You cannot compare this type of wrestling to the shitty WWE wrestling of today. This is it yo. This is it. The 80s were that deal. What the 90s represented to Hip-Hop and R&B the 80s represented to professional wrestling, as this show clearly demonstrates.
My God, that finish was hot. The finish of this match drew one of biggest pops of the whole show from the crowd. They definitely appreciated what they were witnessing out there and what kind of caliber of talent was in that ring, regardless of who won and who lost and who the babyfaces or the heels were. They knew these teams were going to get it crackin'.
This six man tag match saved Santana's ass too. Looking back in retrospect as popular as Santana was, had it not been for this match I don't have a clue as to who Santana would have worked with at Wrestlemania III. I believe at this time Santana was feuding with the Natural Butch Reed on the house show circuit, and they had chemistry in the ring together but Reed was booked to work with Koko. Tito got kind of lucky that the Dynamite Kid was injured looking back in retrospect.
The Hart Foundation and the British Bulldogs were just pure awesomeness. Imagine if Dynamite had not been as badly injured as he was and this would have gone from a six man tag match to tag-team between the Harts and the Bulldogs for the gold at Wrestlemania III. Couple that with Savage and Ricky for the Intercontinental Championship and in the words of NBA color commentator Mark Jackson, "Oh my goodness". Hogan and Andre would have been in some trouble. Fortunately for them Dye was injured.
These two teams got it poppin' everytime they worked together. The tag-teams in the WWE today don't have shit on the Bulldogs and the Harts. Everytime these two teams worked together, you knew you were in store for a great match.
The World Wrestling Federation Tag-Team Championship division was the most hotly contested division in the 80s. The Intercontinental Championship and WWF Championship divisions were not as hotly contested or as booked well as the Tag Championship matches were. Night in and night out these guys were stealing the show. Hogan might have drawn the house, but he certainly wasn't having the best matches on the card every night, and the Bulldogs and the Harts were big draws back then as well.
The Hart Foundation had worked their way up from lower midcard status to upper midcard status/main event status and were finally making money. In 1986 the WWF started booking them better. Previously they didn't give a fuck. At the MSG and Boston shows, they started booking the Harts and Bulldogs in the semi main event positions. In other words they started going on last to close the shows, which is not a bad position. Semi main event. Ur still makin' money a lot of money.
The sad thing is that Attitude era/Monday Night Wars (much as I enjoyed it) is how we got from THIS video to the shit on today. Remember? At the beginning of every Raw, Stone Cold or Rock came out and talked shit, that's what they're stiiiill trying to do, also to prevent injuries and therefore steroid use
The reaction of the crowd @ the 7:00 min mark is classic, such hatred for Danny Davis & he got a BEATING from Tito & Davey Boy, classic BS at the end though, lol.
WOW listen to that crowd cheer for the British Bulldogs and Tito Santana. WOW listen to that audience cheer when Danny Davis took a pounding. Funny how Jesse Ventura makes up nick names for wrestlers he doesn't like such as Tito Santana being being Chico or The Flying Burrito. The tag teams were great during the 1980s.
gorilla monsoon would have been embarassed to commentate with two ametures like them, but fair enough they "dont know how to do it" but it sounds pathetic apart from gorilla
its a real shame what happened to dynamite kid after he got injured and then ended up in a wheelchair with an amputated leg! Put him and davey boy in hall of fame, because they truely do deserve it! R.I.P davey boy smith!!
This was a good match with the commentating. I usually dislike guest commentators but you can tell that Bob Uecker is a wrestling fan when he talks. The worst had to be Art Donovan at the King of the Ring 1994.
this is classic! danny davis was great!! im still pissed at the bulldogs losing to davis/hf! this match should have had the titles on the line somehow!

