  • "it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick."

"I have not come for the righteous, but for sinners."

  • everyone needs forgiveness heroclix0rz just because ppl do good doesnt mean there perfect

  • @JumpingCrackers I phrased it weird. What I mean is ppl think there's some sort of curve where the most "evil" person in the world deserves 0% grace and the most "perfect" person deserves 100% grace. You see this when the church shuns people they deem sinners as 'unworthy'. However, Grace by its very nature is not needed by someone who is "perfect"; in fact, on the contrary it is most needed by that person who is most "evil". The song points this out as a common fallacy that so many fail to see.

  • too bad nobody knows how to play any of there songs right on guitar MEEEH!

  • grace, make your way. :)

  • does anyone know what is on top of that shiva amp??

  • one of my favorite bands, but I can only hear your dumbass girlfriend singing in the backround..

  • ACB is amazing. Anybody who hasn't already should read the HM interview that Cody put up on their myspace. It clears so much up. If hellohighwater, which is amazing as well, is just a stepping stone, then I can not wait to see what Cody is gonna do next. Great video. Thanks man.

  • dude he deleted the myspace, hopefully hes new solo band didnt break up already

  • yeah its sad, cause that music was awesome, now he has a studio in nashville with aaron, i hope he doesn't stop making music, i would be so sad

  • man, they really have some great tone.. Call it whatever genre you please, its not your average run in the mill band by all means...... whoooh... the Bogner shiva amp sounds redik.

  • hey man, i've been trying to figure out if he uses the EL34 version or the 6L6 version of the Shiva. I'm fairly certain he uses the 6L6, but that just what I "THINK" based on what I can hear. Do you have any idea? I figured you might know, since you obviously have some knowledge of the gear he uses.

  • hahaah this is a horrible recording. you cant hear him at all

  • Have you ever tried to record a live show with an amateur camera? This is incredibly good all things considered.

  • wow

  • not emo. this is actually the most creative and inspirational set of individuals ive everr witnessed.

  • I wouldn't NOT call it emo. Emo doesn't automatically = bad/uncreative. Check out bands like Braid, old Mock Orange, and the first Appleseed Cast album is similar to to this actually.

But I mus say, I am quite a big ACB fan.

  • suck it. you know nothing about music

  • Grace, make your way to the well; to those who deserve it, cause after all they've earned it.

But vain, it's in vain, cause they don't need it.

Grace, make your way, make your way.

  • grace make your way to the WORLD

  • lol i can't tell if you were claiming that those are the correct lyrics or just suggesting that grace should make its way to the WORLD instead of a select few.

  • no, i got told that they're the correct lyrics :]

  • i see. well my lyrics booklet that came with the CD says "well", plus it makes more sense that way. it's a reference to jesus saying, "it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." everyone thinks only people who EARN grace or forgiveness should get it, but what most don't realize is people who do good already don't need grace. so to only be forgiving to good people is "in vain....cus they don't need it."

  • Pwnd in the most Ultimate manner.

  • @heroclix0rz very well done

  • @heroclix0rz Mark 2:17

  • @heroclix0rz sorry but you are all wrong. that's not what he is saying at all. the bible even says that NO ONE can get to heaven by good deeds alone. what cody is talking about in this song is all the people that think they get into heaven by being good. he says "its in vein" because the people like that think its in vein because they think they've already earned their way. grace is for everyone, and everyone needs it. i feel bad for cody because there are many that dont understand his songs.

  • @showmeiwaspoor on the contrary, i think the only "wrong" sentence here is the one that said "sorry but you are all wrong".

I don't even care if you are cody himself, people take away from it their own interpretation, including you.

  • @heroclix0rz but you dont understand. it shouldnt be left to interpretation. hes saying exactly what he means, but no one understands it. he is a genius that is so overlooked.

  • @showmeiwaspoor Also, as a friendly rebuttal, your interpretation is valid, but as far as the intentions of song is concerned you have taken the "it's in vain" line (which was intended to refer to how useless it is to offer grace to someone who already does everything right) and used it instead to describe the 'perfect person's' actions. Your interpretation makes the song about accepting christ (God vs Man) when I believe it is about how christians tend to treat non-christians (Man vs Man).

  • @heroclix0rz yeah, it was a typo.

  • @showmeiwaspoor ....I don't understand, your original post was a typo? Correct me if I'm wrong, but what I understand your interpretation to be is: People do good things and think it will get them into heaven, but these good actions are in vain because the only way into heaven is through Christ and only his grace will let us in. Am I understanding you correctly? If so I can agree with that point, but I assumed that was a given and this song went a little deeper....cont...

