes sense

  • LISTEN TO THIS AND PUNCH A FUCKING BEAR IN THE FACE!

  • THUG

  • The intro sound is actually the sound of Mother Earth coming to this song.

  • i crank the volume for the roar its epic lol

  • This here.. is a crusher destroyer.

    What's it do?

    It destroys crushers.

  • @paddymoep Isn't a crusher a milkshake or something :P

  • @TheLastBaron16 I bet he hates milkshakes!

  • @TheLastBaron16 good job at making crusher destroyer sound wussy : P

  • @sleepiswrong667 Haha :P Milkshakes aren't wussy when they're steak flavoured

  • @TheLastBaron16 lol this is true, but you cant forget the lambs blood

  • @TheLastBaron16 OH MY GOD YOU ARE MY HERO A STEAK MILKSHAKE

  • @TheLastBaron16 or blood flavored

  • @TheLastBaron16 lol best youtube conversation ever

  • @TheLastBaron16 And seasoned with horse blood

  • @paddymoep what is a crusher ?

  • tony hawks underground

  • No better way to start a career than this.

  • those rifts are pure fucking evil \m/

  • I want to fuck shit up!!!

  • I swear this is the forgotten Mastodon Album, I love it though!

  • this is the mastodon i remember ........but i do like some of the new

  • This is THE song to fuck shit up to

  • This song makes me wanna Wrestle Tyranosaures!!

  • fuck this song kicks my ass every time i listen to it!

  • @Vpwtflol Crack the Skye is one of the greatest albums of our time...

  • @Vpwtflol Each to their own. Personally I love it. As I said before, all Mastodon albums are classics

  • @TheLastBaron16 I like Leviathan the best, but that's my opinion. ;)

  • @MrJuirIII I think Crack the Skye is the best, but if im listening to mastodon (i listen to every album everytime) I put Blood Mountain on first lol.

  • @TheLastBaron16 I agree 100% bro!

  • @Vpwtflol

    How so?

  • @Vpwtflol You have the wrong opinion.

  • @lifebayne no u

  • @Vpwtflol Lol, its hardly produced at all. They were going for a kind of lazy, sludgy mix which is part of the charm of that album imo. If it were produced a bit more it would sound tighter, like with more compression for example, but arguably their sound might not jive with that. I would compare something like that with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon to say, The Division Bell. TDB is way more compressed which makes it sound tight and punchy but imo loses the atmosphere DSOTM had.

  • @uberepicdeathkill There's so much more to getting a tight punchy sound than compression, you can't owe an albums entire production value to the amount of compression used. Crack the Skye has a pretty high production value in comparison to all their previous albums which is fine, it's an amazing album I love it but I must say I do prefer older mastodon they seemed to have more of a kick, saying that though Black Tongue has so much bite to it, really excited for The Hunter.

  • @AKacunaBecomes Compression was just one prime example because it is often the most common type of thing used for punch and for quality and consistency of sound. Of course there are many other factors, but compression is almost always used to some extent in modern recordings.

  • @uberepicdeathkill I know there is, just stacking a ton of compression on something does not mean it's over produced it usually just means it'll sound shitty, if you over compress something it will lose it's punch, as far as Crack the Skye goes I wouldn't say it's over produced as that implys it's a bad thing but the production value on that album is staggering but it's the kinda album that needs that level of production it wouldn't work sounding rough around the edges and raw like old mastodon

  • @TheLastBaron16

Leviathan was by far my favourite. But Ive liked everything from Remission and beyond.

  • @Hexedtemplar Let's just face it, everything Mastodon do is amazing ;P

  • @TheLastBaron16

Wasnt a huge fan of Lifeblood and not quite sure how I feel about their newest songs. But its too early to judge it.

  • @TheLastBaron16 While I agree that MASTODON is one of the greatest metal bands of this generation, I'd have to say that the three albums preceding Crack the Skye have been much more monumental in shaping the sludge/prog genre.