I'm not sure of the storyline at this point in the WWF. But it would have been a better 6 man tag-match if Rick Martel teamed with the Hart Foundation as he and Tito Santana were rivals and former tag partners at this point in time.
Fail they werent really rivals by this point they had couple matches on superstars. they certainly werent former tag team partners by this point either as they didnt even form strike force yet that was soon.however martel and zenk would soon break up afterthis wmania when zenk left cause the model negotiated his contract to be 3x as much as zenk lol. strike force would break up at wmania 5 i believe when tito hit model with flying forearm. btw best tagteam era in history wwf 86-90
@zzDzCzCzz -Martell and Santanna had not even started tagging at this time. They started tagging that summer after Tom Zenk left the WWF in a contract disoute. Supossedly even though he and Martell were a team Martell was getting a bigger salary then he was and generally tag team members got the same salaries.
@paulsonj72 Yeah I brushed up on my 80s tag knowledge to see the heel turn didn't happen until 89. Shame Martel got injured to prevent Tito and him having a proper culmination to their feud at Summerslam. And yeah didn't they claim Zenk just left his partner or something like that
SO THATS WHERE TAKER LEARNED THE TOMBSTONE! LOL, man these guys had one of the top matches in the card, 2nd best to Savage vs Steamboat in probably the greatest match ever.
for the dude who said the hart foundation doesnt have anything on the x division you are smoking crack this is real wrestling , those guys arent shit in tna , hart foundation one of the greatest tag teams ever. Tag team wrestling is dead compared to these days.
@tysman621 : I agree. Back then we had WRESTLERS. Today it's just ENTERTAINERS. There isn't a tag team out there in North America today that can hang with the work rate of the Hart Foundation, British Bulldogs, Midnight Express, Midnight Rockers, or any of the classic tag teams from the 80s. Even thrown together tag teams like Power and Glory, Strike Force, or the Dream Team are better that what's offered in today's market.
Bret Hart = The worst there is, The worst there was, The worst there ever will be. He is a horrible wrestler. Compared to todays X division. The Hart Foundation are so overrated and so is Bret. Bret always got his way. Sooked for it. One of the biggest politicians. @Synoptik3000 Whether you don't like what he says or not, you're talking about a man who's workrate was and to this day still stands as one of the best in the wrestling biz, guys today aim to be as successful as legends like Bret and he faced EVERYONE and even when lost he gave his all in any match he's been in. Maybe you don't like his slogan whatever but that's got to count for something. Bret Hart will always be one of the great pro wrestlers ever.
@Synoptik3000 Yes... because the "Montreal screwjob" was Bret getting his way... you know nothing of wrestling and are clearly a new era TNA/Cena dick rider. Piss off!
wow this just show you how much wwe has changed there was good tag team wrestling at wrestlemania back then but now there isnt and dont say wrestliemania 26 because because that match was 5 min long
The great 80ies=). When holding a title meant something and a pay per view came 4 times a year and not every 3 weeks. Today they change titles more often than underwear and having a belt is not an accomplishment. It´s like "Oh so it´s your turn this week how nice for you. Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame=)"
this was 1987 and back then pay per view was not available in most homes if I recall correctly so they had Wrestlemania shown on closed circuit locations like a high school. The high school auditorium was full for this one and besides Hogan winning and Steamboat winning, the 3rd biggest pop was when Danny Davis had his ass handed to him from 6:43 until 8:58. Good times!!
these 2 tag teams had some of the greatest matches ever appart from the Anvil these 3 were some of the greatest wrestlers of all time! put guys like Hogan n Warrior to shame!
I loved Wrestlemania III, I think it's my favorite one of all time...lots of wrestlers in the prime of their career...the WWF was great in the late '80s, it's when I first started watching...and it was great having guests from outside the wrestling world like Mary Hart and Bob Eucker...I had this on VHS I used to watch it all the time.
@fondness1012: the woman was entertainment tonight's mary hart...and for years mike mcguirk was a ring announcer many of tuesday nights on prime time wrestling, stephanie wiand was a backstage interviewer during late 1994 and early 1995, and her interviews with jerry lawler at king of the ring 1995 were priceless...
@eisenkreuzmusik LOL Jimmy Hart could never get a clean win LOL . . . Honky Tonk with the guitar. Nasty Boys with a helmet or megaphone. Hart Foundation with a megaphone. Well perhaps Earthquake did get a clean win now and then when he was managed by Jimmy Hart.
You guys have to remember that back in 1987, the majority of wrestling fans were marks (unless they received The Observer, listened to local renegade wrestling talk shows, or posted messages on local BBS' like I did).
2 nuggets on this match from Bret Hart's book: Bret's eye got severly poked in the beginning of the match when the bull dogs lifted danny davis and thew him out of the ring ontop of bret hart. Bret could hardly see out of one eye the whole match. #2 Dynamite kid barely worked this match due to a severe back injury. THey didnt even know if he'd work the match at all but he gutted it out.
@CRHWESPN23 David Hart Smith's mother is Diana Hart, Bret's younger sister. Natalya Neidhart's mother is Ellie Hart another of Bret's sister and her dad is Jim Neidhart.
Tyson Kidd has no blood or marital relation to the Hart family. He's simply Natalya's real life boyfriend and also trained at the famous Hart family "Dungeon".
While i feel wrestling peaked in the 80's...i am sure a guy who saw the 60's feel the same...my dream tag team match would be the hardy boyz and the bulldogs in their prime.
Wrestling ended in 1990 as far as I'm concerned. Todays wannabes eg Cena, Edge and all these other long haired losers aren't even in the same league as these 80's legends.
this match was better than hogan vs andre and so was macho man vs steamboat wm 3 was unforgettable dynamite kid was the greatest pound for pound wrestler ever even bret said so and bret is my fav
dude bret hart, is and was the best WRESTLER ever no body wrestles like him anymore, chris jericho and edge look like john cena in wrestling lol and no stone cold lost to bret hart every match he wrestled him in.
I was only a baby during this time, but this match was amazing! We don't see stuff like this anymore... these legends, Bret, Neidhart, Davey Boy, Dynamite, Tito will never be replaced.
I am at awe with how similar Dynamite and Christ Benoit are.. with the headbutts. Wow.
I completely LOVED this shit. Takes me back to 5th grade. You can tell now though that wrestler's do a whole lot more steroids today than back then. Or maybe steroids have gotten better now.
He was the Blue Blazer when he first came in around Wrestlemania 5, then returned around 91 as The Rocket, before doing the Bret Hart/Hart Foundation period in the mid 90's and then had returned to the Blue Blazer in 1999.
Why doesn't wrestlemania have hollywood people as announcers anymore? Like Regis or mary hart or whos the other guy again? anyways it was awesome back then.
I'm in the middle of reading Bret's new book, "My Real Life in the Cartoon World Of Wrestling" and I heard about this match. Decided to check it out. Not a bad match, considering that Tom "Dynamite" had some REALLY bad back problems around this time.
WWE is bullshit. WWF is amazing.

