  • shiiit i love this tune totally forgat...

    Who.WHO ARE U? Imbatman.

  • probably one of the best "games of a movie" ever made - leaps and bounds ahead of it's time.

    i loved it.

  • JAMMMMM!

  • @gmonsterlovesoats

oh yes...! - The only way for me to see the end of this game... ;D

  • I remember thinking it looked fantastic compared to the C64. The bloody level where u had to guess three items always annoyed me

  • in c64 version the joker has the last laugh

  • My god - Been trying to complete the 1st level on winuae. And for the life of me i cant do it now......Even with save states -lol.I used to do it all the time in the late 80s on my amiga.I think modern games have weakend my skills somewhat.Todays gamers would weep at this sort of difficulty level.

  • This was my first Amiga's game..... Just one word.... FANTASTIC......

  • @TheViper77wsb yea cool 80s game, how comes u didnt get one before 89 then as they first came out in 85, and amiga 500 in 87, my cousin got the amiga500 in 87 and my dad got amiga in 85 the first 32 bit computer

  • @Fuiers - What a stupid comment. Are you stupid?

  • I could never complete any level apart from the Bat Cave. I had to use the infinite lived and skip level cheat. That took the play out of the game. Infinite energy and time would have solved three of the levels.

With the cheat all the pictures at the end were upside down.

I'd never seen to movie then so the game didn't mean too much.

  • Wicked! It is one of my favourite game on the Amiga.

  • Awesome!

The first game I ever completed!!!

  • BUAHYAHAHHAHAHA MASAKRA ALE UBAW!!!HAHAH JA TA GRE PRZESZEDLEM NA C64 ALE WIDZAC NA ZBAKU JAK KTOS TAK DOBRZE GRA :)TO MAASAKIER:)

  • Batman: Arkham Asylyum and Arkham City are no match for this game.

  • I never made it past the bloody puzzle bit either. I think, by pure fluke I did get to the batwing level once or twice. I was quite young and didnt really understand that puzzle bit, still used to play over and over again tho. Thanks for finally letting me see the whole game after all these years!

  • I never made it past the minigame (code?) after the driving stage. What an half assed ending

  • this game was great. the snes batman was really good as well

  • First 16bit game I played and completed. The Batmobile and Batwing sections were really well done I tought

  • impressive for the day. First game I played on the amiga, the bar was always set high but the amiga delivered!

  • I used to joke about batman's hand positioning, and how he swung from his bat-wang. Also the batwang could be used to knock enemies off screen as well, I missed this game, thanks for playing and posting.

  • i remember beatin this game as a kid, i hit the joker so soon he just fell to the gargoyle statue and just laid there , he might have even survived XD

but to be honest i still think the game was pretty crappy :/

  • No intro?

  • I remember I had this on the Hollywood Collection for the Atari ST with Last crusade Robocop and Ghostbusters 2. Some of the best games at the time i think- maybe. I used to have more patience. These old amiga games are so clunky compared to nintendo stuff at the same time even. Don't you just want to break out Mario after seeing this geriatric Batman.

  • @francotron2000 I would rather put a bullet in Mario's head actually, that little fat fuck is everywhere ;), so for me personally although i tried Mario back in the day i just couldn't stand the game, the C64 & Amiga was where it was at in my opinion :)

  • Wow! I don't even know what to say. Watching this game...

Seriously, this feels like if the Atari 2600 had better controls.

  • Bob is very rude.

  • I see weve come a long way with games like Arkham Asylum

  • I always liked on the Amiga how The Joker actually falls passed all the floors you just went up. Compared to the C64 where he just hits the ground after about 2 storys lol

  • Does anyone remember the code you punched in at the title screen?

It turns the screen upside down and warps you directly to the final level.

  • @AwollSGF jammmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • still mind when I had this. It was an illegal copy and the guy that gave me it fucked about with the life bar so instead of joker it was a fucked up skull thing. I still mind it gave me chills.

