  • I thought it was funny when Paul says that this meat industry causes more greenhouse gasses, "APPARENTLY". .. ... in other words, someone told me that this was so...........btw, I am very much on the side of animal rights. Just thought that was one funny addition to his statement.

  • love animalsss <3 xx

  • WHY do we love ,,, woodstock, peace, understanding, love, flowerpower, The Beatles, Paul and ,, WHY not the animals on earth ?

  • I'm Prof. Spira from the all-vegetarian jazz group Breathairean Ensemble and we are very inspired by McCartney's ability to ban meat at Great American Ballpark tomorrow. We are in full support of his courageous efforts and are going to rally and show our appreciation. At 5pm we will meet at the Underground Railroad Freedom Center located at 50 East Freedom Way, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. We will play music and march in support of Brother McCartney!!!

  • Yes! <3

  • isn't yoko's money invested in kobe beef?

  • Hmmm... Monday's no good for me, can we do Thursday?

  • For me, everyday is meat free

    and I love Paul <3

  • Kelly looks so cute like that! I like her blonde short hair!

  • @joeblowthehot congratulations if you're serious

  • @joeblowthehot MMmmmabe.. : D

  • i wont eat meat on monday from now on ....hey paul come on over for dinner to check up on me

  • Is Yoko a vegetarian?

  • this is very good and important to watch i think every one neeeds to watch this because animals have a life to a peeple are so cruel to animals, and if we all did this we could change the world!!! paul has changed me and he can change u cuz... yah... GO PAUL!!!!! yeah sir james paul mccartney!!!!

  • I would take his position a little more seriously if he were to stop jetting all over the world. What he really means is that he wants everyone else to reduce their footprint.

My question is whether or not he plans to at least plane-pool with Al Gore??

  • Yeah its a fun day!

  • Yeah I got a better idea: Don't listen to stupid-ass songs Monday thru Sunday

  • Hahahahahahahahah! No meat on Monday, but is it alright to "Go upstairs and have a S-moke?" Look at how much money you made off that, Paul!

  • I eat meat several times a week, but being a vegetarian does NOT make anyone a better person. But I'm not guilty of encourageing people to do drugs ("A Day In The Life", "I Get By with a Little Help From My Friends") I don't glorify sexual promiscuity to influence young children ("Hi Hi Hi", "In the Backseat of My Car", "Day Tripper", "Why Don't We Do It In the Road") I don't condone violence ("Maxwell's Silver Hammer") I don't like Communism ("Back in the USSR")

  • i love paul, but i really love meat im very conflicted lol

  • I live my life animal-product free.

I think everyone can do one day without meat.

  • So we can all have a Big Mac on Tuesday then ??

  • @Chimbo65 Your completely missing the point

  • Comment removed

  • @TheSquadalahMan

It was just a Joke !!

    Does anybody remember humour??

    Paul would find it funny.

    Oh dear,how sad.

  • but I like meat!

  • @HogwartsCastle

You can gain a lot actually! With vegetarianism you feel healthier and feel better about yourself: No matter how many people make jokes about what you don't eat, you know that in reality you have something better that they don't. and it's a whole lot better than a burger. :D

  • i wanna be a vegitarian :) but giving up meat is so dam hard!! i feel so bad cuz i love animals :(

  • @christellaiffy If you really want to be a vegetarian, it won't be that hard. If you have the feeling you need to eat meat, then get some tofu. It can taste very nice if you do it correctly! :D

  • Wow, this is actually a really good idea. Well done Paul!

  • Ive always wanted to be Vegitarian but I dont like alot of veggies :[

I want to participate though knowing that it will give me a healthier start

  • I too gave up meat over a year ago and feel tons healthier. However a point worth noting is that we also fart... Often more from living on vegetables.

Yet again we have been sold a scam over animals farting. IT DOES NO HARM to the environment whatsoever.

  • as long as i can still eat pasta im fine.

  • im going vegi well im 12 and its hard when your dad doesnt want you to go vegi

  • @TheFungirl27 He probably doesn't support your vegetarianism because it's unhealthy for young, growing teens to be without meat, which is rich in protein... I just want to make sure you know the facts, haha (: Sorry to harp!

  • @LaBelleParisienne1

I know you meant well, so I wont be rude.

Vegetarianism, when practiced correctly is good for ALL stages of life.

  • I recently got to my 6 year mark without any meat! Little by little trying to go Vegan! But just knowing that Sir Paul has been a vegetarian for while and is even a creator of an organization for something meat free...just another great thing in his already amazing profile. And that's why he is amazing!

