wrong dont cast arcane shot it's low damage in the time you do arcane you can do like 2 times steady and steady is much more powerful so arcane is only good for pvp.

@IteachBF agreed ^^ , arcane shot fails tbh, if your sv a very good rotation is hunters mark (ofc)-explosive shot-black arrow- serpent sting-steady shot (till explosive shot is ready again), its pretty effective though marksman is better for better geared hunters tbh :P

ok for the record, DO NOT gem arpen until u have 700 passive arpen. gem agi and colllect gear that has arpen stats. this will raise your dps rather than just gem to 722 or w.e and then get a trink. get 700 passive then gem straight apen until you hit 1400 total. also. the initial first two rotations use arcane shot because it gets your burst up then once your bleed effects are applied you drop it and just do chimer, aimed and steady. and macro silence in if you arent meant to cc anything.

Serpent Sting>Kill Shot>Chimera Shot>aimed shot>Steady Shot x4 (rinse and repeat. Arcane shot should only be used when your moving due to mechanics of the fight, arcane shot is there so that way you maintain your DPS while being mobile.

if your stacking armor pen then you dont need arcane shot, rotation should be Serpent Sting>kill shot>chimera Shot>aimed shot> steady shot x4 ( Rinse repeat )

arcane shot should only be used when you are moving so that you still maintain your DPS without sacraficing any DPS while being mobile.

Arcane shot doesn't gain anything from armor pen, a steady shot does. A steady shot hasted down to 1,5 sec costs just as much mana as an arcane shot, but does 1,5 to 2 times the dmg

First: Use of Arc.S. is used by MM but only at lower levels of arp (mostly when you still gem AGI as MM)

Second: You don't cycle through that, you prioritize!

So if HM and SerpSt are up you prioritize like followed

Chim Sh > Aim Sh > (Arc Sh) > St Sh

So the moment something is of cooldown on the left side you pick that one over "spamming steady"

What to gem and when to include Arc Shot?? I would advise checking that on a spreadsheet like Female Dwarf Hunter

You're not thinking about the global Cd's. When chimera shot is ready, there should be 1,5 Sec until aimed shot is ready.

your current glyphs are wrong....

you don't use the chimera glyph because it doesn't come in handy in your rotation.... yes mm hunter have a rotation not a prio-list... mark+serpent on the target then

chimera+silencing -> aimed -> 3x steady ^^

so you loose this an dmees it up and the glyph probably brings -dps ^^ use the killshot glyph ^^ in a raidencouter you'll often use it 3-4 times with this glyph with readiness rdy even more often ^^

Ok i can tell you several things you can change to make it more effective, first of all, open with aimed shot, end with chimera shot. Aimed shot increases all ranged damage done to the target by 500+ so thats an extra 500 dps, then silencing shot, arcane shot, chimera shot, spam steady chot. The reason you save chimera to the end is it does damage based off of how much your serpent sting has done. The rotation repeats when aimed shot comes back up.

Chimera shot does the total dmg of the full duration of a serpent sting, not how much damage it has done so far.

I don't even use aimed shot in my rotation at all. Just when on the move for an instant shot. You can also macro silencing shot in with all your shots so you automatically use it every time it's off CD.

Ok well, if you dont use aimed shot at all I would hate to see your dps, I am a mm hunter with 5.5k gs doing more dps than those with a 5.8k gs and aimed shot is usually the second thing on my dps recount and crits 78% of the time on a typical boss fight. If you dont use it, you may want to invest in it. Also wild quiver or whatever comes from aimed shot crits, so.... use it.

I do use it, just not in normal rotation because so many fights require you to move around. I want to be sure I have shots available as I'm moving. This is my 2nd hunter to level, and his GS is only 4299 since i just started gearing him, and he's around 4k dps on heroic bosses (which is what I'm doing for now) and that's plenty for his gear. How is AS your second highest shot? Auto be much higher than anything else, steady 2nd, then chimera and aimed. Also, wild quiver procs on auto shot not AS.

Either way, Aimed shot crits frequently, and I do not spam steady shot like some hunters, instead I make the most of all my shots, steady shot on crit hits for 7k~, my aimed shot crits for 9k or more, having a 78% crit rating over steady shot with a 52% crit. Clearly, aimed shot is the more logical choice, not to mention if you have improved steady shot you will proc your aimed shot to do 15% more damage right after a steady shot, making steady shot the last you want before aimed.

I am not one to cast off others' opinions, so I did some tinkering and I think putting AS back into my rotation is a noticeable increase. I still usually manage about 4 steady shots while AS and chimera are on CD, but have a nice rhythm now. Also, instead of using silencing you can macro it to you other shots, as well as kill command so you always use them when ready. There is a line you can put in front of the macro to prevent error messages when they are on CD. I'll post below when I find it.

Actually, Although you are correct in saying everything, your CS doesnt go on how much your SS has done it goes on how much it would have done by 40% e.g. it does 40% of the damage if the sting had lasted its full rotation so you dont actually have to wait for it to go through :)

Ok i play a MM hunter myself but i see your not really using Silence shot my question is why not its instant and dont share CD's = it will burst ur dps, and ur not using Kill command too. i agree whit u that i should start out whit a serpent sting but then dont use chimera cause all the dmg that ur serpent sting does will chimera do 40% of that dmg in an instant shot, i got no more to say

You can improve your DPS further by spamming SS one more time until the global CD of chimera is up at the last time simply because it will raise your dps and the extra ticks will make the CS hit harder raising your dps further. Always be spamming or you suck.

sry about not responding but yeah i have always macro'd silencing shot to chimera i no longer use arcane shot since i got to 50% arp and as far as mana regen i never have to use viper in a 25 man because alot of other classes have replenishment and in the MM tree u get a talent that regens your mana when u use rapid fire and because of rediness you use it alot

im currently playing a survival hunter and looking to try marksman out, im geared in about toc 10/25 gear. One question how is the mana management because in the survival tree u get a replenish buff which is helpfull, does marksman have have anything to help you have viper off for longer (assuming you are self buffed)

If you choose the max DPS 7/57/7 build that doesn't pick up Efficiency or Rapid Recuperation, mana's going to suffer, especially in 5 mans. I still have Volley glyphed, but often times I'd be near OOM after a chain pull of 3-4 groups. Plus this build brings almost no buffs (aside from TSA which can be pumped off) to the raid, but it'll be the best personal DPS provided you gear, gem, and glyph correctly.

I pick this for simplicity. If I wanted to buff my raid I'd play a support class.
