im not gonna lie. i'd be screwed if i tried to remember half of what they were talking about in a class like this. i'd rather be out there actually doing it. i might be able to do what they are saying if i had a chatterbox in my helmet
I think about buying this bike. Why I hasitade? Because the REAL Buell makes *pocpocpocpoc* in low and *roooommmm* in high turns. The Rotax makes *rörörörör* while standing and *brrrrrrmmmm* in action.
Wait a minute. the Corvette ZR1 engine was designed by Lotus, are you suggesting that makes the Vette a foreign car? This Engine was designed by Rotax of Austria because the only American made bike engines are Harley Air-cooled Vtwins. And Buell already uses those. He needed a Water cooled engine. It's still an American made bike.
Rotax designed this engine FOR Buell to Eric Buell's specs.
oh... and by the way... Rotax... while this division is based in Austria... is owned by Bombardier of Canada... so I guess that if this isn't an American bike because of that, then all Chevy trucks (that come from Mexico) and All Chevy Camaro's (that come from Canada are all considered "Imports" too huh?

Oh wow, a buell on the race track, "All you Japanese sport bike riders, pull off two of your spark plug wires! This needs to be competitive!" Yes, I was referring to the Suzuki SV650 riders! LOL!
i appologise on behalf of aluisious for using this video to argue and cause arguments.since he has no videos of his own he feels the need to flame everyone else that has someting to offer the viewers of youtube his pointless sham and drudgery is not worth my effort to argue with so im appologising for his noobiness since he isint capable of doing this.feel free everyone to look at his lame channel with no vids to see what a noob is. thank you everyone
Idd be too scared to ride this track i remember the Laguna's corkscrew on the Gran Turismo game and wiped out there alot. hell scary track pwned me on a game lol
Actually they are about the same as a Jap 1000 (at least the 1125r is). That is a pretty good deal if you ask me. So different and these new ones have some character and performance. Seems like a really good street bike.
Thank you to whomever created this video. One comment I have in what is overall a very well made video, is it would be nice to hear what the bike sounded like rather than hearing music. I know there's wind noise, but the audible feedback from a superbike is something to behold, not something to try and dampen. Again, overall great job and thanks for sharing your work.
A Buell?!?!?? I always thought they were muscle bikes. A Buell that can perform! Are they really that good or is it Jeza' making it look good? What does the Buell have over the Ducati or the KTM or other big twins? Is it as good?
I'm really glad an American builder is finally making a good sport bike, but unfortunately it still doesn't hold water compared to Ducati, Suzuki, Honda or Yamaha. Someday hopefully......
as far as handling goes its probably better then most of those and on par with the duc but as far as power your right its still beat but now its not by that much 140 at the rear wheel isn't a joke
I test rode this new bike at the track and I had no problem passing a Yamaha R6 in the straight. If your thought the XB was the king of the corners, the 1125r leans without effort. "You really own the corners"this bike is torquee is like a bull on fire. watchout Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki and Susuki
I definately think this a huge step in the right direction for buell. I was wondering what I would get after my XB12R, hopefully this bike is still going strong 4 years down the road from now. My only concern is since this isn't a harley engine, who the hell would work on it?
Wether it is wide or not - it definatly looks abit to wide & like a bull. Dont worry tho as the new 2008 kawasaki zx10r front end Looks awful to. Go and buy a daytona 675 or the upcoming daytona 1050 Superbike
OMG, THANKS FOR POSTING THIS!! I'm either getting this bike or an 08 Hayabusa.. The Busa is a crude, old technology monster in comparison... it's going to be a hard choice... but I'm heavily in favor of the Buell. A) will it be reliable... B) will it take hard bags? Those will be the deciding factors.
Hey, that's narrowed down to two very different motorcycles... For reliability no one knows yet as it is a brand new product from top to toe, but the Rotax track record is really good with Aprilia and others so I can't see why it shouldn't be reliable. The bikes took a thorough beating with us journalists and I didn't see many people breaking down.
The Hayabusa and ZX14 are not track bikes though. In a straight line, they're untouchable. But try hustling one of them through a chicane against a Ducati 1198 or Aprilia RSV 1000R and then see whats going on
Rossdan26: I am a journalist yes and not a racer. Laptimes were completely irrelevant on this one for me. If someone are interested you can work it out by watching the vid.
What lap time did Jeremy post round Laguna on the 1125r ?

its ok guys.the engine is built by BRP rotax with the same engine that powers the aprillia rsv so this things about as american as a honda lol
ryanturnerboles 2 years ago
Not the same engine. Aprilia RSV motor has a 60 degree v to the Buell's 72 degree v. Not to mention the 125cc difference.
And are you suggesting the Aprilia is as Italian as a Honda?

It is, just a bit smaller. Some other pipes and you can make it sound the same.

It isn't a harley, it's built by Rotax. And no, you can't make it sound the same as a harley, the engine design is completely different.

Glad you highlighted that. Many still think this bike's engine is a Harley unit.

that bikes front end is too wide

The bike is not any wider than any other rocket out there. You just assume it is wider because there isn't fairing under the radiators.
