The Great Gatsby looks like one of them movies that can put ya to sleep, lol. If you needed to sleep early that night, this was the movie to watch, hehe
Uh... TV 38 was Satcom C3 Transponder 3 on the satellite arc... for many years... a Superstation. I had a big satellite dish in my yard.. could pull that in on the bird for years. And WBZ-TV (CBS) purchased WSBK WLVI 56 was bought by WHDH 7 a few years ago.
Yeah, really...at least, following the demise of said networks, WSBK had the good sense not to affiliate w/that God-awful MyNetwork TV and went back to their former indie status, even bringing back their old "Entertaining Boston" slogan.
Mainly the fact that about 3/5 of their programming lineup consists of crappy reality shows...hopefully their recent acquisition of Smackdown will change that.
Does Dana Hersey still do voice-overs for TV38? I like the station better now that it has reverted back to independent status. I never watched when it was UPN.

Dwight Evans in deep right field throws out a Blue Jay. Damn. Couldn't understand why Manny Ramirez got his number 24, but...there's still hope!

I sooooo loved the U.S. Superstations during the early- to mid-'90s before UPN and The WB ruined it all.

Uh, TV38 was not a "superstaton", it was local. It was aquired by UPN, which merged with TV56 a few years ago.
smialek316 3 years ago
Actually, it was a regional superstation...my local cable system here on LI, NY carried it from the mid-80s until mid-94.

Ugh! I long for the days when the Sox were on channel 38
Meanwhile, who'da thought back in 86 that Clemens would end up a fat, washed-up BALCO head?

Anyone remember TV-38's mid/late 80s Bruins promos, which featured a modified version of Glenn Frey's "The Heat is On"? ("The game is on/TV-38!")

Unfortunately no, he hasn't since a few years into UPN 38, I think. His voice is heard 680 WRKO though.

Boston Red Sox Baseball on WSBK, TV-38 has won "Outstanding Sports Programming, Play-By-Play" for their 5th consecutive year from 1982-86.
