no, you dont move away from the hit, think about it. when some one is hit head on they can fly foward thru the windshield. This video was pretty freak though.

It's sort of like whiplash. The car is hit, not the body, so the car gets pushed away. The body doesn't move the other direction of the force, it actually stays in the same place as the car gets pushed away (inertia). Eventually the body will hit the doors, the head will hit the window or break through it.

Try standing on a towel and have a friend pull it from underneath you...see what happens. It's the same principle.

Also, same thing when you have a frontal impact you fly forward until the seatbelt stops you. This is because the car is decellerating, but you aren't.

If you get hit from the back, you get smashed into your backrest because the car gets accelerated, but your body doesnt until it hits the seat.
