  • PSJ825R and her sister were built on to the end of an order of 62 similar vehicles for South Yorkshire Transport and so are largely to SYT spec. Some of the SYT Ailsas were bought by Eastern Scottish in 1986 for use on competitive services in the Edinburgh area. This clip brings back memories of these buses!

  • @StevieO1974 Thanks for that StevieO1974, 825 even has the exact same orange interior and seat trim as the south yorkshire ones

  • @andyrad29 The only thing PSJ825R doesn't have are the Bus Stopping signs which featured on the SYPTE examples. It was quite a common practice back then for independents buying new buses to have them built as extras to big-fleet orders - A1 also had a number of Atlanteans with Roe bodies to WYPTE spec. I can also remember OK Motor Services taking a Seddon Pennine 7/Plaxton Supreme on the back of an Eastern Scottish order, and Weardale taking an Atlantean/Roe to Leeds CT spec.

  • Awesome! So great to see this old machine thrashing around again! I hope she is well cared for in her new home. She whistles too!

I must say andyrad29, your collection of Ailsa VanHool and Black Prince videos is absolutely superb, the best on the net!
