this might sound weird but if you blow inside the xbox tray sometimes a dust ball might come out, that was my problem. please like so people can see this.
@krazydude93 hey mines doing same as yours. turns on randomly, open and closes in random intervals. my magnet is in correct place though. did you ever find your solution to fix yours?
@heavydoodyworks I actually just used a shoe lace and a battery in strategic places to keep the eject button compressed. I had to keep the face plate off for it to work. Until recently i took everything off and it's running as usual.
my xbox closes without a disk but it jams and wont open. i do the paperclip trick to open it and then put in a disk. now with the disk in it, i hit the button to close it and it looks like this problem. any ideas?
Thank you so much. I just got done with this fix. Took me about 35-45 minutes. The trickiest part is opening the console as to not break anything. There are many great videos here on how to do that. Saved myself 150 bucks.
@quiksilver02ss yeah its a really easy fix, i got the red ring on this xbox but no luck on fixing it so i got an arcade like 2 months before the new ones came out xD lol but yeah its really simple and so are most of the xbox problems, i just fixed my girlfriends brothers xbox in like 10 mins his disks wouldnt read and the tray wouldnt open. thank you all for giving such good responces on the video =D
You know I had an xbox that did this. I bought a new one then it got the Red Ring of Death. I used this video to get the old one working while the new one was getting fixed. then I traded them both in on an Elite with the Jasper Chip. Thanks for the turorial.
DUDE this worked for me! stupid metal part. All I did was super glue it and it stuck. That metal piece is suppose to hold that piece down on the top half of the dvd try to keep the dvd/game in place. Hope this helped everyone else
DUDE! This shit was so simple i felt like a retard... although I really could have never figured it out on my own. I bought this XBOX from some folks who couldnt fix it for 80 bucks. along with some games and stuff... Now i can resell. Thanks a lot man :D
