  • why is this cymbal so expensive? My East PRO 17" crash sounds twice as good for less than half of the price of this cymbal

  • i got the 18 inch fast crash and its the sexiest cymbal EVER!

  • sounds so heavy >.<

  • This doesn't sound like my master's one.

My master has got the same cymbal, but it's better.

    Why? Audio quality?

  • @TharEross Master?

  • @LUK3FAULK I mean my drum teacher.

  • @TharEross i have an A Custom 18" crash too, i think it sounds much better in reality. Most cymbals does. Of course it's the sound quality, but also that it's much easier to hear what the cymbal's really like when you use it for real with other drums and music, it's very hard to hear how good the cymbal is if you just listen to when it's played alone.

  • For the life of me I don't know what I hit to add that Video below. I'm not even sure I'm in the right Video. Guys were discussing entry level pie's. Just wanted to show some of the younger guys out there. That there's more than 3 brands of cymbals out there. Personally I think Wuhan's " New Traditional " series are an excellent entry level Cymbals. Hand made from B20 bronze. T

  • why sounds like crap?

  • I have this same cymbal but mine sounds so terrible. Is there any reason why?

  • @Yellowrcheese you buy it off ebay?

  • I'm a professional drummer and I use the Zildjian ZHT(with a ZBT Splash). ZHT has a nice sound and a great price.

  • @DEADMANSJOURNAL

Name? I would love to hear you playing.

  • @DEADMANSJOURNAL Biggest load of shit in the world. If you are a pro you will know that cast bronze is the way forward not ZHT. Interesting Grohl uses 24" ZHT ride in them crooked vultures!

  • A Customs are my favorite! I just bought a brand new A Custom 18" crash and I love it! I'm also playing with 14" A Custom Mastersound hats. They sound great!

  • wich is the diferencewith the rezo crash and the normal crash???

  • Rezo is a distinct pattern on the cymbal that gives it a different sound. Looks kinda like a target.

  • zbt's are great. They aren't nessecarily bad cymbals, just because they're cheap! I use zbt's and i use them to play live with my band. They are cool. I like them very much. I can't see the problem. You know. It's simply waste of money to buy one cymbal for like the price of three cymbals, that are great. I can't see the deal?

  • Completley agree bro. I love the sound of zbt's and the price is a freakin steal! they only problem though is that they aren't very durable (at least for me). But i've recently found a new fad with meinl cymbals, mainly because i like crashing on my ride ad meinls ride crash amazing!

  • ZBTs aren't bad cymbals at all. for the PRICE.. but sound quality? they lack. You should be able to hear the difference between a cymbal that costs as much as 3 ZBTs. Otherwise, you either don't have an ear for it.. It's mostly personal preference, but High end cymbals are made of different materials. This A Custom is MUCH better than a ZBT. No question. NOT a waste of money

  • i see what your saying but if your going to buy sheet cymbals sabian b8 are way more killer

  • Yeah. I had the choice between zbt's and sabian b8's. And I choose the zbt's. I googled it. And there was diskussions of which brand you should get. And I choose the zbt's. I think they look better. Ofcourse there's a difference between cymbals. And I may have been a little upset, but just think they are great as starters, eventhough i'm no starter. But I will upgrade to k's or a's when I get money! (:

  • you should know that mainly, looks shouldn't be a priority, secondly i'd say zildjian are more jazz and rather fine sound while sabian is more rock and metal, a little more mighty sound

  • @aliaz94 well, your first mistake was basing your decision on looks. Sound should be the only factor in your decision on cymbal purchases.

  • @nickmeadrums Sabian B8 are a pile of poo, I have them and they are clangy and make your ears bleed seriously....

  • im looking for a good china cymbal that'll go well with my current kit:

    VBX Pearl Vision

    Zildjian A Custom series: 16" crash 18" crash 20" ride 10" splash 14" hats

    any help appreciated thanks!

  • I lovee my 18" A series China High.

But i'd say if you can, go and test some out in person.

  • i would just get an 18 - 20" A Custom china.

  • A customs sound awesome, Even the 18-19'' inchers have those warm overtones. But about the Z customs being dark , It really depends on what you buy. I use an 18''inch medium crash with my A customs and the complement each other.

  • just got a custom projection crash 18, i love a custom, whats the best sounding a custom cymbal on the market?