  • Must be really good at video games. Sounds like you are dude.

  • This one is my favorite video game. Thanks for posting dude.

  • Will you do a Amiga Longplay of Superman The Man Of Steel and a Amiga Longplay of The Amazing Spider-Man soon please? We would love to see those. Thanks dude.

  • JAMMMMM that was a cheat for all levels or infinite health i think. im 27 now and i still remember that cheat LOL one of the best movie to game conversions to this day in my opinion.

  • JAMMMMM that was a cheat for all levels or infinite health i think. im 27 now and i still remember that cheat LOL one of the best movie to game conversions to this day in my opinion.

  • The grappling gun sounds like Donald Duck! :D

  • Joker has a lot of balloons :)

  • I could never get past the level with the flying machine!

  • The patience I must have had when I was younger amazes me, I remember the best thing was taking the goons out with the bat grapple.

  • the end pathetic lmfao

  • i like the soundtrack of the first level.

  • I loved the C-64 version and worshipped the Amiga version - on the two computers, I've completed this game more times than I care to remember :)

  • hehe this was one of my first amiga games. really nice

i miss all the old games really.

  • Yeah, I remember ths game. It was awesome.

  • nice playing

  • Remember playing this game over and over because of the great driving/flying sequences. :)

  • His slingshot kinda sounds like Donald Duck, lol. xD

  • this was the first amiga game i ever played..i bought the batpack a500 when it came out...ahhh..great memories

  • @brewt1mer how comes u didnt get it in 87?

  • I loved this game ..... still do now.

I remember spending a months pocket money on this ..... I played it endlessly for moths until I eventually completed it.

  • This is the first game i played on the Amiga and after owning a C64 for years this looked amazing.

  • wow, what a sh#tty confrontation with the joker lol. Bat whip his @ss off the building without a word ever being said? Bullsh#t

  • Ahh yes. This damn game bring back some solid memories of ones youth eh. The graphics and sound were top notch for the time ^_^ . But boy was it a hard game or what!

  • I remember playing this on my mate's Amiga and never being able to do the Smilex combo bit.

    Damn you Ocean.

  • This game raped me when I was a kid and it continues to do so.

    Mine's on a VGA DOS.

Batmobile level sucks and it doesn't 'flow', y'know? You hit cars no matter how far you are from them.

  • Jammmmm

  • JAMMMMMMMMMM

  • God I remember this so well !!! I also remember the graphics being amazing on the car stage... how times change :)

  • Fucking loved this at the time, remember getting an Amiga Batman pack for Christmas and thrashing this game for days! Does look well ropey now though lol

  • remeber when I was a child and I played Batman, Lemmings, Turrican on my Amiga!!!

  • I cant help it, those sound effects in this game sound like somebody did them with their mouth lol

  • How do you put vids longer than 10mins on YT?

I remember thinking Amiga graphics were awsome after changing from the C64, but looking back now they are nothing compared with todays machines, lol! you have to appreciate how much programming went into them those years ago...

  • Read our channel FAQ :)

  • @cubex55 - Oh I see, you must get asked that alot then, lol, Its a damn shame coz I joined in 2006 so I coulda done it then, I'm guessing by the way you answered that it is not possible for me to change it now and have the same powers as yourself?

    Thanks...

  • Yeah all the time :P

And nope sorry - not possible anymore :)

  • @CrustyBiker

Show me a 2D-game on the PC, that has better graphics than Turrican 2

  • The Saturday Daily Mirror used to have a kids computer section in the early 90s. Thankfully, they had a cheat for this garbage. During the title screen type: mjjjjjjjjjjjjj.

  • The End for the time being? The Joker fell down like 100 feet and made a nice big splat. He ain't coming back XD

  • i love this game.

fuck, i cant play it in my A4000,Even with whdload it doesnt work.

  • Ahh... A classic! Second game I ever played. Batman Pack FTW.

