  • anybody know how to clean these pads??? im a newb and i dont have that machine that meguiars make to clean them, any suggestions on how to clean them

  • @MrLIFEISTOOSHORT you can use the system2000 or wpw pad washer on a rotary. You can also use a simple toothbrush which is not the best but is used by many people in the market. The best way is a system2000 or WPW pad washer.

  • Thanks alot your right the machine was to high of speed lol all fixed now keep up the great work guys love your products and will def continue to use them

  • I used this stuff on my Ceyenne and It left the surface of my car hazy for some odd reason please guide me on how to get this fixed thank you

  • @boosting21 You may have had the speed too high or your clear coat could be soft. Try to use a light cleaner like a polish. Is your paint clearcoat or single stage paint? You can test this by rubbing the compound on the surface....if the towel/pad turns the same color as the car...its a single stage paint. Usually these paints haze easier than clears.

  • This compound is awesome... I bought an older explorer for work that worked great but the paint was just plain nasty.. I used this compound with a buffer like the one used in the video and it instantly made the paint look glossy and feel smooth. Before I did that, the paint looked a littly ashy and dry and felt like it had gunk stuck to it. I then finished it off meguiars ultimate cleaner wax. Awesome...no swirl marks or holograms.. My truck looks nice now and get compliments on how shiny it is.

  • what speed is best to use when i'm using a da and ultimate compound on my entire car?

  • If I have minor scratches in the clear coat (from an automatic car wash) do I use scratch remover 2.0 on the whole car or this compound?

  • @Birdman11221 you'd use this compound.

  • @meguiarsasia whats better for swirl removal as well as oxidation

  • @EeLaMSaRu if you want two in one...this would be your best bet.

  • Why is he using a black pad? Isn't this meant for use with a yellow/red pad with "bite"?

  • @paulpupp3t it can be used with either the yellow or black pad with a DA.....DA's should not be used with the red pad since that could cause micro-marring or haze when on a DA. Yellow or black pads can be used depending how aggressive or soft you want to be.

  • Isn't your arm speed too fast to correct defects?

  • What I am doing this weekend is use the Gold Class Car Wash and wash my car, then use the Ultimate Compound and Finally use Gold Class Carnuba Wax to finish her off. I cant wait, I know this sounds sort of weird but I get an orgasm when I think about Car Cleaning Products (exterior/interior). I hope I am not the only one.

  • @mcm1337

I have the same feeling. You're not alone.

  • That model looks like a d0uche! Sorry but i just have to be honest... lol!

  • Can i use the UC and after the cleaner wax as a sealant? This would be to correct holograms, because the last time i applied wax to the car with the holograms on it, i couldn't remove the wax propperly and it took me about 5 hrs of work. Thank you!

  • @iceman50000 yes you can....even a better choice after UC would be Ultimate wax

  • Can i use the UC and after the cleaner wax as a sealant?

  • You're using the wrong pad....that's the finishing pad. With UC you should use a cutting pad, like the red or the yellow one.

  • With this work well with a polishing bonnet and a orbital wax machine ?

  • @bigdog813 sure you can do that as well

  • Comment removed

  • @yangster84 after UC, you need to use protection

  • Can i do it by hand?? and how to?

  • This stuff has been a one step rubbing compound/polisher after wetsanding my enamel paint job. It also made my headlights GLEAM.

  • is abration or not?

  • @k3ichiro yes, it cleaned off oxidation and removes medium to light defects....our strongest consumer product to clean below clearcoat issues.

  • does the Ultimate Compound works with plastic parts like bumpers?

  • Hi there , I've used Ultimate Compound with a DA and polishing pad on 2 Vauxhalls with great results , however I now have a black BMW X5 to tackle that has a lot of scratches that are no deeper than that on the Vauxhalls . The paint seems harder as I've given it a go twice and scratches stiil there ,Should I use the cutting pad on the DA?

  • Hi,

I just got my Ultimate Compound G17216 ,but what speed should i use with my buffing wheel?

Also i need new Buffing bad just like the one you used in this vid ,how can i get it.

    Please let me know

    Cheers

  • @armani9300 if you use speed 3-5 on the DA machine, that should be perfect....you can get a new pad at meguiars.com and or wherever you are...please advise where you are for me to advise you.

  • @meguiarsasia

Thanks for the reply ,im from dubai & i do have a us address that you can ship 2 in NY 11413 ,i also can pay for the items via PayPal.

    Cheers

  • god i love this product!!! i use it on all the cars i buff and it always amazes me!!!!

  • do you use this product as the first step before a polish like swirlx and then wax?

  • @Rocky777 yes your correct....this is used before a polish/wax

  • Looks the goods mate!.. whats the go with polishing over the rubber seals though?

  • @Darkrayne29 it wont turn it white....you can always use ultimate protectant to solve any small residue you have from previous jobs.

  • Great Video. I just bought a PC 7424XP with a Lake Country 6.5" Orange #3 Cutting pad, White #2 Polishing pad and Black #1 Finishing pad. Can I use the Orange #3 Cutting pad with Ultimate Compound on swirls & scratches? I'm a mobile detailer taking the next step in paint correction! Or should I step up to the Mirror Glaze Products? I've been looking at other Swirl and Scratch Removers? Thanks

  • @V12smooth if you want to really get unmatched results...I would recommend Mirror Glaze products....the ultimate compound product is the strongest solutions for consumers.

