Are you still running with with unlock feature? how's it going. Thinking of doing it but want to know if anyone has been running it ok for a while. Also if an updated driver comes out would that mess things up?
@dapro696 It makes your grapics card about 20% faster, and the temperatures will raise 20% higher. In fact you change your 6950 to a 6970 without any costs.
ehm...here's the deal. People start getting artifacts after using the flashmod for a week. black and white blobs in the middle of the screen appear and the issue gets worse even after returning tot the backup bios.The issue is most likely in the ram which is using different voltgage on the hd 6970 and gets permamently damaged... a modded 6950 bios that only unlocks extra stream processors without changing ram voltage/speed works fine

It appears to be a driver issue though. i heard of red and green dots issue too. Some1 claimed it was a flash issue but it appears to be a common GTA4 specific issue.
Better be safe than sorry but it was false alarm.

@xXVisionaryXo if you use atiwinflash instead of atiflash, you can also use the commandprompt in xp/vista/w7... I unlocked the 6950 myself using that method.

@discy12345 You can create a Win98 USB boot disk to boot into DOS to flash your graphics cards (AMD or Nvidia). I've been doing that for a year now, on both my systems. Simple and convenient command prompt!

my processor is a quad core q8300, and i have 4gb of ram, i usually play in 1680x1050.
would that combination work well or is my processor to old?

@discy12345 He uses windows 98 because its the last operating system to use ms-dos everything after that is nt. you need dos to flash.

@TreyArc but why did you do that, if you can use atiwinflash instead? which has a gui. just click: open bios. and -> program. and you are done. :)
