  • wow that is very cool!!!

  • Excellent! The last shot/sequence with the moon and clouds was great. From Abq local-gracias.

  • Sequence settings :S

  • Grüße aus Leipzig, wir starten dieses Jahr auch wieder!

  • das wird sicherlich wieder ein schönes fest, wie jedes jahr!

  • Awwww my homestead!!!! Thank you so much for uploading this, I really miss you, ABQ ;)!!!!!!

  • I was just at the 2010 fiesta and I saw a lot of the same balloons and many new ones. This was a great video!

  • i like the way the turtle settles into the ground and descends away backwards. 1:43

  • Excellent!

  • Fantastic!

  • this video made a potentially boring event quite cool to watch :)

  • omg

  • I live in Albuquerque, and honestly, it sucks here. This is a cool video, but the balloon fiesta is about all we have to offer. all the other hype is just tourist traps.

I don't like it here, and as soon as I get out school, I'm moving.

  • @quenwolf

I hear ya, im moving asap too. Maybe somewhere where grass and tree's actually grow without having to be planted.

  • @quenwolf i live in albuquerque too, but i love it. we have alot of stuff. maybe your just too much of a boring person to see the good side of ABQ:) you need a hug

  • @dahobo1994

Either that, or I'm too young to go drinking. Which seems to be all anybody over 21 finds fun to do. This isn't a place for me, and if you honestly think Albuquerque has a lot to offer, you haven't gone to very many other cities.

I'm glad you like it here, but it doesn't suit me. The only non-annual thing I can compliment this city on is the slam poetry scene. That's it.

  • I did a series of time lapses this year. Unfortunately it was too windy for the dawn patrol and night glows for the 5 days I was there. :-(

  • I love the balloon fiesta! i go every year, you know this one in albuquerque is the biggest balloon fiesta in the world? It's in the guines book of world records!! lol is that how you spell giunes??

  • The bees are actually flyin!

  • that looks like super dooper lots of fun!

    awesome :)

  • annoying music, but lovely video! thanks.

  • I go to this every year.I got a balloon card from the bees. They actually have separate MySpaces!

  • I have the Lilly and Joey balloon card too!

  • The bees took off holding hands.

    That made me smile.

  • you make me smile.

  • and they stayed that way! thats sooo cute!

  • Yeah and if you watch the Albuquerque news in the morning, they make them kiss...Its so fun

  • Best time lapse ive seen in a long time. Great subject

  • LOL Turtle at 1:40

  • I live in albuquerque, and it is such an awesome town! Except for the last two years the baloon fiesta hasn't gone that well.

  • yea when Wings of Wind crashed into that power line

  • geez im moving theri nexxt fall

  • Just booked my hotel. Looking forward to my first Fiesta.

  • that was ace!

  • This video has been selected by our channel as one of the best Time Lapse/Wrap videos on YouTupe and was added to the channel's playlist accordingly. Thanks for sharing it.

    Regards,

    bestofYTchannel

  • nice job!

  • You want rude? Try the midwest! The people here are RUDE! You must be letting on you think the people of NM are slow huh? Guess there not that slow dumba--

  • I live in the midwest and in Kansas city the people are cool. Diss on your own fuckin city not the whole midwest.

  • I was there for this fiesta and lived there for 10 years. You all have NO IDEA what you are talking about. ABQ has the highest per capita PHD in the world! Just about everything you DO on your computer owes to this area and all your new technologies like space exploration, microwaves, radio telescopes, electric cars, nuclear power, etc is front and center in NM. I am a US Navy Submarine Nuclear power veteran and MCSE. I mov ed from NM and it was a big mistake. I for one LOVE NM

  • Uh, well, Albuquerque's population is still under 1 million, but I know what you mean.

  • すごーい!

    これってぶつかったりしないのかな?

  • Awesome video. Love the timelapsed fireworks!

  • I'm living in NM from now till June. The people here seem very slow and simple. I guess they do have one of the worst educational systems in the USA. People here are also very rude. They also act so proud to live here for some reason. There's very little to do in this state compared to the other ones I've lived in. What is there to be proud of? Maybe they're just trying to make themselves feel better for living in a sucky state. LOL!

  • Not all americans are slow & simple?

  • No, just people in NM and obviously TX. LOL! Maybe AZ too.

  • I've lived here for 4 years now, and I can totally agree with you. And when I tell people who have lived here their whole lives that there really isn't much to do, they say there's tons to do. Maybe I'm missing something. haha

  • I guess I've lived in Minneapolis and LA which both have more to do. I guess New Mexico has allot of outdoor stuff... but still. It's better than Arizona though. That state isn't very fun to me.