  • Zildjian 19" A Custom Projection Crash in Brilliant finish

  • my dream cymbal ..

i did a gig the other day and the drummer of the band W.I.T had the 18 and 16 of these... he put my zxt's to shame :(

  • lol ive been drumming for 6 years and i just got my first set of real cymbals like an A custom crash and armand 20inch ride and some others ..its all a learning experience i was using ZBTs for ages

  • i have an avedis 16 inch crash which has a 1.5 inch crack in it and is about 15 years old and it is my favorite cymbal in my set up minus the b8 ride which i use as a crash. just goes to show how great this line is.

  • Ive never been a fan of the the Z customs because they are just too damn heavy. They are dark and have a very long sustain. They dont have that "glassy" quality that the A customs or sabian AA/ AAX's have.

  • hey there

    i need your help.

ive got a 14 '' a custom hi hat and a 17'' a custom crash im looking for a second crash now

would the 18 a custom fit in there?

  • yes it probably would. I myself have the same set up but i have a 16" a custom and i love it. sounds great and is really satisfying.

But the 18" would probably be great also.

  • this goes out to anyone:

what can you say about that cymbal?

i'm looking to buy one of those but i haven't tried one out yet for myself.

i'm looking for a crash that could cut through the other cymbals' sounds nicely.

  • Pure awesomeness. Buy one. NOW! :)

  • 16"s are great for that. I have one and I absolutly love it. But the 18" will have a more explosive sound i imagine. very heavy sounding. Kind of like if you were to crash a ride

  • You could also try an 18" Projection Crash

  • Alright. Thanks. I'll try them both.

  • Projection crashes are beast man.

    Monsters. lol

  • if any one knows is there a zildjian crash that has a similar or exactly same sound as the sabian 18" HHX Studio Crash its really pissing me off i cant find a cymbal to complement my zildjian 18" medium-thin crash

  • wy not just buy the sabian one if its the sound u want, dot get hung up on 1 brand, i use paiste and sabian and theyyyyyyyyre greeeeeat : )

  • Besides.. The maker of Sabian used to work at Zildjian, so there is really no reason not to mix those a bit :)

  • i already found a cymbal to mach and for half the hhx

  • Paiste pst5's are brilliant. So are the alphas. Amazing quality.

  • very nice. how much?

  • haha...

  • please help me!.. to all drummers out there, I in need your expert advices.. what do you think is the best cymbals that is not that expensive?... aside from a customs and K.. i cant afford them.. is sabian b8 or paiste 101 better than Zildjian ZBT?? please reply tnx..

  • honestly, never get zildjian zbt cymbals. I don't like their sound much at all. I've been using regular zildjian A cymbals, which are slightly less expensive than A customs. I'm not too familiar with Sabians. I've only ever really tried Zildjian. I do know Sabians are cheaper, but just go to a store and try them out. See what gives a nice full sound that doesn't sound too trashy. Cheap cymbals are the ones that sound more like dropping a penny vs. dropping a quarter.

  • zildjian zbt sucks!!! I have b8's and I like them a lot. The only problem is that with the crash, you have to hit it pretty hard to get a good sound. I absolutely love the Paiste PST 5's though and for only around 300.00 they compare with a customs.

  • yeah i had a set of pst 5's right before getting my sabian aax's and your totally right, paistes are very comparable in quality

  • i'll choose d- none of the above hehehe to tell you the truth sabian b8, in my opinion i don't like those cymbals... i think you should get Zildjian A thats what i have and its cool!

  • theyre completely different from one another hahaa there is nooo comparison

Sabian b8 is b8 alloy and sheet

Zildjian A is b20 alloy and cast

  • i think paiste cymbals are all sheet, but all metals were cast at some time or other.

  • I have a full set of B8's (6 including hats for around $300) and I've really grown to like them. They aren't exactly for soft playing as the other said, you might have to smash them a little to get them to sing, but by my experience what they say about cymbals "aging" (the more you play them the better they sound) is absolutely true. They don't seem as clangy now as they used to. If you're really picky with your sounds, you might want to get 1 or 2 XS20's but if you're just starting out and

  • have a tight budget then go for the B8s by all means.

  • I have zildjian zXt's. they're slighter newer than zbt's and they're obviously not great, but they're pretty solid. I'm hopefully upgrading to zildjian A or A custom or Meinl Byzance very soon though.

  • i was actually going to get a set of meinl byzance but there extremelyyyyy inconsistent, only get the cymbal if you hear that particular one, pretty much every cymbal sounds drastically different from one another. only get it if ur sure thats the one you want, theyre practically impossible to replace if anything happens, instead i got sabian aax i lovee them. but its all preference

  • paiste cymbals are extremely consistent because they dont sell a cymbal unless it sounds exactly the same as the maser cymbal. i prefer this system.