  • @showmeiwaspoor It explains that if everyone were perfect (like those stereo-typical self-righteous christians) then there wouldn't be any use for Grace. This song points at people who compare themselves to others, at christians who think they are morally "better" than someone else, and tells them to shut it because the fact that Grace exists means God doesn't require you to be perfect.

  • @heroclix0rz that's why your first comment doesn't make sense. everyone needs grace. that's why god sent jesus to die for us.

  • @showmeiwaspoor No sir, I believe you just read it too literally. The point is the same. Many people believe grace is only to be given to the ones who earn it, but this logic is a paradox when you consider the definition of Grace. And that is the point of the song summed up into one sentence.

BTW, never say someone's interpretation is wrong. Art IS interpretation. Art EXISTS because we see it. To claim someone's interpretation is wrong is to claim a person did not have a thought. You cannot.

  • @heroclix0rz you dont understand. you shouldnt have to interpret. cody is saying exactly what he means. why is that so hard to understand?

  • @showmeiwaspoor You must interpret everything. I think therefore I am. If we do not reason, words are meaningless.

Here's a better question. Why is it that I have accepted nearly everything you have said and yet you cannot accept a single thing I have said? It seems to me that you cannot see my eyes for the plank in your own.

I admire your interest in the poetry that is ACB, but you need to learn to not be so rigid with what you believe to be undeniable fact.

  • @heroclix0rz i never said it was undeniable, there are obviously ways someone could put a flaw in christianity. all i am saying is that cody is saying what he means, and people twist it around too much to trey to think of complex meanings, but hes really just spitting truth.

  • @showmeiwaspoor "sometimes a hat is just a hat", you're right. but not in this case. The lyrics align with my interpretation pretty clearly.

Also I'm done debating this. We can't take this any further.

  • @heroclix0rz just read the bible and you'll understand my point. we all need grace. that's all im saying. listen to any as cities burn song ever and its all about grace and how we all need it.

  • @showmeiwaspoor I think you have good intentions here, but it might be that you don't understand who the lyrics are talking to because YOU ARE who they are talking to. You're acting pretty self-righteous here.

BTW, I guarantee you haven't listened to/read the lyrics from this band, let alone this album, more than I have. Guarantee it.

  • @heroclix0rz i gaurantee you are wrong. i listen to this band 23 out of 24 hours a day, every album is perfect and cody is the most genius person alive. they are by far my favorite band, and their meanings are so honest and passionate, that even a song besides the widow on SILYAYD has made me cry, yeah it did. their lyrics and music mean so much to be i can't even explain to you how much.

  • @showmeiwaspoor agreed wholeheartedly. the final track on SILYAYD is the best love song in history as it is the only song to actually describe actual love. Tell me, if you had to sum up Come Now Sleep using 1 line from the album, which one would you choose?

  • @heroclix0rz man there is so many good ones.

i gues if i had to, when heaven comes i swear it comes in love.

  • @showmeiwaspoor That's a great one. i'm particularly fond of "I think our god isn't god if he fits inside our heads." Clouds might be the most significant collection of words that not many people have heard. What a shame.

  • @heroclix0rz actually, i am going to have to agree with you there. that's the main song that made me start becoming a christian. not many people understand that lyric and think they are literally saying there is no god.

  • @showmeiwaspoor

showmeiwaspoor. love the name. poor in spirit right?

  • @jschristian44 was that meant to be condescending?

  • @heroclix0rz

look down on them? is that what you mean? no? i just meant is that what his/her name means?

  • @jschristian44 O ok, I'm sorry. I just assumed you were trolling because it's a line from Empire by As Cities Burn.

  • Comment removed

  • @heroclix0rz agree

  • @heroclix0rz its kind a bit of a sarcastic song. you dont earn grace. grace is something given to you that you dont deserve.

  • @mynameisdarthbader refer to the comment i just made to JumpingCrackers. You are right, but the song isn't necessarily making that point as much as it is saying that, basically, these days we're giving grace to exactly the wrong people: the "well", the people who "don't need it".

  • @mynameisdarthbader *its a bit of a sarcastic song.* hope that makes more sense

  • @mynameisdarthbader

i think that's what they are trying to tell the listener's. i mean i think that's the point to this song. that you don't need to earn forgiveness and grace, god already gave it to you.

  • @jschristian44 that sounds more like it

  • @jschristian44 actually, i think it's more about Christians who think they're better than everyone else, and they don't need forgivness because they're perfect.

  • Looks like a church basement to me.

  • great song :)

    (im the 4000th viewer :D)

  • This is a pretty good song.

  • ya where is this? it looks like someones basement

  • I love this song

  • excelent band, i love the old material and brand new, different but amazing.
