@khav11 I've always rated Shelley higher than thornton. But Shelly can't handle Chara.
Engelland handled Orr in both their first fight, AND the rematch-so a rematch wouldn't help your boy. Deryk couldn't handle Scott because he's giving up 6 inches AND 56lbs.
Shelley couldn't handle Kassian even in a rematch. He's gone 56 straight fights without a loss, beating Shelley, Goddard, Hordichuk, Konopka, Ivanans and Lessard along the way. If he was a better player, he'd be in the NHL full time.

@pat442389 McQuaid is tough as nails, but Shelley is a top 5 fighter, as voted by other NHL enforcers in the April 2010 Sports Illustrated. Adam isn't quite ready for a top 5 guy yet. He's an extremely tough light heavy, but until he beats a guy like MacIntyre, Scott, Gillies, Carkner, Parros, Orr or McGrattan, he's not in Shelley's league. Thornton is 0-3 with 1 draw against Shelley. Lucic has now beaten Carkner, so he might be ready, and Chara can handle anyone. Jody has 38lbs on Quaider.

At 197, Quaider is a top 5 light heavyweight- which is fine, since he's a very solid 3rd pairing D-man, and he's not an enforcer. He could play in the NHL without his fighting ability. Guys like Scott, Kassian, MacIntyre, and McGrattan couldn't.

Had Berube been fighting a guy 5 years older, then you'd have a point-like when Jay Miller kicked his ass. LOL Byers beat Carkner & had a draw with him & a draw with Chychrun. He also beat Greg Smyth, Dan Kordic, Tony Horacek twice, making him 6-0 with 3 draws against Philly fighters.
Miller beat Berube, Carkner, McGill and Tocchet. Brown was the only Flyer to best him while Jay was a Bruin

Watch the overhead view at 1:06, Shelley catches his right foot on the net and falls into McQuaid. Otherwise it would have been a play that happens a dozen times every game. It is unfortunate, but not cheap or dirty, and until the get rid of touch icing the possibility of it happening again will remain.

Looked to me like the Bruins player crossed in front of Shelly, If anything I would have to say that McQuaid is lucky that HE didn't get a penalty for interference. Could have been a DIVE possible too, looked to me like he embellished it quite a bit, but that's pretty typical for a Boston player.

Anyone who has never played the game of hockey doesnt realize what the impact of losing an edge has on your balance. Even in the slightest way. Ever see someone standing there and randomly fall on their ass? Equilibrium. Now Im a Penguins fan and I dislike the Flyers 100%, but Im sticking up for Shelley on this. You can clearly see his skates lose it. Body's natural reaction to falling is reaching out to brace yourself on something. Adam McQuaid just happened to be the brace unfortunately :-/
