no they dont needa rebuild after 130.000km's have you got thge facts to justify that every rotor needs a rebuild after that many km's? v8s arent good on gas either an i could blow a v8 up in less then 130.000kms just like i could to a rotor any engine is gonna blow up we'll just see whos is gonna be cheaper to rebuild aye. your just another one of those people who cant appreciate a well designed motor for what it is. cause ya see i love rotors but i still appreciate a v8
@nitrousninja1 dont know what planet your from but most rotors are still pulsing up a storm. theres more rotors driving on the streets then there are laying in a paddock
@nitrousninja1 im from a small town of about 4000-5000 people and it has alot of rotors an im not talking about ya average rx7 or something im talking about r100's rx2's rx3's etc and no they arent in a paddock dead either they are far from that
@driftkid549 rotors arent very good, they need a rebuild after 130,000klm's. My valiant will do 5 times that before it needs a rebuild. plus rotors are not good on fuel. And they dont sound anywhere near as good as a cammed V8. The only good thing about a rotor is they are light. But still heavy enough for a boat anchor
@nitrousninja1 N/A rotary engines are terrifically reliable. It's the turbocharged ones that need high maintenance.
As for fuel, V8's do worse on that, weigh MUCH more, have much more moving parts compared to a rotary ( only 3 moving parts), and rev much faster and higher.
There are 2.0 liter N/A engines used on the track and drag strip and are extremely fast. You just can't beat power/weight ratio.
@EZ30Loyale Kinda hard to compare these. Rotary or not, those cars are much lighter than GT's People need to get a clue on comparing cars to each other.
there easy to work on if there built right they will last ages , i had a series 1 rx7 13b brige port i killed it every day 4 months and it still going hard now with its new owner get a rotor there a weapon
There's nothing wrong with rotaries, its just a case of jealousy if you ask me. My 2 of friend have rotaries as there daily drives. one of the cars is a Capella Bridge Port 13B with steel apex seals, which ran for 10years with out any problems.
My opinion is that the thing about rotors is that they are a rather rare type of engine, to my knowledge they are only mass produced by one motor group (Mazda) and therefore the availability of parts for them and the number of rotary engine technicians around is somewhat scarce. Also, because rotary engine technicians are few and far between, they can charge the earth to work on your motor. As for performance, I personally believe rotary engines are excellent. They can put out huge amounts of
@cryptopsyskully agreed i think they run the best with a naturally asperated rotary its when you go to the extreme with mods is when you start destroying them

Power with tiny lightweight engines, which makes them great engines for all types of motorsport.
Rotary engines tend to lose their reliability when used with turbochargers.
My humble advice, if you can't afford to maintain a rotary, don't buy one. If you can, go hard!