Never got past the second level, I never got used to the batmobile grappling hook. Hardly ever got past the first, I'd get all nervous the longer it went on. Great to see it again. Can't believe that 1st level only took 5 minutes! Felt like years when I used to play it. Congrats on beating it with one life! I have to get an emulator now.

  • Can anyone remember the other Batman game? It was a kind of jump&run adventure, but with the old DC-comic character, not the "Warner Bros" one.

  • lol I reamber getting this game for my 10th birthday I think it was inculded in the hollywood collection. Hard game to finish

  • anyone knows were can i download a good amiga emulator for pc and games? thanks

  • Read our channel FAQ :)

  • WinUAE is pretty good. Google it.

  • Well, that ending was anti-climatic

  • You mean "anti-climaCtic"??

  • I remember this game taking "years" to load on the amiga.

  • First game I ever finished ( without cheats) was aged 7/8. Took almost a year, man I had patience back then T_T

Made me into the hardcore player I am today :D

  • You must have been a pretty hardcore kid!

I was originally playing this at about the same age and I could barely finish it even WITH cheats.

  • WOW! This was one of the very first games I ever played on my Amiga :)

    My first was Bionic command.

  • This game awesome & is so faithful to the movie, that you need to have seen for the movie for the game to make any sense.

  • Why are all the Amiga games SO HARD TO PLAY??

  • This was common in the 80s - because games were all pretty short the dificulty was high to have more "replay" value - that way the player wasnt able to beat the game on the day he bought it.

  • fuckin hell though...that 2nd level jus seemed to go on forever LOL

  • My friend got the Amiga 500 Flight Of Fantasy pack at christmas 1990. He got the hollywood collection and Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge as extra christmas presents. Needless to say we never left his room until it was time to go back to school. These days i have a mint flight of fantasy A500 pack, the hollywood collection and all the lotus games plus many other amigas and games. I still play this one to death, one of my favourite games ever. Superb!!!

  • arrr ur so lucky man, i had one years ago an i really wish i could have one in good condition :(

  • good old days!!! one of the best amiga games!

  • I loved this game, I was about 8 when it came out

    so epic !

  • Can sombody please make an mp3 sountrack of this game? A good quality one. I so want that batmobile track for in the car....

  • You can find downlaod links for all the music in our channel FAQ :)

  • This is one of the best computer games I have ever come across in my life - 20 years on and it feels like yesterday for me - the intro music and this music being played is the best - man on a mission.

  • fucking loved this game, i grew up on this man, the bat mobile was quality

  • One of the first games I bought for my amiga too. I remember taking ages to complete the first level. But then again I was only a child!

Its also one of the only amiga games I have with the smaller box. For such a big release I would have expected a full sized box :p

  • Huh, I guess I now know where the Sega CD driving sequences in Batman Returns got its inspiration.

  • The goon in green with the long hair at Axis is Bob the Goon, awesome! Love that sequence, "Jack is dead, the Joker lives"

  • Most movie tie-ins were a let down but this was one of the few that was addictive.

I remember the cheat - type in JAM on the title screen and keep pressing M until the screen goes upside down!

  • just watched spectrum version...gulf in class although gameplay is all important?

  • This was the first game i ever got on my new Amiga 500 back in January 1990, those were the days

  • The A500 is stll very much alive and well in my house - good games never date...

  • @iainhead how comes u didnt get it in 89? wen pack came out

  • @mikekaraoke because i was barely 10 years old and had no financial means of my own :-(

  • @mikekaraoke damn iain, my dad got first Amiga in 85, then i got one for my birthday the amiga 500 in 87 :-]

  • i used to play this for a couple of hours every day! I got to the point where i could complete it most of the time. although if you didnt hit the joker on the helicopter on the last level - that was it game over. damn.

  • Those driving sections really were the shit those days!

    Loved them.

