i think it actually puts stasis in the room making them appear fast meaning them merging with stasis means they have some control over it

@REpowerplay actually heres how it works, the stasis when casted to the necromorphs making them slower but when it is combined with the body (or flesh) it does the complete opposite thus making them faster also the infection is also a factor in it to its like an upgrade to the necromorph army (or monsters)

People only gravitate to it out of a bored whim around this time in the game, pick it up, use it for 2 encounters, tops, and promptly decide that a weapon with zero upgrades and it's own special nuances not killing twitchers by the dozen means it's a broken p.o.s. *sigh*

I agree. In my first playthroughs I was reluctant to use it -more of a gun nut-, but since I decided to use every gun at least once, I ended up liking it as a secondary weapon, especially against babies and crawlers, even when it consumes ammo like crazy.

If you go back, to the flame thrower dev video... I noticed it had the napalm blast as -primary-, and the standard gout of flame as -secondary-. Although it felt a bit backward at first, I started playing it like -that-, and I end up with more than enough ammo.
