That was so amazing! You are such a great mom! You should get him voice lessons! I honestly believe that he has a great voice and like many people, his voice hasn't fulfilled it's full potential yet. You could hear some really good notes when he was singing! Also, his drawings were gorgeous! Did he draw those freehand? It's so amazing that he is able to overcome so much! Our spiritual bond is what makes he and I so different and unique. I'm NOT the typical parent that people are accustomed to seeing with a child as such. @MARSALE...Well...denial is the number one setback of Autism. If more parents would just pay attention to the warning signs. Gritting of the teeth is the most common form, no facial expressions, non-verbal (even if they can't talk...they should be vocalizing sounds at a certain age)...Cooing and humming should be in to play in the first few months of life. Its a form of communication. There would be days when my son would just sit there and do absolutely nothing. Early intervention is key!
LOVE how he clears his throat while he singin- like he tryna get into it 4real real! lol....Venom, my 2yr old knows like 5 or 6 songs already!! he knows melody, verses, "climaxes" in songs, its scary.....im in denial that he could be autistic but the more research me & his mom do, the more the evidence leans towards it. i, like you, wold take 30 bullets for his behind though, Today!!! thanks for posting
@huntingtonparkway...trust me when I tell you that the words are there. I've learned that everything is so different and simple with them. My son sung before he could talk. I would hear him harmonizing the melodies to songs, with the exception of him humming the tunes in such a manner that you knew he knew the words but just couldn't vocalize them. I used music as a therapeutic method to teach him to speak the words he hummed. Inspirational Music does it for him. Gospel, Classical... ~V~
This is beautiful. I am happy you have an Autistic yhat can speak. That is really something I wish my child could do. She is 15 and can not speak except to say a few words. And also autism does not discriminate and black families are hardly ever seen. I am proud of your son

I've worked his entire life to make sure that he spoke. I believe my job is the hardest job on the planet. No labor job could ever top what I do for him. Please love them and treat them with respect because even though they don't think the way we do, they have feelings and know when people are making fun of them. My sister was also diagnosed with Autism. At first I was extremely upset. I thought it was unfair for this to happen to anyone. But later on, after learning to except it, I started watching her do things I never thought she would ever do. After seeing your son, it made me realize that I have that same gift. The gift of her in my life is better than anything I could imagine. I think he had fun singing and I was happy to watch that.

Great job Antonio! I have a 10 year old son with Autism and he is my life. You are right, the greatest thing we can give our children is love. I am on a board of directors of a non-profit that helps local families with children with autism and you don't realize how many parents just don't spend the time and appreciate the positives our children have to offer. My son did not speak until he was 5 years old but now sings at fairs, restaraunts, etc.

my mom is a parent of a special needs child. my brother has apraxia, which means he has speech problems. so he goes to speech therapy and o.t. i believe he is truly a blessing from god, as antonio is. he sounds like a really sweet kid. @MARSALE...Well...denial is the number one setback of Autism. If more parents would just pay attention to the warning signs. Gritting of the teeth is the most common form, no facial expressions, non-verbal (even if they can't talk...they should be vocalizing sounds at a certain age)...Cooing and humming should be in to play in the first few months of life. Its a form of communication. There would be days when my son would just sit there and do absolutely nothing. Early intervention is key!

LOVE how he clears his throat while he singin- like he tryna get into it 4real real! lol....Venom, my 2yr old knows like 5 or 6 songs already!! he knows melody, verses, "climaxes" in songs, its scary.....im in denial that he could be autistic but the more research me & his mom do, the more the evidence leans towards it. i, like you, wold take 30 bullets for his behind though, Today!!! thanks for posting

@huntingtonparkway...trust me when I tell you that the words are there. I've learned that everything is so different and simple with them. My son sung before he could talk. I would hear him harmonizing the melodies to songs, with the exception of him humming the tunes in such a manner that you knew he knew the words but just couldn't vocalize them. I used music as a therapeutic method to teach him to speak the words he hummed. Inspirational Music does it for him. Gospel, Classical... ~V~

This is beautiful. I am happy you have an Autistic yhat can speak. That is really something I wish my child could do. She is 15 and can not speak except to say a few words. And also autism does not discriminate and black families are hardly ever seen. I am proud of your son

@huntingtonparkway Do not give up hope! Begin today and watch what happens tomorrow. Build on those few words and they will develop into sentences...I promise you. I've worked his entire life to make sure that he spoke. I believe my job is the hardest job on the planet. No labor job could ever top what I do for him. Your daughter can speak...you just dont hear the words but you see them through the expressions on her face. You can reach them by imagination alone... Don't give up!

My son is also autistic and he's been singing James Brown "I Feel Good" for 18 years! These guys are the most beautiful angels God has sent down to us and he touches people every day. Please love them and treat them with respect because even though they don't think the way we do, they have feelings and know when people are making fun of them. Isn't it enough that they were born with this handicap...do they really have to be mistreated too! Get to know them and love them. I do!

Hey,
My sister was also diagnosed with Autism. At first I was extremely upset. I thought it was unfair for this to happen to anyone. But later on, after learning to except it, I started watching her do things I never thought she would ever do. After seeing your son, it made me realize that I have that same gift. The gift of her in my life is better than anything I could imagine. I think he had fun singing and I was happy to watch that.

Great job Antonio! I have a 10 year old son with Autism and he is my life. You are right, the greatest thing we can give our children is love. I am on a board of directors of a non-profit that helps local families with children with autism and you don't realize how many parents just don't spend the time and appreciate the positives our children have to offer. My son did not speak until he was 5 years old but now sings at fairs, restaraunts, etc.