  • I know what you mean I'm from California and I am moving back I can't even make it a year out here.

  • That would explain the Los Alamos National Laboratories, the Sandia National Labs, and the Intel plant, because, well, simple people operate those.

  • 505 yeah!!

  • damn i miis new mexico! i lived rite att the base of the sandias.

i hate it here in louisiana

  • how awesome i wanna go there.

  • thanks for posting this

wait to keep it burque man

    oh...and will you marry me?

  • real "Duke City" natives think the "Burque" thing is pretentious and silly, it is what out of towners say when they are trying to fit in. . . .

  • how many fps ?

and how much time took rec this time lap....?

  • wilson is alive :32

  • just about the only thing that new mexico can be proud of, other than our chili. :(

  • i wad there!

  • I live there.

  • So do I. Sucks doesn't it. LOL!

  • Teehee Looks like fun

  • Wicked Awesome!

  • If things moved this fast all the time, everybody would act like they were on methadryne and life would be like a cartoon.Everything would be meaningless.

  • if we were dead right now,

    our brains wouldn't work, to:jtfraijo

  • they all look dumb.......

    great job

  • What a b#tch, I can't get the time off work. And, i wanted to go this year...

  • time lapse is totally bodacious...LOL....has anyone ever heard of the theroy that our lives move at the speed of light, but our brains cannot process them that fast so it slows "life" down so it can process it and that is the reaso why we have deja vu, because we have already expierenced everything. some of us might be dead right now and not even know it yet....LOL

  • interesting theory, but if you're dead your mind is gone - meaning your brain would cease to function and thus the memory's being processed slowly wouldn't occur. Death = no brain activity, which = no mental cognition or thought.

  • perhaps its like when "your life flashes before your eyes" where everything happens all at once or maybe its the electricity that runs through our bodies that stays around longer than our actual body and leaves us with our final moments!?!?!meh, IDK, i was just thinking outloud :-)

  • If we were living at the speed of light, we wouldn't die at all, because we wouldn't age.

  • how do you know? have you ever lived at the speed of light?..lol

  • I thought that was accepted fact, not just theory, that if you traveled at the speed of light, you would not age and you could come back to earth and all your friends would be old or dead like Rip Van Winkle and you would be the same.or Is that Einstein's theory?

  • cool!

  • Awesome video. Like the speedy balloons. *****

  • Love the timelapsed fireworks!

  • The Ballon Fiestas of ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO!! Its Beautiful!!!!!

  • Totally f*ckin sweet.

I used to live there, found this video while searching "Albuquerque"

  • Well edited to the music.

  • Fantastic and joyful. Coolest thing I've ever seen.

  • If you have never been here to Albuquerque to see this you have got to! It's amazing!

  • Nice!Love!

  • I was totally at the balloon fiesta on one of those days!

I live in Albuquerque, and I always try to go as often as I can.

But yeah, I remember see that sort of display of fireworks.

  • One of the most delightful things I've ever seen. Hoorah!

  • very nice idea!!

    well chosen music!!

    great!

  • how you make such a vid, take every minute a pic ?

  • AWSOME VID! hopes it inspires people to come dwn here to ABQ and see it for themselves! lol I rode in one and its amazing to look out from a wicker basket hundreds of feet high!

  • GREAT vid! 5/5

whats the name of the song?

  • I live in Albuquequerque. I really love it! My home!

  • ha ha me too!

  • sweet vid , the drum and bass was a nice touch.

  • awesome!!!

  • Very fine. Well done! The fireworks were a super extra.

  • thanks for this video. do you mind if i use it on my myspace? i live in the Duke City, and i was headed down alameda a month ago when fiesta was in full force. intense!

  • awesome videos i really hope to get down there next year i have some ballooning timelaspes on my page check em out

  • if anybody is wondering y the people wre only using the burners at night, thats becaue it was too windy for the balloons to be inflated and glowing

  • Fantastic and joyful. What's the music on the soundtrack?

  • Kicks fuckin ass!! i love the turkey legs.

  • I walk out the front door of my house and see multi-colored gems floating effortlessly, silently, through the sky. Albuquerque is an amazing place to live. I'll have a video later today showing a balloon landing and being put away.

  • Nice video. I live in London, Ontario, Canada and we have the Libro London Balloon Festival here with 25 balloons and 5 shapes. I was in Albuquerque in 2000, 2001 and 2005 crewing with Dale Ritchie from Alberta (he flies the Cow)I work with Wayne Metler from Fantasy Balloons here in Ontario.