  • @crazymind Congrats (: Haha I totally agree; Paul is amazing! And while I'm not a vegetarian, I encourage all of my friends to partake in Meat-Free Monday along with me (:

  • @LaBelleParisienne1 Hehe thanks. And that's pretty cool, it's better than nothing, just one step at a time. Being a vegetarian isn't nearly as dificult or restraining as people portray it to be.

  • @crazymind Absolutely. And there's so many reasons to make the change! For your health and the well-being of the world and its inhabitants, not to mention the satisfaction in knowing that you're making a difference in the world!

And you're right! I eat meat about twice a week, and only when it's home-cooked, organic, and free-range meat! I'm waning off of meat slowly but surely. I can already feel the difference!

  • @LaBelleParisienne1 Then more power to you! Yeah, i too feel better without meat physically and more peice of mind knowing i can survive just as well if not better without the death of animal behind animal on my conscience. So, good for you.

  • Wasn't mondays boring already? Naah, just kidding :D

  • You guys are all a bunch of fags. Matter of fact I think I'm gunna have me a steak tonight :D just for you McCartney. Meat with every meal, 7 days a week (Y)

  • Fuck meat-free monday. You shouldn't eat meat on ANY day of the week. Paul Mccartney is a pile of talantless crap. If he gave a fuck about animals then he would forbid his fans from eating meat on any day of the week

filthy murdering meat eaters need to be imprisoned for murder

  • I'm a pollotarian (a type of vegetarian who doesnt eat beef or pork) and so bacically, if I add up the amount of meat I DO eat in a week, I bet I only eat the equivilent of 6 days =)

  • Wowowow! I'm a huge beatle and macca fan, but I eat meat when I want!

  • kelly osbourne: go wash your lazzy ass

  • I'm a vegitarian and fully support this campain. However, it's totally optional. Not eating meat, for some people, just isn't their thing. But skipping for one day is easier than you think, and a good way to bring a family together. I'm happy we have people like Paul, his family, and Yoko (okay, lie, I can never forgive her for what she did to Julian) who can contribute to helping the environment. All you meat eaters: there are plenty of other ways to help out!! :)

  • Paul [puppet mouth] McCartney, looks like he could do with a big nice juicey steak!

  • meats eaters deserve to be imprisoned, if not worse

eating meat is what perverts and murderers do

  • United Nations - 300 million tons of meat needed

Worldwide, the global meat trade is concentrated in few major markets. Expansion of meat marketing mainly hypermarkets and supermarkets are increasing meat retailing, which in turn is increasing demand.

In terms of consumption, Asia-Pacific constitutes the largest as well as fastest growing regional market for Fresh Meat. Though vegetarianism is the current fad in the West, the Asian market, where the green revolution began, is turning to meat!

  • I find it funny, people fart too you know. I thought Paul's song was Too Many People. Maybe he should listen to his own music. Really people the bottom line is population control. Less people means less need for meat, cars and other things.

  • @caulinrocker Boring.

  • Argentina's president has recommended pork as an alternative to Viagra, saying she spent a satisfying weekend with her husband after eating the barbecued meat.

"I've just been told something I didn't know, that eating pork improves your sex life," President Cristina Fernandez said to leaders of Argentina's pig farming industry.

  • @caulinrocker I've got an idea..bummer boy...off,fuk..mother.

  • Bugger mondays, I'll go the whole week. I don't eat red meat or chicken just wish I could give up seafood and say I'm 100% vego. But doing my part with the red meat and chicken front for the minute.

  • Kelly Osborne IS cattle.!

  • Fuck off macca.

  • @walshfan2470 intelligent argument

  • @tegid699 Thank you.

  • Climate change is from geo-engineering with HAARP and scalar weapons. Nothing more. Stop believing their lies.

  • Jordanian PETA member Amina Tariq was arrested yesterday in Jabal Amman province. Public Security officials broke up the crowd and arrested both Tariq and ubiquitous PETA agitator Ashley Fruno . Rreaction from the Muslim locals was negative. Ahmed Thibani said he was angry after learning that the activists stopped traffic in order to save animals from reaching his kitchen. 'I work two jobs to make sure there is meat on the table at least once a week,' he said. 'You want me to give that up?'

  • The UN Food and Agriculture Organization report in 2006 Livestock's Long Shadow, has been shown by Dr Frank Mitloehner, Ph.D from University of California. That the UN report was flawed, his presentation said that giving cows a bum rap is not only scientifically inaccurate, but also distracts society from embracing effective solutions to global climate change.

