This song is Preliator by the band Globus. Might I add that to anyone that has studied latin even a little bit the lyrics sound very very very unspider-manish :D
@speedercubies the original can be seen of more of an instrumental by immediate music wo is a trailer music company there is no female voice like the uploadre says but it sounds just as cool
Latin, i dont understand much, but i do know that Padre illuminata means something like father light and rex regis universe is like the king who rules universe.
I don't fully understand it, there are a few key words that I don't get, so, I don't understand the meaning of the lyrics either, as in latin, it happens that a word can mean 100 different things, depending on the previous or the following word...
But it is something about protecting a holy cause, that is what I understood, so, it doesn't fit to this video, lyrics wise :P
Awesome video and song, but one minor correction: I believe it's "patris illuminata"; "padre" is Spanish. Could be wrong though, my Latin is now several years old.
As far as sounding patterns concerned, I do not hear any kind of electric guitar, neither spanish nor electric, to me is just "Apocalipitace Opera Moderna" rather tahn Opera Rock.
Clearly he wasn't very powerful, or else he wouldn't have been martyred. The papacy became a poweful institution only in the mid 5th-century A.D. The question is pointless anyway, they just strong together some phrases with vague religious undertones. Though it does sound cool.
5th century yes. But try 14th century or 15th see how much power the pope had then. It probably means, if anything, that St. Peter the father or "king" of all the following popes. And it does sound pretty cool.
The movie should have just stuck to Goblin 2 and/or Venom. Having 3 villains at once was just pushing it (and as cool as Sandman was, he just really seemed out of place in this movie).
@kevlonk i agree, hop goblin and venom were really awesome villains in the comic, with such a stretch they couldn't give enough attention to either of one which made it really a shitty movie :(, especially the eddie brock actor was really not fitting the original comic book eddie and venom didnt have a personaility of his own where as he should have, they also made him look smaller and weak not the power houe he is in the comics
@kevlonk Yeah and plus they ruined Uncle Ben's death by making it seem like an accident from the Sandman. That was a powerful thing in Spider-Man 1 (After all, its why he became Spider-Man) That took away the impact of that moment.
i'm studying latin and though i couldn't translate all of the lyric on the video, i got some of it. it's kinda like a hymn, sounds a bit religious because i saw phrases like "Father of light, death, mystery, to fight in virtue, eternal protector, king, king of the universe, glory in resurrection, glory in one God"
All Romanish(?)-languague-speaking-people should understand a bit of that. Why I can't understand Latin? *cries* Heh, at least I have a wonderful memory for foreign words, and I remember the meanings of many of words from the song. And I agree with you; Enough of your ignorance (you know who am I adressing this to ;P). Start learning our languages as well!!!
Its all a matter of linguistic roots. Spanish, French and Italian are all Latin-based languages, and thus they're all very similar to each other and to Latin itself. English, however, is Germanic-based, so quite a lot of Latin words simply dont sound familiar to us.
Hehe, and what would you say in my case? My native language belongs to slavic ones (in fact it's Polish). But we use lots of latin phrases and names at schools for example, so it's easy to match these things together ;P And I've learned German and some Spanish, too, so it helps me even more (though, I forgot much of those two).
Very good music. Oh and I don't know why people keep saying that MJ dosn't look attractive in the movies. Like why? Ok, maybe in some scenes she kind of doesn't look good, but come on. She looks the best in the first movie though.
its latin i know but it might be ancient french im still not quite sure, thats y when i get in high school im taking latin so i cn wat hell they'r saying!
I have to say, I did have Latin in school. Sorry to say, but honestly I don't recognise most of the words in these lyrics as true Latin as I learned it, even though you can get the general meaning easily enough.
Alright, no more nitpicking in the face of AWESOME, for this certainly is. I fived and faved this one not without reason! :)
I did have Latin in school too, and I agree with you. On the other hand, Latin I've learned was from Caesar and Sallust (Salustio), writers from first century before Christ, I mean maybe this Latin is younger, around XI or XII century, Crusades' time.
Besides, I think that could be Old French or another romance language, (except Spanish). Medieval French had declensions (declinaciones). I know that isn't a very solid argument, but... =)
its true you don't have to learn latin to understand this song and other latin songs. But if you are interested in european history, it is very useful to understand this lanuguage.
Its not too hard to understand if you pay attention to what their saying. Latin's the root language of nearly every language in the world, and you can probably figure out what their saying if you think about it. For example, the line "Gloria in Ressurectum".
Its pretty easy to tell that that means "Glory in Ressurection", or more precisly, "Glory in his Ressurection". Does that help?
and if you speak spanish it would be better because everything has the same meaning as in spanish for example, "protego sanctus causa" is in spanish "protejo la causa santa" or in english: "protect the holy cause" another example: rex regis univers is in spanish rey, rige el universo or in english: king, govern/rules the universe.
You need to learn Latin :b From what I can discern (which isn't much), it's about epic, cosmic fate stuff. God, fate, war, lord of the universe. That sort of thing.
some of the words should be fairly simple to understand. I dont speak latin, but i know Gloria in Resurrectum means something along the lines of Glory in the Resurrection (of Christ), and Gloria in Unum Diem is Glory in Unified God or Glory in One God. Spider Man 3 certainly did SUCK. From a storyline stand point it ruined the chain of events. Mary Jane and Peter were suppose to get married , it was suppose to be a love story.
Instead it was like the director was living out some sort of shitty ass real life event in his life. Hey dumb ass its a fairy tale not some sort of jerry springer episode ! What the fuck ever happen to " Happily Ever After " !?!
mm Spiderman 3 certainly was the worst out of the three movies, but it didn't suck, and it wasn't bad for any of the reasons you exposed. The characters were poorly developed and everything turned too... comic bookish and campy, especially with the spider-emo and the ridiculous dancing scenes. What really saved Spiderman 3 for me was the whole Harry arc. It had been developing since movie one it I thought it was the coolest part of the third movie and please don't compare this to a fairy tale ¬¬
I agree completely. Harry was one of the reasons Spidey 3 was ok. If maybe they ended it with his death but kept Venom alive for another sequal or two I would have enjoyed it better. They just didnt make Venom seem as evil and bloodthirsty and ultimately as threatening as he wa sin the comics.
Let's hope they go through with his spinoff movie and make him a lot better than he was in Spidey 3.
It was, as talkstoangels said, a sort of psychological/emotional thing. As things werent going so well for Peter in his normal and superhuman life, he didnt believe in himself. and his abilites were directly effected, so he lost them Then he realized that, as bad as his life was, people look up to him when he is Spiderman. So that drives him to start believing in himself again, and thus, he regains his abilities.
well i like it but not so much i did this video because is the song from the trailer of spiderman 2 and the song is lacrimosa, this is an "extended and comercial version" you see...
actually it had more to do with the anger he had against Harry deep inside him, when Harry remained convinced that Peter/Spiderman killed his dad. And try as he may, Peter tried to convince Harry otherwise. it didnt work, black suit helped bring out a more self assertive and pissed off Peter Parker/Spiderman, Harry takes a grenade to the face.
nice vid. not bad music. ive been hearing rumors in some newspapers here in france that a 4th spiderman is coming out. and that daniel craig sighned a contract for 4 more james bond movies. ooh yea, another james bond, and possibly another spiderman in 2008. cant wait! yea!

