  • Heaven is to blame.

  • How the hell could anyone say Adore sucks? Yeah yeah I for got it doesn't sound exactly like Siamese Dream it's evil.

  • @nicholsjoshua15, Now that... was funny.

  • Adore has to be the most emotional album The Smashing Pumpkins had made up to that point and have made up to this point.

  • The backing drums on this track really bring out the feel of the lyrics. The constant use of china and splash cymbals really drive the point home.

  • IT IS O.K.

  • The best SP album!!

  • @backlash44566, I voted it up because it shows that Billy Corgan can sing. Do us all a favor and make friends with death...

  • @ZeroTearAvaAdore ya to bad he cant keep a tune live or in studio to save his life. He was singing one part of a song when the drums / guitar where on different parts a big disappointment. he sounded out of key maybe he should stick to auto tune.

  • Music is the only thing that I believe in this world. This song is like a hymn to the dark side of life. And this song also makes Adore my favourite SP album.

  • the lyrics provoke thought, meaning, hate, love, lust. It is smashing pumpkins

  • Sonically lush, without extreme unnecessary production.

  • The worst crime of entertainment? That you will never hear a beautifully-composed and performed six-minute rock song on FM radio ever again.

  • @isawitdotcom agree 100%

  • beautiful music from a beautiful album

  • Why do I constantly picture this song played by Pink Floyd in 1972 in Pompeii? It really shows that there was at least one true alternative band in the 90's. A scene with Nick Cave, Yes, Genesis gone and Kravitz infesting radio waves. Wonder how many of U are old enough to remember that time.

  • how come all the pretentious weirdos have to comment pumpkin videos? just shhhhh. im serious. Why do people feel the need to be the "one true fan," get the fuk over yourself in a hurry.

  • All time favourite song,touching.

    And the music..

  • I don't know man, I really LOVE the live version of this song.. I think the album version is lacking.

  • dedicated to all the people died unfairly

  • this song.. this song forces to thing. Very powerfully, very cool.... from russia

  • It is scary to consider that there are people out there who believe that the title of the song is in a "teardrop" context

  • And for the first time

    Heaven seemed insane

    Cause heaven is to blame

    For taking you away

  • @LeidiLay How strange, I think those are the lyrics to this song....

  • @Watch4 NO... Really?? i notice your sarcasm, but i chose not to care. Those lines has a meaning to me, as to many i imagine.

I'm truly sorry if i in anyway caused you harm with this wild but reckless action.

  • Beautiful... Billy forever...

  • This song so dramatic and beautiful. Ahhh, love.

  • R.I.P PEP....

  • The best album and the perfect song

  • @ABABIS I agree.

  • This song is wonderful and emotional, It reminds me good moments

  • Such a masterpiece.

Although you got the lyrics wrong.

at a certain point you have 'you held the rain' but it says 'you kissed me cold' (after in gray afternoons)

  • @placeboloverrrrz nahh the lyrics are correct

  • I'm still crying... beautifull song !

  • I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH. It brings me back my memories.. ANd i love the way Billy sings it... so emotional and yet so beautiful =)

  • fag

  • Adore adore adore... :)

  • Does any one else find a strange connection between this song and to forgive from mellon collie?

I truly believe they are "sister" songs... If there was such a thing :P

  • yeah i thought that too, i mean the flow of the chorus is very similar, and the sadness is just the same, i would say that this is like a more mature version of to forgive.....

  • @canag0d

i wanna get to know you for real im so wasted right

  • Adore was a turning point for the band, and for me it was so beautiful and melodramatic!!!!

Every song hits you in the heart and stays with you...........There are so many layers to the songs on the album!!!!!!

My favorite is Behold! The Nightmare~!~!~!~!

  • search "death of a gael-- cruachan"

It's Cruachan. he!he!he! on black with title...

  • słyszałem kilka wersji tego utworu- teraz nogi mi się ugięły...

  • I agree, I actually think their gothic phase was the best but most of the songs on this album were just missing something.

  • they started as a goth band, look up their late 1980s stuff.

I wouldn't call 'Adore' goth... as Billy called it.. it is: 'Arcane night music'

  • @williampatrickcorgan wats ur fav 80s song from them

  • my favo SP songs from the '80s are:

    Under your spell.

    Spiteface.

    Translucent

    My Dahlia

    :)

  • @mercurymadhatter

    adore doesn't have emotion?

  • ur gay

  • Comment removed

  • @mercurymadhatter check out the live version. I get what you're saying about the album, people just tend to be too ultra-defensive on here.

  • @ mercurymadhatter if you think 'Adore' lacks emotion then you are a fool

  • AGREE 100 %

  • billy corgan is such a lyrical genius

  • @dime1046 best ever

  • great band

  • this is magical song

  • @billytdakid : I´m just sorry of you, because you don´t understand music at all..............

