  • Endorsing a gospel of bombs where there is none. When Dobson allowed Sean Hennedy to appear on his radio program and proclaim "America has been blessed with the most powerfull military that has ever existed. If we do not use it to liberate the world, God will judge us".

I wanted to rip my radio out of the dash and toss it out the window. After this proclamation, I regulate Dobson to another false treacher.

  • if the unMoral Majority formed their own party it would be given the same level of respect as the Dems and Reps ... and this isnt right when other independents are givent hat respect.

  • James Dobson is an arrogant, self-righteous Pharisee. He is precisely the sort of person for whom Jesus Christ had the sharpest condemnation.

  • Correction: The Dow dropped to 9,955 on 10/6/08 not 10/8/08.

  • Republicans aren't to blame. A little over 1 year ago: The economy was good; regular gas was $2.19; the Dow hit 14,093 (10/8/08).

Liberals kept harping about Iraq; many wanted change. In 2006 they voted in a Democrat congress: Consumer confidence plummeted; gas went to over $4; home equity dropped by over $12 trillion; the Dow dropped to 9,955 (10/8/08); investment portfolios lost $2.5 trillion.

The Dems gave us change that we're gagging on and B.O. wants to give us more?

    JUST SAY NO!

  • A recent poll revealed that 1/3 of the country will always vote republican because of "moral issues", even if the republican nominate satan himself.

  • So you're saying even though Bush has destroyed our economy, got us into an unnecessary war, and forever tarnished the reputation of the US, you vote republican because every four years they hint at ending abortion and stopping gay marriage, then forget about those "moral issues" don't act on them, and don't mention them till the next election year. HAHA, the republicans know the religious right is a bunch of suckers. And people wonder why Americans are so stupid these days.

  • These "religious leaders" are just additional mouthpieces for the two party sham. The lesser of two evils is still evil. Don't waste your vote, vote your conscience in a "third" party.

  • neosailor

A VOTE FOR ANY OTHER CANDIDATE IS JUST THROWING YOUR VOTE AWAY.

MAYBE THAT'S WHAT YOUR HOPING FOR. ARE YOU AN OBAMA SUPPORTER? BECAUSE A VOTE FOR ANYONE ELSE IS A VOTE FOR OBAMA.

WHEN HAS AN INDEPENDENT WON THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.

A VOTE IS TOO PRECIOUS TO WASTE ON THIS EVIL MAN.

    MC CAIN-PALIN "COUNTRY FIRST"

  • In reality, these organizations only seek to ensure that the corporate warlords stay in power in order to invade other countries for their resources (diamonds, oil) and land (i.e., what happened to the American Indians).

These phonies are the furthest thing from God's Word or His teachings.

  • Many Americans, ESPECIALLY the gullible Christian right minions who follow false prophets and supposed "Men of God" like Dobson, don't realize that these conservative religious organizations were formed only to further political/corporate agendas. They use end-of-times rhetoric, fear tactics, and tired, old issues like gays, abortion and family values to rally and mobilize their base, and use ghostwriters to write their so-called "family values" books for the Left Behind crowd.

  • Obama is God's choice and don't think for a minute that God agrees with any of these preachers spoken of. God is about to judge his people before he judges this world. Just wait, you'll see!

  • Just goes to show you the kind of hypocrite Dobson is. The Religious Right is a miniscule minority within the GOP, and I know this because I am a REAL Republican...and REAL Republicans would be wise to steer clear of such wingnuts who stretch the facts and contradict the truth.

  • This ignorant fool called loudly and publicly for his follower's to pray to God for rain to ruin the Democratic National Convention closing rally and Obama's speech at the stadium in Denver last week.

    Gee, the weather was perfect.

    What happened Jamesy?

And what's with that big 'ol divine wind HURRICANE that's about to Godsmack the Republican Convention this week.

    What's with THAT?

Gee, kinda seems to me that God must be a....

    DEMOCRAT!!!

  • Chuck Baldwin has my vote!!!!

What I cannot figure out ..is why James Dobson isn't supporting him yet..of course ..it is still early.

  • You use people as a chess player uses pawns to forfill your own agenda. Try reading one of Dobsons books, you might have a better understanding about him instead of stereotyping him.

  • Don't think so. Dobson is delusional and this video shows part of it.

  • I kind of thought SA was kind of dick-ish, but I agree with him more and more with each video I watch.

  • Excellent video; the whole business of the far right commentators opposing McCain for a few minutes was all an orchestrated campaign.

It was meant to convince people that McCain was not one of them. Except he is. On almost every issue that is REALLY important to them (i.e. shifting all the wealth and power to the very top) he is lock step with them.