Pierre Gerbe of the UN Food and Ag Organization (FAO) and one of the 2006 report's authors, admits that the comparison was flawed.

  • how is it better for the enviroment meats good for you u need protein VEGETARIANS!!!!!!! look at cheetas thay eat meat if you torture the animal to kill thats different it is mean to torture animals thay should just cut of there heads quik and painlessly for food. I CANT BELEIVE IT PAUL MCCARTNEYS A VEGETARIAN AND HIS SON AND NOW YOKO!!! JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!! MEATS GOOD FOR YOU PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!! VEGETARIANS ARE TRYING TO MAKE US BE VEGETARIAN WELL WE CAN BE WHAT WE WANT!!!!!

  • i miss the beatles. i wish they didnt break up. they were awesome. ringo and paul are the only ones left...... :)

  • Being a vegetarian is not a diet it is away of life, I have been one now for 2 years and I feel so much better (health wise) since I have stopped eating meat. if you want to carry on eating meat then carry on, but don't criticise other people that don't eat meat. Kelly is right the mass production of animals in this country is ridiculous. P.m is asking for you not to eat on one day of the week, not a bloody life time.

  • Kelley Osbourne, the high school drop-out and queen of nepotism, is suddenly a spokesperson for vegetarianism and global warming? I trust her opinion about as much as I trust my dog's. I respect Paul b/c he was a vegan before it was trendy (can't believe diets have become 'trendy'). Humans are omnivorous for a reason, folks. If we'd relied on only veggies and nuts during our evolution as a species we'd have either gone extinct from malnourishment or devolved into dimwitted mutants.

  • i dont eat meat on thursdays, looks like now also monday

  • The UN Food and Agriculture Organization report in 2006 Livestock's Long Shadow, has been shown by Dr Frank Mitloehner, Ph.D from University of California. That the UN report was flawed, his presentation said that giving cows a bum rap is not only scientifically inaccurate, but also distracts society from embracing effective solutions to global climate change.

Pierre Gerbe of the UN Food and Ag Organization (FAO) and one of the 2006 report's authors, admits that the comparison was flawed.

  • @waratahNSW I've seen several of those kinds of reports. Thank you for the information.

  • tomorrows monday!

  • KNUCKLE- HEADS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @fcontitwo Why don't the dumb ass Libs Stop killing Babies. They are against killing animals for food. Now they claim life stock gives off green house gas. LOL

  • @bluegrasssingingman live - stock

  • Cattle grazing systems on native grassland in the northern United States are reducing greenhouse gases, a new study reports.

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) researchers set out to get a local perspective on European conclusions that managed grasslands are greenhouse gas sinks—(although when methane and nitrous oxide emissions were taken into account, the greenhouse gas balance in the European sites was closer to neutral).

  • Clearing the Air: Livestock’s Contribution to Climate Change, principle investigator Frank Mitloehner Ph.D associate professor and extension specialist in air quality from the University of California at Davis, said meat and milk production generates less greenhouse gas than most environmentalists claim and that the emissions figures were calculated differently for the meat sector than they were for the transport figures, resulting in an misleading analogy that truly confused the issue

  • Dr. Frank Mitloehner has documented a major flaw in a 2006 United Nations report about greenhouse gas emissions from livestock production. Today the BBC reports that the U.N. has taken notice. One of the authors of the 2006 Livestocks Long Shadow report now admits that its estimates comparing emissions from livestock farms with those from transportation are FLAWED. A favourite talking point of the vegan anti-meat activists has been shown to be based on Flawed estimates.

  • i probably eat meat 5 days a week lol but i dont think ill ever be a vegeterian because i need that stake once in a while lol but this free monday meat is a good idea...why not?

  • I don't tell any of you how to live. Kindly return the favor.

  • Some of us are vegetarian and we are not asking to change your complete lifestyle ... it's just one day a week ! If we can give our children a better legacy by not eating meat for one day : is that too much to ask for ? Think about thát and maybe those who are against won't have so difficult to adapt ?....

  • Would you eat meat every day for a month if we did it for a year?

    Just wondering...