  • ya dude, i live in albuquerque and thi shit is goin on right now! its fucking amazing. too bad tomorrow is the last day though

  • nice..

  • Great job!

  • its like watching water droplets fall up into the sky. nice video

  • Coolest thing I've ever seen.

  • Thanks for this amazing glimpse into the festival, It's on my hit list for holidays, this has just confirmed it should be sooner rather than later;)

  • cool

  • i live in albuquerque I go to every balloon festa i crew for 2 balloons I have been in them 20 times and i was there(move here!!!)

  • i would love to have been there. for two reasons. to see the balloons, and because that's where my parents were married!!

  • i have crewed for the flag balloon, the shuttle, and the lighthouse

  • i just moved here to albuquerque and i hate it. but this is prety cool.

  • Check out my Time laps photography with moving camera through the boardwalk of Venice Beach CA.

  • That is amazing!

  • looks like the Koopa was wipin his ass on the crowd lmao

  • INCREDIBLE!

  • Excellent time-lapse subject choice. I like the music. A slow and majestic event, turns into a surreal, animated even trippy performance. The Turtle backing away has cartoon quality at this speed. Great stuff. I can see this one playing in a London dance club.

  • I went to that!

  • i lived in Albuquerque for 11 years

  • awesum video

  • i'm moving to albuquerque in a few years. i can't wait to see this in person!

  • You captured some very beautiful images but the musical choice bothers me. It doesn't capture the enormity, the grandeur, or the slight humor found in the time-lapse rendering of cartoon flowers, turtles and stagecoaches floating away into the sky while throngs of humanity scurry about on the ground below.

  • awesome vid! =D

  • Looks like you shot the daytime footage from our tower (media tent) nice work.

  • Ha, yea, from the KOAT pad. I was on the lift for one of the shots and another was on our trailer.

  • very cool video :o)

  • nice video!

  • awesome i think time lapse is very cool with hot air balloons

  • Wow, sweet vid man. cool song too

  • yo - greatest idea ever....most people would be upset by not having "1" good photo...i dig it.

help me out though - how do you put music behind a time lapse video?????let me know man...i've got a few to put up as well.

  • that was whicked cool!

  • awesome! I lived there for 21 years, and I miss the hell out of it. I'll be there next October! count on that

  • I miss going to those things.

  • fantastic

  • Man, this does Albuquerque some justice! Very nice work:)

  • Fly my pretties, FLY!! Dude, my mom was at that thing! I wonder if she's in any of these frames.

  • nice!

  • That is a fantastic vid! I have been there too in 1998 ... brought back wonderful memories!

  • Awesome video, especially the balloons taking off and the long exposure at the end (clouds/moon) look kind of surreal.

  • I went to see what is supposed to be the biggest hot air balloon festival in UK which takes place in August in Bristol but the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta knocks its socks off.

  • What is that song? So catchy... great video. How many pictures did you use to make that?

  • Awesome job! I'm inspired! My attempt is pretty elementary, but you picked great angles and really nailed the fireworks the second time around.

  • Can someone tell me what the name of the song is in this vid? Thanks!

  • wow cool..how did u film this?

  • great job! very cool vid of the balloon fiesta.

  • The video was good, but it could have been much better. I was there this year. The first part was from the second Saturday. The weather was bad, so not very many balloons flew and the field was shut down half way through the first wave. There was also shots of a failed balloon glow (just burners)--that and the fireworks were extremely boreing. The best shot was the special shapes mass acencion on Thursday, but the shot ends before the competition pilots flew onto the field.

  • I was one of the balloon pilots who flew at this years fiesta. I flew the day this was shot, though I am not sure if it got me or not! It was a fun flight. My launch site was way up on the north end of the field so I was kind of out of the way of most people.

  • This is fantastic. I've been to the fiesta, so it's great to see what I saw, only much faster. Those Special Shape mass asscensions look different when they all fly off at once...

Love that shot with the moon and the clouds.

    Great work!

  • Awesome... You don't realize how much those balloons move around when you're actually there!

  • Terrific video. I watched the balloons from a distance and drove amidst them on Paseo and in Corrales. I didn't go to Fiesta Park this year though.

Thanks for putting together an awesome video of it all. The coolest part is watching the courses of the balloons, something that's not so evident to the casual observer in realtime.

  • This is supper cool. I was there too and posted our "Splash and Dash". But this is a great montage of the event!

  • that is awesome

  • we took the whole family up and had a great time! Thanks Fiesta People ... and especially Balloonists! You put a beautiful face on New Mexico!

  • This is so cool. It's crazy how those baloons fly in ABQ. The music makes this extra awsome.