Now go to your room listen to tokio hotel

  • lol..

  • agreed

  • @Romeu13 TOKIO WHAT?

  • You suck

  • What compared to your Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus? Moron

  • by the way Tokio Hotel is gay, isnt it?

  • drop dead

  • Fuck My Bloody Valentine, burned out poser band

  • Never realized how artistic and thoughtful these lyrics are....

  • your an idiot billy is unique therefore he is an influence he isnt influenced

  • Kool down you tool, I wasn't trying to offend anyone here (And I didn't expect a freaking thumbs down on my comment either) It's true they're one of his main influences. Listen to some "My Bloody Valentine" and you'll hear the influence in there.

  • everyones influenced by someone

  • Actually Billy has personally claimed to have been influenced by Bauhaus, Hendrix and others. I'm not saying that to one up you or have some immature YouTube war. I'm just stating the facts. There's nothing wrong with being influenced with the things that come before you. Babies have to crawl before they walk on their own. Before that, they are sitting in a cradle waiting for their bottle like everyone else.

  • That has got to be the most moronic comment ever concieved. I honestly hope you were being sarcastic StoneTemplePilots24

  • musical orgasm

  • There's quite a bit with the pumpkins.

They're probably the best post-grunge band.

  • great song and sad

  • This song was originally slated to be on the Lost Highway soundtrack and was bumped in lieu of Eye. (While that's still a good song, I'm not sure they made the right choice, this song seems to fit the movie better...)

  • yes it does

  • And for the first time

    Heaven seemed insane

    Cause heaven is to blame

    For taking you away...

only billy corgan can write this!

  • Tear can be a verb, as tearing up. He does clearly says tear though, in context.

  • smashing pumpkins rocks!!!!!

  • omg this is like the first time ive heard this song!!! its amazing!!!!!

ive been listening to these guys non stop for since I found there stuff and i missed out on this beaty!? damn!!!

only need adore and my SP collection is complete too:)

  • adore is great

  • Check out the live version of this song it's amazing.

  • freaken awesome...

  • actually, it's tear like in crying ;-)

  • "Tear me apart. Tear me apart from you"

You can't tear someone unless that tear is tear like tearing paper. You cannot preform a noun on something, you can only preform a verb on something, in this case the verb is tear, not the noun tear.

  • could be both

  • Could be...But, I once thought it to be "tear" as in crying. But, I 've come to realize it (years ago) to mean "tear" as in tearing paper. He says it over and over.

  • @Watch4 I think ikeikel is right,just think a little...

  • @TheMutantZone I've explained the proper way of applying English...not to mention he says it that way in the song.

  • @Watch4 Well I think it's tearing paper too, but just to point this out, billy is very complex in his lyrics, he could have a double meaning in "tear" so the title actually means both, that sounds like something he'd do

  • @Watch4 A noun can't do anything, they simply are.

  • @Grave187RIP13 What are you talking about?

  • @Grave187RIP13 watch, you be bad! i loves ya!

  • this song haunts me. i listened to it once and now i cant stop. =] <3 SP

  • dood no is not this whole album is about his dead mother, he was on xtc while writting this whole album dedicated to his dead mother

  • If God does exist, then he is to blame for everything, the good and the bad.

  • sounds like someone died, and he's upset. that's what i get out of it

  • seems like he's blaming god for the car crash

  • that's sad. alot of people blame God for bad things.

  • Yeah, and a lot of people are stupid enough to blame everything good on God and then act as though everything else is coincidence. If God truly is omnipotent then he is the cause & effect of every moment on this earth, the reason for every step or every breath taken, and responsible for every life AND death. That is, -if- he exists. Well, at least you're a Jack White fan. <333 Jack White is a genius<3 wish I could say the same for you )=

  • The song is about the death of his mom Martha.

  • Huh? I thought the song martha was about his mom. the last song on this album. This is just a metaphor about a death of his imaginary girlfriend

  • Is is me (probably is) or does the beginning have a faint melody of "To Forgive"?

Adore is one of my favorites.

  • the best song of smashing pumpkins

  • live version better

still my best smashing pumpkins song

    billy corgan ye legend

  • This is one of my favorite SP songs, I can't get it out of my head!

  • Yeah right!

  • I like ur channel name :D

  • My favourite song from S.P.

Although every song of them is meant to be a favourite...

  • Amazing son, and when i was laughing at a funny vid icon, Billy said "You laugh the light" and i'm like OMG! Anyhow, EPIC song!

  • It sounds tragic, don't you think ?

  • yes...and it is in fact...Billy wrote this song to his mother who died a few time before the album was released...

  • Don't forget the melody of "For Martha."

  • True!

  • i love this song

  • one of the best of adore

  • just another great one

  • its my favourite song now!!

  • One of the Smashing Pumpkins' most intense songs... a real must hear!
