It's about Daisuke Niwa a boy who when he turns 14 also turns into the legendary Kaitou Dark. It's something of a curse I guess. This happens to all the males in his family. When he has thoughts about the one he loves he turns into Dark. When Dark thinks about the one he loves he turns back into Daisuke. They are the same yet not the same.

So, Daisuke likes Riku and Dark likes Risa? So who ends up living in the end? I don't know the whole story, but it's gotta be horrible to be in love with an alter ego for the same person....and only one can be with him right?

Both Daisuke and Dark like Risa in the beginning, but Risa only likes Dark so Dai gets his heart crushed. Then he finds out Riku has a thing for him and figures out he has a thing for her. It's a cute little love story.

In the end, only Risa gets dumped. XP Dark actually loved Risa&Riku's grandma who looks a LOT like Risa.

Is he a devil or just a demon? Heeeey, in Full Moon wo Sagashite Mitsuki fell in love with her Shinigami. And in Chrono Crusade, Chrono and Rosette are in love, Chrono's a demon. guess it just depends on who makes the anime then. Well, it makes a good love story anyway, given that the end is sad in a way but Daisuki and Rika stay together

Dark is.. well he's a living artwork and also a curse. He's not a demon persay, but he could be percieved as one because of his wings.

Yeah, Daisuke has to have those feelings of love returned in order for the curse (Dark) to be removed until the next birth cycle, and that's exactly what happened. What that means is that their son will be Dark when he turns 14 and falls in love.

Well the anime doesn't reveal much about Rika other than she was Dark's true love and the fact that she had died by the time Dark was reborn. I don't know if she knew that Dark wasn't human but he DID leave her and she married someone else.

Daisuke's son would have to fall for some other girl, because it hints STRONGLY in the anime that he marries Riku because of an episode where Daisuke goes into the future.

It ended for good after 26 episodes x_x; Very short. ;_;

How did Dark leave Rika? Is this Rika or her grandmother? I don't know if Rika's grandma's name is rika or not....but if it's actually Rika you're talking about, then she marries someone else after he leaves and dies before he's reborn? Or her grandma...whichever it is.

RiSa = Twin

RikU = Twin

I hate how their names are similiar >_> RikU marries Daisuke, RiSa doesn't have anyone at the end, Rika died before Dark was reborn in Daisuke. Dark knew he could never be with Rika, because Dark isn't human. He lives in the bodies of the Niwa male (which at the time was Daisuke's Grandpa) and is not able to appear freely.

The manga is TOTALLY different though, completely different story line.

Well in the manga, Dark has a crush on Riku instead of Risa and Rika is never even mentioned. Plus there are other things about it that are different, like the names of the artworks Dark has to steal, the types, etc.

The anime and the manga do have some similarities in some episodes, but in the manga Satoshi and Daisuke are actually kinda friends and Satoshi has a lot more emotion. Daisuke admits his feelings for Riku a lot earlier, that kinda thing.

Daisuke and Dark are one person like Satoshi and Krad are one person. Dai inherits Dark's D.N.A. on his 14th birthday and it's activated by thoughts of unrequited love.

In the end, Dai looses Dark, Satoshi looses Krad, Risa looses Dark (well like halfway through), and Dai and Riku are an offical couple. It's a sad ending because Dark is sealed but no one could really be with him anyway because he's not even human.
