@Estkling Do you need special permission to be on this highway? and what about any military up there?

@chunkumonkey No special permission is required, however, there is military presence as you leave Kashgar and onto the highway itself, where there is a check point and all foreigners are required to show their passports. Obviously visas are required if you cross borders, which is sadly why we could not continue into Pakistan.

Did u travel across border of Pakistan Korakoram Highway, what,s difference both sides road Quality, but i will say one thing Korakoam high way is an example of true Pak-China oldest Friendship. Long live Pak-China Friendships.

@AryansTruth We were not able to get visas in time to cross the actual boarder, but we did see it. The Chinese side is repaved annually due to the extreme winter climate damage, but there are areas which are not paved or tarmaced and are quite unkept. I cannot give you much information on the Pakistani side I am afraid.

Please let me know the distance between Pak border post and Kashgarh in China? How many hours does it take in journey by bus ? How much cost by bus ?

We hired a driver to take us up to the border; which took us four hours from Kashgar. I am not sure if there are bus tours operated directly from Kashgar, but this is certainly worth looking into if cost is an issue as private drivers will charge you the earth.

give me a break dude i am a pakistani and my dad applied for a visit visa for a week only the chinese issued the visa within a day moreover it was for one and a half year,now thats something and if u go to srilanka there pakistani's don't even need a visa it seems like pakistanis are treated much better by most indian neighbours(chn,bgd,sr)in comparison to their treatment to indians,the reason is we pakis don't try to influence our weak neighbours like indians,and long live china pak freindship