  • I lost a lot of respect for Dr. Dobson for supporting McCain when he KNEW Chuck Baldwin is running. Chuck Baldwin stands for more Christian values than McLame ever will. His support of Baldwin would have done great things for the Constitution Party and he threw it away. Shame on you, Dr. Dobson.

  • Awesome video.

  • These false prophets are dangerous and should be avoided. Follow Jesus not his self appointed disciples.

  • YEP!

As usual SA, you have hit the proverbial nail on the head!

    Thank you!

  • I love this commentary but I have to disagree with one point. The Christian Right didn't give Rudy G. the time of day because of his scandalous background even after he got the endorsement from Pat Robertson. This gives me a little hope.

  • We've got Pat Robertson's organization down the road. People should go by their own beliefs and see how it relates to the candidates instead of just going by the opinion of people they look up to; especially since those types of people just might let down their followers.

  • I am now a fan! try a video on the fact that John McCain's wife stole prescriptions from a charity to obtain pain killers & got away with it. On jay Leno she said she simply stopped taking them after being addicted. Anyone with a brain knows that is impossible. Also feature her stolen recipes! LOL, GREAT STUFF!

  • Social issues have always been used with political issues interchangeably to charge up the Republican base. Perhaps this is Dobsons way of asking "Christians" to vote for McCain even though it has nothing to do with real political issues or where or what McCain actually stands for. Go figure...

  • 5 stars, as usual.

  • Well, from the abusive nature of his idea of breaking the will of your children to his callous "tough love" I have already decided that Dobson is a callous and despicable human being and so it is no surprise to me that he could be unprincipled an blown in any direction by the political wind.

I might also note that I'm not happy with the idea of not getting Ron Paul, but Chuck Baldwin is higher in my consideration than Barr right now. No chance I'll back McCain or Obama.

  • I will not vote for McCain or Obama, but I am going to defend Obama on this one. James the homophobe Dobson needs to do some more research on Obama. Obama has come under fire from the white guilt sect of the black community for saying one of the things keeping the black community down is it's high % of fatherless homes and idolization of material possessions over planning for the future. Obama DOES stress the important of families, not that it's a politicians job to do so though.

  • Without a doubt the two parties are nothing more than denomonations... Talkshows are church services with their host preist of their parties messages. If it where true conservetive radio, Bob Barr would be their man.

    Go Bob Barr

  • Just called the office of Focus on the Family and told them my issues with the religious right and their views on this election. I would urge others to ask them two things. 1. If James Dobson opposed McCain early on and he has no qualms with voting on principle, why not Chuck Baldwin? 2. McCain has not gotten the nomination so why not champion people to take a stand at the convention against the candidate or at least the policy of the candidate? That number again is 719-531-3427

  • I sincerely believe the religious right is needed to get in our corner to help when this battle for freedom. I am absolutely amazed at what has happened to members of the values voters, some of which are members of my own family. This propaganda machine with leaders such as James Dobson care little about principle so why should we expect his avid fans too? The Republican Party has more sway in their decision than the Bible they profess to live by.

  • Call: 719-531-3427 and tell Dr. Dobson what you think about this. I have and they are receptive to this. I also just emailed them the link to this video and hope that it will change his mind.

    VOTE CHUCK BALDWIN!!!

  • It's men like Dobson why I'm not religious. People who love nothing more than to use God's name in vain (what made anyone think that Commandment was only about cursing?) to satisfy their egos. Still, this stuff is no longer surprising to me.

  • You should never allow what other men do or think effect your relationship with God.

  • I don't. That's why I'm not religious. I have my own view on religion that you will disagree with. Most people would, but it's where my soul searching has led me to thus far. But do understand, I am not an atheist. I'm more of a deist, if I understand the definition correctly.

  • Right on, SA!

  • Southern Avenger 2008! :)

  • So many leaders these days are willing to sacrifice principles for party. Will Dr. Dobson be the next on the list? It is difficult to trust someone who goes back on his or her word...

  • This is really sad. Dobson thinks that McCain is his only other choice?

Has he never heard of the Constitution Party, or the Libertarian Party? Oh, wait, he's more concerned about winning than about standing up for principle. Silly me... (Of course, if he actually thinks McCain has a chance this year, he's in for an unpleasant surprise.)

I would give Dobson a lot more credit if he just stuck to family issues, which he knows something about, and stayed out of politics.

  • James Dobson is a Whore.

  • 5 stars SA

  • It's all invariably linked and beyond the scope of true loyalty. Even McCains dismissal of John Hagee was for political reasons and not over any set of ideals. Where's the love today?