  • @Vpwtflol Every album they have is pretty much a masterpiece, and thats just the flat truth if you like hard rock\metal\prog

  • As if this song wasn't metal enough they stick a fuckin' t-rex into it, that's like super-metal AND THEN they slap two badass words like Crucher Destoryer over it, that's so heavy metal it makes plutonium cry tears of jealousy.

  • @MarkArandjus Yep. This song is heavier than a led gorilla

  • Drums are fucking beastly

  • Anyone know the name of the .wav file (the monster) at the beginning of the song? I know I've heard that in some movie.

  • @menckencynic

I dunno the name of it or anything, but I DO know it's from Jurassic Park, and the roar is from the T-Rex.

  • ZERO DISLIKES FOR THE FUCKING WIN.

  • The whole album kicks ass, but this is by far my favorite song off of it. Remission is my second favorite album, next to Leviathan. Blood Mountain is a good, solid album that I have no complaints about (Circle of Sysquatch and Hand of Stone rocks my world). Crack the Skye is good, but very different. Definitely one of the most original metal albums I've ever listened to.

  • @Leviathan12121 Crack the Skye is my personal favourite. But to be fair, Mastodon have never made a poor album to date. Every one is a classic!

  • This is prolly my favourite mastodon album. Which is ironic, seeing as it's the only one i don't own yet. I CANT FUCKING FIND IT

  • THUG, brings me to that game

  • Timmy!!!!

  • One of their best songs! What a great amazing band Mastodon is.

I wanna kill godzilla with this song !

  • 0 dislikes, WHOOHOO

  • Instead of a Metal rebellion i propose a new plan.

    1. Don't bash other metal artists, we must unite! We cant fight against pop music if we arent even together

    2. Watch more and more metal videos to get it to the top of the youtube vid list

If you like this idea, thumbs it up JUST so people can see it, and also spread it around if you like this idea

Copy this text in every Metalvideo you watch and we´re getting the power

  • This is my ringtone. It's awesome hearing a Jurassic Park T-Rex roar and then some badass metal riffs. Probably should change it since I take so long to answer the phone..

  • i want to fight a dinosaur everytime i listen to this.

  • @VladFerdinand1

    Hell yeah nigga who doesn't???

  • @VladFerdinand1 Actually, it's about bullfighting. And bulls ain't extinct....yet!

  • @VladFerdinand1

    best comment ever

  • @VladFerdinand1 I want to punch my hardcore history teacher when i listen to this :O

  • great song 5/5

  • Remission is the only Mastodon album I can't find anywhere, grrrrr!!...I guess it's an online job.

  • @jamesrocks4eva I got mine from Amazon. I had the same problem, it's not in any record stores!

  • @TheLastBaron16

everyone seems to have trouble finding this cd on stores and i bought it yesterday from one

  • @MetalHeadFilipeG96 Really? I supose my local record store is a small company but I went to HMV which is big and it wasn't there. I find if you have the patience the internet is best for ordering all CD's

  • @TheLastBaron16

ya, when i cant find the cds i want (which is pretty much always, except when i go to that store where i bought Remission, that one has enough metal cds and dvds for me, but i dont go there very often), i just ask my aunt to get them online or from a store on the place she lives, which has alot more stuff

  • @jamesrocks4eva

lol Remission was in fact the only Mastodon album ive ever found in a store, yesterday i found it in one of my fav cd stores ever, that has more metal than most regular cd stores and the only mastodon album i could find was Remission, so i bought it without thinking twice. I already had Crack the Skye, but i got that from amazon and it was my aunt who got it for me, and being a huge mastodon fan i already have all their albums downloaded, but having the real cds is the real deal

  • @jamesrocks4eva Found this on vinyl at...get this...a Hot Topic. Shit was so cash.

  • I recognized that dinosaur rawr once I first heard it, it's from the TRex in Jurassic Park.

  • Great song

  • Mike Connor?

  • dope video.

  • @darrellvinniephilrex What do you mean by that?

  • @TheLastBaron16

I think its a good thing, btw, I like your name.

  • @XxSameerxX Fair enough :P cheers man, it's a great song

  • @TheLastBaron16 Dope means like sick, but it's not really a video :P