  • @kameleoninteriors How the hell do you know that this anti meat rhetoric is a positive legacy for our children? Do you have a degree in nutritional science? Any background in anthropology, human development, medicine or statistics? Our modern ethics and values have only been around for a few decades. Asserting that vegetarianism is a positive long term goal for the entire human species is simply naive and incredibly arrogant. Oprah was promoting a potentially lethal liquid diet back in the 90s

  • You guys should not make jokes of serious subjects. Don´t you realise we are in the same boat? People who don´t care about people should go to hell instead of making others life a hell. Paul is a good heart and I support MeatFreeMonday compaign. Long life Paul!

  • @musicseverything Yeah, and I gave you a thumbs up brother, but looking at how drastically fucked up the hair dos and all for some of the celebs are evolving, I think this is good for awareness, but not for doing.

  • if what hes saying is true ,,,then everyone should eat more animals...all you can ..eat them till there is no more.. they'll stop farting or whatever they are suppose to be doing..and kelley osbourne who could take that seriously..so save the earth eat meat

  • @roughridersatv how old are you? They will raise other over and over. Eat more, they prroduce more meat. It's an industry. Eat them all until our earth die?

  • I might buy some of his self-promo more if he reduced the amount of emissions himself from his bloated world tours and private jets...

    Please.

  • i think your doing the right thing , more beef and pork for the rest of us

  • @roughridersatv More heart attacks for you too.

  • @roughridersatv Sounds great. Let's have a BBQ! :-)

  • I think this is very important. If no so much for the global warming thing, for the millions of animals that live their whole lives suffering and die with no dignity. Of course, this is besides the ones @themindminder mentions, which we indirectly kill and f*#% up.

So actually I think this initiative has a lot to do with what @schwarzblatt said - minimizing/eliminating. I mean, everyone eating less meat is not as "good" as no meat-eating at all, but at least it's pretty easier to accomplish.

  • Does anyone know if McCartney is a vegetarian or vegan....?

  • i'm fairly certain he's just a vegetarian.

  • Another monday gone and guess what...Still no free meat! What a dickhead.

  • i remember this very moment. I was standing right to left of the BBC cameraman at 0:05. after their short interview was over i shook Pauls hand

  • The irony is that John and Yoko invested most of their money in cows back in the 70s. You can hear John talk about it at the end of his song Dear Yoko.

  • Imagine the gas Ozzy was letting off back in the day.

  • Will there be "ANY FREEDOM" left by the time the "LIMOSINE SOCIALIST" finish???.....thanks....peace!!

  • I take it Osborne is a vegan

  • Meat free every day :)

  • I love being vegan. I just hope someday (at the very least) soon there is a vegan option at every restaurant one goes to. Traveling and eating well in Japan was nearly impossible.

  • @schwarzblatt

I used to be a vegan, but I backpacked around Australia working on fruit and nut farms. Shooters are employed to shoot birds and animals who dare to venture too close to the trees. Native lizards and other animals die slow agonizing deaths after being sprayed with toxic insecticides and fertalizers. The roads are littered with nocturnal animals run over by trucks taking the produce to the cities.

There is no such thing as a vegan.

    Buddism 101, everything is interconnected.

  • @themindmender

You're predicating the idea of veganism as a lifestyle of absolute perfection. I understand the point you're trying to make but really the deal with veganism as I live it is minimizing suffering as well as I can rather than eliminating. Just because there's collateral animal death in the harvesting of produce doesn't mean I want to double down on that by consuming flesh from animals that are imprisoned and often times tortured their entire lives until death.

  • @themindminder God might be inside us. The earth is a mistake of evil. We can make it a better place with the help of God.

    I think Gnostics' belief?

  • Comment removed

  • So everyone thinks that if we don't eat meat on Mondays that farmers will stop processing meat on that day? You want to cut down on pollution? Stop blaming it on the US and start telling China and India to stop polluting the entire planet.

  • Hare Krishna from Denmark.

  • animal farts and celebrities speaking !

produce far too much CO2 !

kill them both and have a steak dinner with vegetables ( celebrities ) !

cows produce a lot of shit and celebrities talk a lot of shit !

climate scientists make up shit, for money, so elites can tax you more, for fuck all !

and its all on television ! 49.99 a month !

its time to throw the goggle box out of the window !

bono and bob geldof will be next !

    put money on it !

    i give up !

  • To right - We need to have a beer together!

  • Animals such as cows can only contribute to global warming because the species has been bred to such freakishly high levels by means of artificial insemination in order to satisfy meat demand.

  • @Yieri Olso they contribute to the biggest holocaust in history.

  • LOVE IT!!!

I've been meat-free for four years, never looked back and never felt better!

    P.S

vegetarianism is not a list of "don'ts " it a good feeling (and flavors) that you gain.

