For 10 dollars, this is a steal, the bottom just degrades a tiny,tiny bit. Normal tape has nothing on this.

Empirical data from our own studies has shown that the absence of tape on the bottom of the stick does not significantly alter stability of the blade.

In fact, if you still use a wood stick, we have anecdotal evidence to suggest that traditional cloth tape is actually more damaging to the blade because of its intrinsic hydro-static properties that keeps moisture locked in.

Stick tape inevitably gets wet during a game (ice builds up, melts and then gets trapped in the weaving of the cloth tape). This means that the blade is in direct contact with water and moisture for a prolonged period. As you can imagine, this likely leads to degradation of the blade's integrity. BladeTape on the other hand repels ice and water, so your blade will remain dry after your game.

More than likely, for composite blades the damage would have occurred exactly the same when you are using cloth tape, BladeTape or nothing at all. Conventional wisdom says that traditional cloth tape helps protect the blade, but a thin single layer of cloth does not provide the most solid protection.

If you are still concerned about this, many of our users have reported in trying to put a strip of cloth tape on the bottom of the blade and fasten it down using our BladeTape.

Oh man...this is like a hockey infomercial. WHAT A SHLOAD. $10 for for two strips (forehand and backhand). Please tell me people don't actually buy this stuff. You can buy 3-4 rolls of tape in the proshop for that. Maybe I should come out with SPECIAL SOCK TAPE. Yeah...that's it. $15 per application.

yea i must say i dont see this being any better than tape when it comes to all around game play (shooting/passing/stick handleing) but it is def excellent for individual skills like scooping the puck, michigans, stuff like that. more for roller hockey if you ask me tho

Try Puck Magnet grit tape. It grabs the puck because the grit fits into the dimples along the outside of a puck. The puck goes exactly where you aim it on both forehand and backhand shots without rolling along blade first. Also completley waterproof and super durable. Sells for $9.99 I think in Toronto.

yeah. pros can do that becuase the team usually supplies them with as many sticks as they want, or they have enough money to but sticks. but for regular players, most can't afford to continuously buy new sticks from the blade wearing down.

the more grip from your blade thats on the puck, the more spin your ultimately going to get. dont tape your stick and throw a hard pass down the ice, then tape your stick and try it again, its a world of a difference. The taped blade will put a spin on the puck and make it curve as it heads down the ice.
