I have been introduced to GBV via youtube and I think it's a really good fit... short songs presented with short clips evoking the spirit of the tunes. Bob is a collage artist I think he would approve... some of the songs wouldn't mean as much to me without the videos. So basically what I'm trying to say is this song makes knots in my brain.
So, I'm not too familiar with Anime, the only movie I've actually seen is Akira, but this looks pretty great. It the title of it "FLCL" or is that short for something?
Great song, btw, that's the whole reason I watched in the first place....GBV!
The anime itself is a great deal of surreal nonsense. The imagery is striking but the plot isn't series (Not to say that it's bad, I thoroughly enjoyed it myself). FLCL is short for フリクリ, a Japanese onomatopoeic expression that doesn't really have meaning (At least nothing that is relevant to modern Japanese culture; I think it's self-referential).
I don't really keep up with anime like I used to, but there is a lot of good stuff out there. Movies by "Studio Ghibli" is usually a safe bet (They are like the Disney of Japan). Death Note was fantastic (A boy can kill people by writing their names in a notebook. He wants to create an ideal world without crime). Cowboy Bebop is a good, stylish action series. Ruroni Kenshin is a good samurai action series. I've also been reading Naruto for years and I'm happy with it, Although many don't like it
this song is about how pollard viewed american education, seeing as he was a teacher for 14 years. we all remembered getting gold stars (especially us "mellenials") for regurgitating stupid bullshit. my mother's an elementary school teacher, she would probably agree that american education is complete bullshit. in fact yeah she does.
awesome ringing guitar sound. classic song.

Thank you for posting this. I had no idea that GBV had, apparently, absolutely no representation on youtube. That's a fucking shame.

I love this song. I don't think it's on Human Amusements - neither is Goldheart Mountaintop Queen Directory - man those two are masterpieces.

Cool, thanks for that.
I'm all for surreal nonsense, so I'll definitely be checking it out.
I recently watched "Ghost in the Shell" at the urging of a friend and loved it. Any other Animes you recommend?

I would've gone with an Astro Boy video personally, but FLCL is probably better. Great song, great anime, great vid.
