  • help me please ok i put my demo onto my desktop its called tut.dem i try to drag it into windows movie maker but it says i need the codec any idea how and where i can get it?

  • @SillyFirecracker You have to follow the entire tutorial to convert the .dem file into a avi file. You can drag that into movie maker.

  • When i try to use the playdemo command it doesn't work.....

  • Guys the source record doesnt work in tf2 anymore.

  • @KennyGuy4 Are you serious

  • @ChickenConPolloHD yeah, the dem converter isnt showing up at all,and gnatfreak told me it isnt working in tf2. maybe cause there is replay in tf2...

  • Dude. No offense or anything, but, it kind of sounded like you were about to cry in this video :(

  • @pangolin97 But only in the beginning

  • @pangolin97 Yeah, I know. I suffer from having too much saliva in my mouth when I try to talk. But not in public. Hmmm.

  • @MutatedGamer Ah

  • I have 3 problems. 1- I dont get a box that pops up when i type startmovie " " avi. 2-When Im finished recording i go to my team fortress 2 folder, nothings there. 3- When i play my demo over, it plays back extremly fast.

  • @iFreshly Same here!

  • @MutatedGamer even in windowed mode and when i type the command it says directly start recording after console is cleared

  • @TheSkyDash Are you sure you typed endmovie when the demo is done? Honestly other than that I can't think of anything.

  • @MutatedGamer yes i did

  • Ok so this is what I did: I recorded a demo (record katana.demo) I finished recording and typed in "stop" I typed in startmovie katana avi I typed in playdemo katana It recorded the avi But when I try to play the avi file in the tf folder it dosent work. I can't open with a video player or video editing program. For some reason the file size is 0. Please help :(?
  • @NessPKThunder Make sure you type endmovie after the demo is done.

  • When I save the avi it says it cant play the file when I play it from the tf folder HELP :(

  • @DocterPlatypus Are you making sure to type endmovie in console after the demo is done?

  • @MutatedGamer - OHHHH i didnt know u had to type in endmovie :P and also i meant it was in the team fortress 2 folder not the tf ima retard xD

  • @DocterPlatypus Also the file shouldn't be in the tf folder, it should be in the team fortress 2 folder, the folder before tf. Look for the movie in there. If it doesn't work, when you type startmovie command when the window comes up asking for the Codec use something other than Full Frames, to see if those work. :)

  • voice crack? :p

  • Nice vid :)

  • Yeah, recording this way is retarded. Fraps > source recorder

  • @7gamex I agree, but finding a good game with Fraps recording every game can eat up hard drive space, so I use source recorder then when I have a good game record the playback of the demo with fraps. :P

  • @MutatedGamer I disagree with 7game. On some people computers lag a bunch with fraps, and it costs money to get it legally. I hate using fraps at my friends, ill be playing, then i shoot a shot and it just keeps on the same frame forever. But good tutorial. :) Thanks for the help

  • @7gamex Source recorder >Fraps but that only applies for source games