THey didnt even know if he'd work the match at all but he gutted it out.

so how did david hart smith get in the hart dynasty?reply me back if have answer
CRHWESPN23 2 years ago
davey boy smith is the brother in law of Bret Hart as well tha Anvil
crosstigerdragon 2 years ago
@CRHWESPN23 David Hart Smith's mother is Diana Hart, Bret's younger sister. Natalya Neidhart's mother is Ellie Hart another of Bret's sister and her dad is Jim Neidhart.
Tyson Kidd has no blood or marital relation to the Hart family. He's simply Natalya's real life boyfriend and also trained at the famous Hart family "Dungeon".

because that's what vince decided to do.

Heh the Harts did the Demolition decapitation.

I bet the British Bulldog made Danny Davis's neck a good three inches shorter with that piledriver.

Did Davey Boy just do a Tombstone? 8:14
galdamez3 2 years ago
Yes, but it wasn't a "Tombstone" in 1987, it was just a piledriver.

The guys now don't compare to the guys from before! These were the greats. I can still watch them now and love it. Now it's to much drama and acting!
fknright 2 years ago
While i feel wrestling peaked in the 80's...i am sure a guy who saw the 60's feel the same...my dream tag team match would be the hardy boyz and the bulldogs in their prime.
wrestlingmark1 2 years ago
I agree big max.. I feel the same way.. But dont tell my son that.. He loves John Cena

Sounds like your son is stupit then.
WhiteChocolut 2 years ago
Wrestling ended in 1990 as far as I'm concerned. Todays wannabes eg Cena, Edge and all these other long haired losers aren't even in the same league as these 80's legends.

Could somebody tell me how Owen was introduced in the WWF, today WWE?
FreddieMoon7 2 years ago
owen debuted as blue blazer because he didnt want to be billed as brets brother and wanted to make a name for himself
then he didnt have much sucess so he left then he returned sometime later as owen hart and teamed with jim neidhart for a bit
saintcheesewarrior 2 years ago
Blue Blazer was after he appeared as "The Rokcet" though wasnt it?
jacksy1980 2 years ago
no i thinkthat was when he returned in the early 90s that he started calling himself that
saintcheesewarrior 2 years ago
He was the Blue Blazer when he first came in around Wrestlemania 5, then returned around 91 as The Rocket, before doing the Bret Hart/Hart Foundation period in the mid 90's and then had returned to the Blue Blazer in 1999.
SkankBangertonsays 2 years ago
Yeah I remember his match against Skinner, I think at a Wrestle Mania? But thanks for that.
jacksy1980 2 years ago
HE WAS THE BLAZER FIRST

Owen debuted in 1988 as The Blue Blazer. In 1989 he left the company but in 1991 he returned to the WWF using his real name.

I'm in the middle of reading Bret's new book, "My Real Life in the Cartoon World Of Wrestling" and I heard about this match. Decided to check it out. Not a bad match, considering that Tom "Dynamite" had some REALLY bad back problems around this time.

Iknow Davy Boy Smith passed away, but what ever happened to The Dynamite Kid? Does anyone know, he was fantastic.