  • remember playing this on my amiga500 back in the days. so funny the sound that comes from the bombs that the guys are throwing at Batman

  • 16 years since I last played it, but I still know the Axis Chemical Factory off by heart! Could complete every level without JAMMMM except the Batmobile one :(

  • It's a nice touch that one of the goons looks like Bob from the movie.

  • Used to play this a lot on my friends A500 when I was about 9. Couldn't afford an Amiga back in the day, so I had to play on my friends instead :P - still looks as hard today as it ever did! Awesome playthrough; never finished this personally. Only ever reached the Batwing level back in the day. On reflection, I'm amused at how the game portrays the first level as an assassination - Batman has CLEARLY been paid to make a hit on Jack and isn't going to stop until he's TAKEN HIM DOWN... Amazing :)

  • oh mein gott ist das schlecht....

meine oma spielt das mit mehr geschick durch..

    keinen Stern

    Nize

  • first game I ever played in 1988, who would have thought 20 years on we would playing games like spore, crysis etc...great memories!

  • I had the spectrum and amiga version, i think the spectrum version is a little easier though. I could never get passed those damn rats

  • This game is so!! cool + great soundtrack

  • great game completed it many times

  • What the fuck this very hard game you couldn't jump!

It was so hard that I passed the 1st level only 3 times!

We fallen from too high,we died!

In NES version we could fall from a skyscraper we didn't die,but "falling" in Amiga version was more realistic!

I remember a little the second level we drove the batmobile, didn't it?

Aaaaah! I always prefered the NES version!

(but there was no grapping) and enemies like Killer Moth, weren't from the movie!

My only positive rate in Amiga version:

    the music!

  • i remember the cheat majjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj

  • I thought it was jammmmmmmm then the screen went upside down.

  • wow, that had to be the longest fall in video game history

  • I remember that if you didn't hit the joker with your ropey thing at the end he just flew off and you were left standing on the roof like a lemon.

  • Awesome game. Somewhat crappy ending, but you can't really ask for much of one after seeing The Joker plummet for a full 10 seconds!

That was always enough for me as a kid!

  • Brings back memories. That game was so much fun to play as a kid. I remember not knowing what to do at the end but when I finally figured it out, I laughed so hard during Joker's long way down.

  • Holds up well after all these years.

  • all that for no ending whatso ever?

other then that this game is great.

  • i still remember the cheats for this game. jammmmmmmmmmm at the title screen. never was able to get to the last level though. my disk wouldnt load it

  • 21:46 onwards...

    OWNED.

  • I agree.

  • they should have had the jokers laugh at the end of the game like they do in the movie

  • wicked games loved it at 10 and completed it!!

  • As you can see from this video and what i remember from the past is that this is one fucking hard game!

  • In this game, a big rat can hurt Batman as much as a grenade to the head lol

  • The game wheres everything is possible

  • i loved playing the batmobile part but didnt know what to do, fun game

  • the bit at 0:30 was so difficult when i played it at the time

  • The jokers face that appears when you loose energy looks like somthing from The Thing. Also the joker looks so funny as hes falling at the end.

  • This looks good but the music on the spectrum version was better. Including the sounds of the batrope and batarangs.

  • I played this game to death as a kid, but its only just occured to me that the platformy bits are essentially just a clone of Bionic Commando.

  • wow.. this brings me back about 17 years.. thanks for the nostalgia :)

    this was a great game

  • It's great game !!!! Fantastic !!!

Where can I find that game for download ???

    PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!

  • I Loved that game too. We used to pla it my older brother and me, i was 8 years or so.

We never did it then. Now i play it on emulator, brings back so many memories and feelings.

By now im really good at it, perhaps i should record it tooo and load it up here :)

  • If you are interested in recording Amiga games - join our community (see profile and join the IRC channel) - we can help you with the recording and encoding process :)

  • i like how insted of a life bar, it's batman's face slowly changing to the joker. that's awsome

  • i remember playing this game. me and my 2 brothers striggled getting through the first two levels. Damn it was hard!