  • @meguiarsasia Thank You.

  • hey great job you guys are doing i got a black merc and has a lot of swirls what do you recommend as hand applied vs machine swrilX or your ultimate compound? thanks

  • @4jiggy1 ultimate compound should work fine for you!

  • HAHAHA I work for the Company Micro Abrasives. (In Western, MA) I have to say this stuff works. I took a business trip to California where the product is made. It's a great product. Otherwise we wouldn't sell our Abrasives to them ;)

  • will ultimate compound work on deep scratches? this morning, someone just kicked my car, and lol my car door had scratches... I have scratch x, but I tried using it the last time when polishing, some scratches wont go.

    need some advice please

    thank you

  • @superbogel if your fingernail gets stuck in the scratch...its going to be too deep....other defects, this product should remove though! its the most aggressive product for consumers from Meguiar's to clean.

  • @meguiarsasia yes I tried using my fingernail and it get a little deep indeed. anyway I can still work on it, so that I can restore the scratches?

    thank you,

    B

  • @superbogel yea you most likely have a sand and use aggressive compound and good buffer, meguiar's has a video of it.

  • here's a question: if i have water marks that have slightly etched into the paint, how well would this work paired with a cutting pad, and a Porter Cable 7424. i have black paint, and the previous owner didnt take as good care of it as i did, so im having to deal with what he left me.

  • why you used black pad with ultimate compound !

and after this step i think you need refine to bring better finish .

or the ultimate compound is very light compound ? i feel the ultimate compound similar #83.

  • our mirror glaze products and consumer are different. mirror glaze is stronger than consumer. #83 is a diminishing abrasive and takes time to break down...ultimate compound is a super micro abrasive like M105 or M205 and stays wet so it will not scratch at all. You can use this product with yellow or black pad to ensure either a stronger working area or less depending on the softness of paint and needs required.

  • can i use ultimate compound on a new car? its 5 month old. or is it suitable only for older cars with many scratches etc.?

  • yes you can...its safe for new and old alike.

  • where do i buy your guys buffer? would an orbital buffer work?

  • does the wax need to be removed before applying ultimate compound? if so, how is wax removed? i've heard of rubing alcohol, but dat don't sound right to me, putting some alcohol on the paint sounds a little harsh... thanks

  • No, wax does not need to be removed before use. This product is a cleaner and will remove the previous wax when used by hand or DA. I would not recommend using rubbing alcohol.....UC is stronger at cleaning than the wax and the previous wax will be removed once this is used.

  • ultimate compound works great, but you must finish with a good polish ppl. durr

  • @imadrunkenfooL14: isnt this a polish/cleaner all-in-one?

  • rapazim da cara fechada esse eim.

  • i got this stuff last night and it did work to take out fine little scraches but i looked at it today in the sun light and it made a really bad swirly haze in my paint that u can only see in bright sun light!

  • This is a cleaner....afterwards you are to make sure you use a polish and protectant such as tech wax 2.0. This should fix your super small haze you have.

  • It is really going to depend on how deep this old wax in embedded into your paint. If it is super severe...you would possbly need to sand, compound and then protect. I think in your case...consumer is safest and if you use this product aggressively with Ultimate Compound and a W8207 pad on a DA machine at speed 4.5 or so..that will work....follow this with Tech Wax 2.0 and maintain is either UQD or UQW. For pros...that answer would change probably... easier to respond if I can see it.

  • May i ask why the finishing pad instead of a polishing pad was used in this demo? Under what conditions would one choose this combo? I would think that it would be preferable to finish up with SwirlX, either with a polishing or finishing pad. Do you agree or disagree? TIA.

  • Great question, the finishing pad was used since this lexus was already in great shape and Ultimate Compound was used more gently with this softer pad. For most vehicles around the globe, the more aggressive polishing pad would be needed instead, it really depends on how aggressive you want to work and what result you get. SwirlX can also be used to both pads....again it all depends on what result you want and how good the paint is before you start. Thanks!

  • how would i go about getting a small (half thumb nail size) green stain (turtlewax) out of the paint on my VW T2 KOMBI, its a medium yellew.. so its fairlly noticable. the car is not clear coated. what happend was a "splodge" of wax was left on and in the sun it seemed to get baked into the paint.

yet another reason to only trust megs

  • hi i have a questuin

does it required to push hard?

  • no need to push hard. With the G220 DA the harder you push the slower the machine oscillates and the lighter you push the faster it will go, so overall the final outcome is an even result. Light to medium pressure is good.

  • I am sure it's a great product but why does he look so angry? Was he made to perform in the video? Not the best from a sales viewpoint, surprised as the old man is so brilliant himself!

  • I agree with you on that. But what bothers me most is that they used this compound on a finish which looks pretty good to begin with. I couldn't find a difference from the video in the results, and I'm not saying that with any bad intentions. It's just my point of view. Most of the time, getting a junk car with beat up paint is the best way to test a compound.

  • I agree....down the road we have planned to test the same type of product and others on all types of paint and cars to show all types of differences. Thanks for the input!

  • I will make sure to tell him to smile! haha I think he was concentrating! : )
