@ginofultano No, the diameter of the cord is critical to the latch working. It's very small cord, it's not suitable for typing by hand, nor are the other eyelets large enough for regular cord. So, you need the speed latch to work, and it does not work well unless you have the exact diameter lace. No support = more garbage in the landfill.

But be aware that the laces are thin and wear out in < 1 season. Parts are hard to find if available at all.