  • The main difference seems to be in levels 2 & 4.

The view. In level 4 with the batwing on Amiga time is your enemy althought you may still miss some balloons without loosing energy. On C64 you have to cut the rope on every balloon or you'll loose energy but time is your friend :)

  • Just listened to the C64 version... and in no way does it have better music than this.!!

  • I couldn't believe how much better this looked then my C64 version when I saw it at a mates place. A cheat I found for the C64 version was to get up to Jack on your last life and one hit away from death when you kill him stand close to the end of the ledge. The splash-back kills you at the same time. When the next level starts you have countless lives ;)

  • You are right, the graphics sux for an Amiga game, but the Batmobile part is actually really good.

  • Awesome game ,i spend hours .... play play play... game over !!!

  • The music was better on the C64 version though..

  • Oops, should have said... does anyone have a working ROM of this game? I have a couple but ti always crashes after the first level. I wanna hear the cathedral music again!

  • Man alive! I love this game! I used to play this with my Dad and Sister when I was around 10 yrs old. And yes, the music is the balls :)

It's great to see that so many other people loved this game too. hahahahaha.... Bliss!

  • I remember seeing an Amiga running this game in a shop window (think it was dixons or something) and it was like £400 with this game and I remember looking at it as you would a PS3 or 360 today! and me grabbing my dad and telling him to look how amazing it looks! haha Sweet memories!

  • WOW this really brings back memories! I think this was the first hacked game on the Amiga I ever bought in School. I loved this game, it looked a bit naff but it played really well and it was really challenging! I finished it but it took some time!

The music for the Cathedral lever was great!

  • u know with the bar on bottom, it reminds me doom

  • I had this on the speccy, i couldnt afford an amiga...still cant :o( Fucking hated the batmobile level. Odd really how the batmobile goes faster than the batwing....

  • I could never figure out the mixing chemicals part

  • very short but beautiful... this sure brings back memories!!!

  • If you miss the turning you can take the next one, with the C64 version if you missed it you had to go back.

This version is more exciting, even though I still love the C64 one.

  • jesus this brings me back, i still remember the cheat, jammmmmm. so great.

  • What a cheaply made game, I always wondering how Ocean software could churn out so many movie licences quickly, now we can see why!

  • This is so good! I can't think how many hours of my life I put into this game

  • Balloon cutting level was ma fav...second was the second stage...

  • Wow, that must have been the most unrewarding ending I have ever seen. :P

  • Wow, I never realised how repetetive this game really was. Hasn't aged very well has it?

  • 2nd level of this game was always my favourite!

  • great climax for the joker

  • I used to play this horrible game in the 90s.

  • Great gameplaying on your part.

I never was very good at platformers or action-games of this kind, yet you pulled it off quite well.

It's interesting to watch a videogame played by a real pro. Nice job. 5 stars.

  • Comment from Ironclaw:

Yay!, thanks :). Will replay this game sometime and this time include the intro with its awesome song. and other stuff I may have left out... like the outro.

  • My my this brings back a few memories. I used to play nthis game for hours. One of the few movie to game conversions that was actually pretty damn good. Nothing special Graphics or sound wise (The Cathedral level is a great bit of music though) but it played great!

I remember the Amiga was rife with piracy hehe, every schoolboy at the time had their own business selling copied games! This was one of the first games I got that was a copy!

    Dodgy, dodgy! :-)

  • I always thought the joker falling off the building was a classic ending!

  • Wow it's cool to be able to hear the C64 music (which I heard first) in another form. Awesome, thanks for the post!

  • I don't understand the smilex analysis part. What do you do?

  • There are three products that contain smilex. You analysis 3 at a time and you are told how many of the products have smilex but you are not told which ones so you use trial and error to get the 3 products.

It was a very simple level. On the C64 you could click away at random and more often than not you ended up solving it.

  • It's just like the game Mastermind where you need to find the correct colours.
