  • its more powerful than kung fu, the elbows and knees dosen´t use in the kung fu forms

  • @hiperdeco09 Doubt it

  • interesting...it looks quite effective and very useful...

  • @MegaCocoman it seems siilar to kung fu beause kung fu was made to beat muay boran

  • @Rizape i dissagre my friend, thailand never had conflicts with china, only with birmania, but you are right..using the vitla presuure pints of kung fu can easily beat a muay thai opponent, but if this opponent has knowledge of muay boran...kung fu is usless...

  • THIS IS REAL MUAY THAI!!!!! it seems so similar to kung fu...

  • Whats the name of this dvd?

  • buakaw is awesome, he fights similar to bruce lee, jet li, and ong bak, and he looks similar to nosferatu zodd, and akuma. i wanna c muay thai vs muay boran someday.

  • HOLY SHIT!! This looks like okinawan karate.

  • @jjhaywood Yeah, just with slightly different and more elbows and knees, but othwerwise I was thinking the same thing!

  • The Japanese word, kata, can be roughly translated as form, a kind of shadow boxing which applies karate techniques in a series of memorized patterns. But to those who really understand kata training know that there is much more to it than that.

  • Does anyone know the Thai term for forms? I know kata is the more well-known term, but out of respect for the art I think it's better to use terms they would use.

  • Thanks.

In Karate we also practice the high X-block.

  • he have a huge diaper :I

  • i wish i could go off and live in the words for a year to learn this

  • OSU! I do Koei Kan which uses Naha ten and Shuri te. It is also very chinese connected to its roots of a form of Kung Fu. I see here how all the martial arts are

related but differ idealistically like here the katas parry but at least in what I learned so far in koei kan's pinan katas throws are hidden every where.

  • I want to learn this!

  • It's very interesting to see Muay Thai katas. I didn't think they practiced them.

  • @hulkout666 They don't Muay Boron is the same like Karate. There are different paths, Muay Thai being one of them them evolved from Muay Boron...

  • Its called Boran not boron.

  • @ShortSurferBoy From what I've seen here, starting with block and then retaliation, Muay Boran's tactics resemble more traditional martial arts like Kung Fu and Karate. Plus, with modern sports Muay Thai, roundhouses are thrown full circle (body spins around on toe unless it hits something solid). Here, the leg is retracted, much like a Karate Mawashigeri with the foot flat on the ground - less momentum, but more control.

  • this is VERY similar to the techniques used in shotokan karate.

  • @Patcherson coz thailand and okinawa were very related in medieval times

  • I bought those vid's also, weren't very interesting except when the old man moved, but i think what he showed isn't much related to what the younger demonstrator showed, looked more like "bad karate" to me!

I think muay chaiya has more depth you should check on "baanchangthai" channel and also about lanna style (north of thailand) "kinglanna" channel

  • I thought that Chaiyuth was a combination of different ancient styles because it has boxing walks from diffrent styles of ancient muay thai. Could you post the part with the boxing walks.

  • @sdjudoka Youtube user chingonraza already have a clip on it from the same video series, called "Thai Boxing Walks". Atleast for me it is in the related videos list to this videoclip.