  • i play all a customs now, but my old sabian xs cymbals weren't bad. you can get them used and their basically indestructible. they were my first cymbals and i think they should be yours too.

  • get paiste 101 or pst 5's because the B8's are just like Zildjian ZBT they are the cheapest and worst of the companies' cymbals. so def dont waist it on B8 please or ZBT...hope this helps

  • ZBT is actually okay, B8 isn't the best. Avedis is amazing, but it is so expensive, ZBT are your first cymbals, then move on to better ones once you get the money. i am starting to move on to A Custom from ZBT. i have three cymbals from ZBT and a wuhan china, Recently i got an Avedis (A) Custom 10" Splash, it's over $100 but 100% worth the money, it sounds so much better than cheap splashes. btw, you think B8 and ZBT are cheap, look at SOLAR or PLANET Z. even worse, made of recycled scrap metal

  • in my oppinion b8 are a hell of a lot better than zbt, i have a b8 18" china and it sounds great, more than holds its own against my othr more expensive cymbals

  • zildjian zhts make zbt d8 sound like crap and zht has the only sheet bronze mastersounds you know ruffled bottom and really nice sound and very affordable

  • Zildjan Avedis Custom 18 '' Projection Crash--only if you want to jizz in your pants...Honest advice: Cymbals are an investment, your better off saving up to buy quality for the long run. Bite the bullet baby.

  • Awesome man! I wish I had it! :D

How much did it cost? :)

    5/5 :P

  • hey is this the fast crash or normal medium

  • heey mates!

I wanted toi ask a question.. I'ce got a 21" a custom projection ride, an 18" a custom crash, a 10" a custom splash and 13" A custom/Z custom hi hats (I've got an a custom on the top and a z custom on the bottom).

I'm looking for another crash, and I was thinking about a K custom, or K custom hybrid, or follow buying A's. I was wondering if K's would match right, 'cause I wanted to give my set a different sound, a bit of variety, but evreything must match.

    Thanks on advance!

  • Well a 16 or a 19 K Dark crash would fit in nicely. :)

  • Have u tried the zildjian website? its got a really useful configurator and will probably help u...alot

  • would an A custom crash go any good with k hi hats??

  • i would recommend staying with k

  • anyone who knows a video where this cymbal is being used in a actual song or something? I want to know if it's worth buying..

  • they're definitely worth buying. just they crack pretty easy.

  • indeed i've alredy lost a 14" and a 16" a costum. im gonna start buyin' k costum. recorded with them, they sound fabulous, and are really tough!

  • if you try buying them at guitarcenter you can pay a little extra for the guarantee and if you crack a cymbal with like 2 years or so then you get a check for however much you spent on the cymbal. Definitely worth checking that out

  • thats extremely cool! thanks for the tip, dude :)

  • no problem I've cracked tons of cymbals and the only money i lose is the $20 for the guarantee so its like $20 a cymbal haha

  • Carnifex, Slit wrist Saviour live on youtube. He uses them.

  • I've just got that crash along with the Zildjian AC mastersaund Hihats ...

    I'm in love..!!!!

  • Ok, let's just forget this and accept that FremontMetalHead has no idea what he's talking about. End of discussion.

  • Too true. He is a dick!

  • I was speaking from a broad point of view, I said there were exceptions...

Anyway, the argument's over. We both admitted we were partially wrong and right through PM. But thanks for your useless input - it was clearly necessary.

  • Twat, such a complete twat haha. Twat!

  • I don't get it. Who are you talking to? It's over... you're too late, attention whore.

  • nice crash!

  • why is it that every time someone shows their cymbal they do that extremely generic jazz swing retarded beat.

  • they do it just to piss you off im pretty sure.

  • lLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why not?? retard.

  • because its annoying. and everyone does it.

  • well your not gonna force like 3 million people not to do it just becuz you dont like it. retard.

  • your a fagget. im just sayin i hate that beat and its annoying and everyone does it so shutup.

  • ok you know what im gonna shut up now. not because im scared of you (hell bein scared of you would be like sayin clinton is gonna be president) but you know, arguing on you tube is like running in the special olympics, your never gonna win. once again RETARD!

  • because it is standard. it shows the cymbal well.

  • a custom CRASHES are thin, fast crashes are PAPER THIN, an projection and medium are medium thin, trust me I've hade one of each different crashes

  • i think is medium-thin but not thin!