"Gloria in Unum Diem" means "Glory in One Day".
"Diem" - Day; God - "Dei"...
"Gloria in Resurectum" means "Glory in Resurrection" period, Christ reference is purely subjective.

Ok... if Pete lost his powers cuz of stress... then how'd he get them back?? The second movie is SO confusing!!

it wasn't stress, it was supposed to be a pyschological thing... kinda like if you think you can't do something then you won't

So that drives him to start believing in himself again, and thus, he regains his abilities.

in Spider-Man 2... how did Peter loose his powers??? I'm lost on that...
DisneysKingdom1 4 years ago
parece ser que fue por que le iba mal en todo, in english... maybe because he has bad luck in the love, relationships and etc....
CESARM1989 4 years ago
huh... I thought it was cause of the whole power surge thing, when he "pulled the plug"...

You not a spidey fan? eh... don't care but hen why make the vid? not that it's bad... but...
FantasyKingdom0 4 years ago
well i like it but not so much i did this video because is the song from the trailer of spiderman 2 and the song is lacrimosa, this is an "extended and comercial version" you see...
CESARM1989 4 years ago
actually it had more to do with the anger he had against Harry deep inside him, when Harry remained convinced that Peter/Spiderman killed his dad. And try as he may, Peter tried to convince Harry otherwise. it didnt work, black suit helped bring out a more self assertive and pissed off Peter Parker/Spiderman, Harry takes a grenade to the face.

It's because he was stressed out.

Both are true. As far as I know, a writer for the script of Spidey 4 is being looked for right now.