  • Just because something makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean you have to legislate against it. John Edwards made a very bold statement when he admitted he's against gay marriage but would never use that as a wedge to divide people or deny them their rights because the law should lift people up, not bring them down.

  • Goldwater also knew that unions were important, although he did believe that they could get too strong at times. He didn't decry all unions as being "unamerican" or "socialist." Goldwater believed in privacy and civil liberties. He was hawkish on the Cold War but far from a neocon. Goldwater believed not only in business deregulation but also deregulation when it comes to personal liberty and bedroom matters. Goldwater NEVER believed in the imperial presidency. He was a true conservative.

  • Lastly, Goldwater knew that just because you don't like something or think it's immoral, as long as no one is hurt from the behavior, frankly, who the hell cares? Goldwater knew that people had various values when it comes to political issues, and he never said "Mine is the best." He was humble, as all conservatives and liberals should be. Goldwater was the one who got me interested in politics after I read a biography. He realized personal AND economic liberty were equally important.

  • True conservatives need to band together and reject these false prophets as well as the neocons. Conservatives also have to stop fearing a little environmentalism. You don't have to be radicals, but protecting the environment just a little bit for our health and safety isn't "unamerican." After all, TR was a Republican conservationist. True conservatives should form a coalition and party based on real conservatism, the kind Barry Goldwater advocated, not this perversion the GOP is today.

  • Goldwater knew that separation of church and state is crucial, since a theocracy always cheapens religion. Religion should be an individual matter first, and private individuals should band together for certain causes, but they should never force their beliefs down anyone's throats or pretend to be the "guardians" of society, when this isn't theirs or mine or any single person's country. This is EVERYONE'S America. Christian conservatives today tend to forget that.

  • The Christian Right, you could say, has caused the GOP as a whole to lose 20 or more IQ points since the late 70s. They have always been on the wrong side of things. I don't even think most Americans actually look up to guys like Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell. These people are nutjobs. They are exactly the kind of false prophets that Jesus warned about. It's no surprise that they hardly ever mention anything Jesus actually said in the Gospels and focus more on the Old Testament.

  • You can go to the APA's own website, for example, and find plenty of studies and results information regarding the "negative effects" on kids of gay adoption. The fact of the matter is, gays are just as able to raise effective children as straights! There's no dispute among scientists who've actually done research on this. But the ideologue Bible thumpers on the Right continue to substitute blind ideology for research and logic and actual facts. It's nonsense! I wish this movement would die

  • The Christian Right has been little more than a bane on our political system. They've done nothing to advance the causes of helping the poor or fighting global warming. In fact, most of their leaders say "It's a hoax" over and over w/o any real scientific background to back it up. They have so many political beliefs that are opposite of what Jesus intended when it comes to progressive issues and tolerance. Bible thumpers are nothing but fake Christians. False prophets are their leaders.

  • I really can't stand the Religious Right. Their arrogance never ceases to amaze me. Who are they say what is and isn't moral when it comes to consensual behavior among adults, esp. in private??? Who are they to petition and get states to ban gay marriage just because they and other like-minded Americans think it's "sick" or (out of some twisted logic) believe legalizing it would actually kill the family? There's no proof this would happen, and the APA disproves fears of gay adoption.

  • If it wasn't for the Religious Right, the Republican party wouldn't have any voters left, except the KKK and rich welfare queens. Oh, and the "let's bomb everybody" freaks.

Conservative means nothing except "anyone who disagrees with me is a liberal!" It's been that way since Nixon.

  • Off your meds again?

  • Billyothon - you forgot to call me a "liberal." Go ahead you know you want to!

  • I would, but your membership in the John Birch Society kinda disqualifies you for that label.

  • Each thing evokes its opposite.

  • I don't see why people who supposedly support private property are so willing to prevent a woman from fully owning her body. And yes, I believe that babies are human at conception, if anyone intended to reply with a straw man of that nature.

  • I met Chuck Baldwin last week at the march. Seemed like a really nice guy.

  • I've never understood what Christians see in Dobson.

  • 5/5 Once again SA. The neocon evangelists are a skid mark on the underwear of the conservative movement.

  • Yes. I'm a christian / Ron Paul fan boy and I have to work with a christian boss that blindly supports everything neo con. It makes me a sad panda.

  • Man, you think you got it bad, my whole immediate family are neocon warmongerers. they support legislating morality, and intervening in every nation in the world. I debate them nearly everyday about these issues and it scary for me to realize that I used to be a neocon.