  • i agree. the sound is to dark for a thin crash.

  • Uhh, lol, that's the way it works. The thinner, the darker; the heavier, the brighter.

  • no, thats exactly the opposite of how it works.

  • Let me reiterate:

K Customs are extremely thin cymbals and have a dark tone - A Customs are no different. Meanwhile, heavy crashes have bright overtones with longer decay, which is why it sounds "dark" to untrained ears. It's clear who's the actual drummer here. Go learn something.

  • You might want to take some advice from, bender364, he has the exact answer right on the money. Obviously you are the one with the "untrained ears," because like I said before, and will keep repeating it, you have it exactly the opposite way. Here, let me spell it out for you. THINNER=BRIGHTER! THICKER=DARKER! Do you get it now? I have a Sabian AAX 16 inch studio crash, and it is a thin cymbal, so its bright. Also, a Sabian AA 18 inch rock crash. It is thick, so there it sounds darker.

  • You're so daft it's amazing. Instead of proving it, you're just reiterating to the opposite side for the sake of it. It's common knowledge that I'm right. If YOU don't believe me, go to any drummers forum and ask. Your ears are clearly deceiving you; you know nothing. Just because you have your mind set on something doesn't make it right. My evidence is based on simple physics - the way sound waves travel and are produced. There are exceptions, but generally speaking, I'm right.

  • You should take some advice from YOURSELF this time. All I know is, I am right. At least I have someone that agrees to the same thing as me. You have NO ONE to back you up. So, kid, PLEASE speak before you think, ok? Oh, and that comment against the guy who had spelling errors is complete bullshit. Who cares how anyones spells. ITS THE INTERNET! If you can't deal with it, then don't bother saying anything at all. Thats all there is to it. Oh and you don't have to ask forgiveness to me.

  • I'll be posting a link in your comment section on your YouTube page to a thread I made on a drummer's forum to show you how wrong you are and how many people are backing ME up. All I can tell you right now, though, is that your one person agreement pales in comparison to mine.

As for your other ramblings, get over yourself; the guy calls me stupid and can't spell a sentence. The irony is too hilarious to not point out, get it?

  • Fuck you duchebag, leave him alnoe. You are s bloody ignorant.

  • frenibtnetalhead, your a twat, its completely the opposite of what you said. any1 with common sense could work that out

  • Ay, first of - learn how to spell. Anyone with common sense could work out that you suck at that.

Second - K Customs are extremely thin cymbals and have a dark tone - A Customs are no different. Meanwhile, heavy crashes have bright overtones with longer decay, which is why it sounds "dark" to untrained ears. It's clear who's the actual drummer here. Go learn something.

  • actually, it is. k's are really thin. and very dark. and so are aax's i use those. and they are pretty thin and dark too.

  • a custom CRASH is medium

  • a custom crash is thin, fast crash is paperthin and projection and medium crashes are medium

  • you can tell its a crash by the size of the bell on it tho

  • y does everyone do that same dumbass jazz beat like how the guy did in the beginning....shits wack

  • Dude I know this is 2 months old but I so f*cking agree with you that jazz beat is really annoying if you guys didn't notice.

  • haha..yah it is..but that crash is nice:)

  • is it thin or what?

  • yes, the ones labeled with the A CUSTOM CRASH is thin. the ones A CUSTOM PROJECTION CRASH are medium-thin.

  • kool! thnx!

  • A customs are nice but finger prints stick to them like glue...

  • oh shit.

    tell me about it.

i used to spend hours polishing mine but now ive just given up.

    i own 5 a custom cymbals

  • get some groove juice.

    works unbelivably good.

  • yeah my ride has finger marks all over it

  • your ride? is there any need to touch it?

  • yes when i take it to gigs...

  • when you play a short crash on the ride you need to stop it with your hand

  • LOL!

  • i miss mine. i broke that thing in half =[ but i got a costume hybrid 19' its amazing. i also ordered some new symbols (14 hihat, 19 crash and 22 ride all sabian aa-metal ) im going to put a vid up when i get them

  • nice cymbal, I love a custom series ;)

  • I can't get a good ride sound if my 18" a custom crash.

  • i like, maybe i buy it for use to a crash-ride

  • I think the a zildjian medium thin is better for crash-riding because its the same weight as the cymbals meant for crash rides.

  • for sure, I had this cymbal and you can hear it on this video that it rings out too fast for a ride. I use a 19" medium thin for a sizzle ride and it's perfect.