  • @Revolutionl968 I totally agree!

  • @Revolutionl968 can u drink milk, eat cheese and yogurt ..just asking

  • Comment removed

  • @pinkstarlite09 If you're Ovo-lacto vegetarian Yes you can drink milk, eat eggs, cheese, yogurt and other dairy products.

Not fish, nor meat and nor poultry.

  • It would be great to see farmers being involved in this campaign and taking their knowledge, ideas on what to grow in the uk which can be passed on to chefs who can use their creative skills to come up with more veggie recipes to tempt us all. Most food is created around meat and its just going to take chefs to shift their talent and conditioning on to creating dishes without it. They will probably make dishes that will be just as good, if not even better. A real chef should be able to do it.

  • Born on a farm, I was 24 before going veggie. Missed it not a day since, although i am not too strict. It should be fun, like Paul's message shows. Simply a mature decision, and a healthier lifestyle as well.

  • Thanks for your post!

  • I Love animals and stuff but i was raised to eat meat, the sad thing really is the meat industry will keep making as long as others keep eating, so we need to take care of the problems with the meat industry the whole pollution thing that paul was speaking of, i respect what they're trying to accomplish for sure!

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting this video!

    Go Green! Go Vegan!

  • Who cares, the world is ending in 2012!!!

    (JK-sarcasm you guys...)

  • Everybody who really understands the benefit of this action should add a meatfree tuesday and wednesday too :-)

  • July/August 2009 (Macca's summer tour):

"The adoring fans all sat in their chairs and munched down on burgers, chicken nuggets, and hot dogs, as they excitedly waited for their vegetarian idol to appear."

    :(

How bout doin' away with all that meat being sold and eaten at your concerts, Macca?

--I bet, if he really tried, he could even provide his fans some meat free options, a la pretzels or Veggie and Hummus Dip snack trays...! /: )

  • Love Paul and love Yoko ..... i just wonder if i told Paul McCartney back in 1963 that in 36 years time he would be running campaign to stop people eating meat on a Monday - would he have just laughed at me?

  • you were there? that's awesome! i would've loved to have attended that! its a great cause, we should have more than just one meat free day a week...so now i have to ask, did you meet Paul??

  • i was there

  • who cares?

  • Great Video. Even meatless one day 1 week can make a big impact on your own healthy and live a longer life. You will looks better and younger!

Plus it will help this world a healthier place, for ourselves and for our future generation!! Go Meatless one day a week.

  • Just do it! I've been a vegetarian for 2 year (I'm 16) and I think it's great! And I'm helping the environment :D One day a week won't kill you :)

  • ok fck no air conditioning is 121 F wear i live no offense :)

  • Us Catholics have been not eating meat on Friday's for decades. WTF?

  • Fish is meat....they were living and breathing via gills.

  • True but not everyone is catholic

  • i would do this... but im already a full-time veggie pauls ;D

  • I will tell you what is scary, is why there are so many people that are are so stupid.

Livestock simply exist in the CO2 cycle they take in Co2 eating plants, then return it to the atmosphere.

The real culprit is burning coal and oil, Co2 that has been locked away for millions of years under the earth it is dug up and burnt returning safely stored Co2 back into the atmosphere.

I bet you wont see these high fliers giving up heating there house or their cars or flying around in plains, Hypocrites

  • I'm not contradicting you, but since so many people eat meat around the world, greenhouses gases are released through the TRANSPORT of livestock/meat products. It's not the animals themselves per say (though in the video some of the celebrities seem to be saying that) that create the greenhouse gases.

  • @waratahNSW Not to mention the carcinogens they release. Also the petroleum by-products are made into other products that release dioxins in the air, and go into the food and water supply, including vegetables. The average human eating a regular diet eats about 400-500% more dioxins than what is considered safe levels. Dioxins are carcinogens. Benzene in gasoline emits a carcinogen. Many chemicals in cleaning and hygiene products can lead to damage to the aveoli in the lungs.

  • Yeah is not hard to be a veggie....

is so sad that people still eat meat..

Paulie inspired me too,to be a veggie...

The people should be less selfish and stop to eat animals for them pleasure...

    Long life to the veggies!

  • that is right, im a veggie.

    hence my name

  • If Paul hadn't inspired me to go veggie already, I'd be taking part in this. Going veggie is a lot easier than it sounds! Thanks, Paulie!

  • Yes, it is actually. And, I grew up in beef land...Oklahoma. I did it.
