i don't think so. they are no toys + can get very old.

if you don't want to torture these birds, you have to buy at least 2 of them.

Yes, that's what I read. When there's just one of them, it sometimes gets crazy when being sold after some years or if the person it's used to is away for a longer time.

@Cappelenin No you don't. They are very loud, messy, demanding, hormonal, sensitive birds. They demand at least 5 hours of attention a day and cleaning up after them is a pain. They can also make you deaf. They, as well as all large birds, especially macaws and cockatoos, get very aggressive during spring breeding season. But don't get me wrong, they can give you many great years (possibly the rest of your life) of companionship and fun. But they deffinately aren't for everyone.

The put em' up all started with asking him to put up his wings. Just to be funny, my husband started making a fist and touching his beak with a fake punch sound. Chiquita himself started making the connection

If you put your fist to his peak he makes a "punch" sound. If you are not quick enough he moves his beak to touch his cage and makes a punch sound.
