hello ppl.. can some one help me.. i got an 360 and i want a desend wheel with force feedback.. and with descend padles... i dont need a shifter... becaus i will be shifting with the wheel..
is this package a good option???
Forza Motorsport CSR wheel value pack can someone help? (A) :P
@namelesssnitchy Yes it is and its the best one for the buck. Logitech wheels do not work on XBOX, but if you happen to have the pedals from the G25/G27 set, Fanatec makes an adapter cable for it. I have several friends whom have purchased said value pack and they ALL are very satisfied. I am looking at getting the Elite CSR wheel with the G25 pedal adapter and CSR shifter or the value pack w/ shifter cause I'm tired of breaking the POS MS wheels. Drifting really tears them up.
@kickwagon Quality sim racing gear comes at a premium. My shifter cost $200 and my pedals $800. If that wheel is really good, then $500 is a pretty nice deal.
@82coxy Money to burn? Not so much. I just know how to save. Crazy? IDK. That's a very relative term. The bottom line is my CST pedals and SST Shifter are great and I'm happy with my purchases.
Wow. What I've learned from this video... Xbox has terrible options for wheels and it's extremely confusing trying to find one that fits... PS3 has got this shit on lock.
the diff is, you can spend 500 bucks (if you want, i have a Driving force gt for 70 bucks that is fine) to get a wheel/pedals, and drive f1's/supercars not to mention racing with friends, irl you would need 100's of thousands to do that.
why cant they just make the g27 compatible with forza!!!??? spend 500 dollars on a wheel, 200 on pedals, and 100 on shifter... thats 800 freekin dollars. you can get a REAL car with that kind of money! it would be a crap car, but it still would work!
i feel like going on a killing spree whenever i read this kinda stuff. you get cheapass awesome cars for all tastes there, and over here we have to pay a minimum of $6k for the crappiest used car possible.
$15k for a new but unsafe, raw plastic piece of shit with a 1.4 liter engine barely over 100hp.
and if we want anything remotely decent (over 200hp stock, that is), we need to be ready to dish out at least $50k.
@sk8terdude155 Well when you blow the head gasket(and you will), Try saving your money, get an education, get a real money job, then buy a better sports car. And all while your busting your ass to make that grade, you have got a CSR wheel to keep that thrill in check while your scootering to class. This is a realistic way of getting that dream car with your own earned money.
Most people that are complaining about price play Forza for fun. The people that spend the money on a good wheel are not only playing Forza/GT5, but real race sims like iRacing.
I've modded my (discontinued) XBOX wheel to use a clutch pedal from a second set of XBOX pedals, sequential shifter from the Logitech G25, and a handbrake from an 1985 Toyota MR2 with a tension bracket and heavy duty spring tensioner. I've been using this set for years drifting in Forza. When I heard of the CSR Elite, I emailed Fanatec about a handbrake and they replied "they don't have any plans to make one at this time" its still worth getting one, but again I will have to mod it myself.
@DickVanPaiton Well I'm serious about emailing them from the contact us section of the Fanatec website. Try it yourself. I emailed them back in December and that's the answer I got "no plans at this time". Sad that's what they told me, but I seriously doubt I'm the only one who asked. Where did you learn of these plans to do it or being in the works? Where can I find this contact and ask some of my own questions? I could always just modify into it with a handbrake from any car I like.
I frequently check 911wheel.com which is the blog of Thomas (CEO of Fanatec). Every now and then you can read about a handbrake product but as far as I understood the hints there are some products which should be released before we can get that thing.
@DickVanPaiton Google "ARC Team" and you'll find a very nice handbrake made by a team of professional sim racing enthusiasts. I just checked the price on their website and it is €99,99 and €149,99 respectively for the DIY and Standard (assembled) product. It seems very solid with a sturdy aluminium construction using Hall sensors and a gas spring. Or you can buy the $400 FREX handbrake which looks a.w.e.s.o.m.e., albeit ridiculously expensive for a handbrake.
@Tweepit They are nice yes, but its not difficult to make one of your own and use a handbrake from a real car. You can mount it Vertically too! I use the handbrake out of an 85 MR2, mounted vertically. The whole process costed around $12 and a few hours of work. You can design your own cabinet or placement for it.
don't be mad you're broke..get off your ass and get a job..these people spend their time and money making the products and you expect it to be the same price as a chinese Madcatz controller.. whiny broke bitch.
@impossible Haters gonna hate. I worked my ass of through school and did the footwork to get a great paying job, and not live on someone else(sugar mamas) dime. I built my own drift car if real life and competed too, but I still love playing on Forza 4 with the sim wheel. BTW That matcatz controller is a pile of bloody diarrhea. I got one in a fit of rage cause I broke my MS wheel(turning to fast in drift) bought it at Fry's Elec, set it up, I plugged it in, a loud pop/smoke. Dead Wheel WTF!!
$500 for the csr elite wheel ridiculous! $250 for the csr is steep enough, which im probably going to have to buy due to limited wheels for the xbox. but man... some things just cant be justified, like carbon fiber on a play set. weight reduction ftl!
Just check the information you find about the games themselves. A game must support FF games to make use of such wheels. I doubt that it would make sense to play GTA 4 with such a controller.
@boban34 not exactly, have you used a CSR elite? i suppose you`ve used a T500RS since you`re bragging about it but the elite is 100 dollars cheaper and its systems are being compared to the ECCI, and the T500RS is not and if you get the elite with the CSR pedals and the prosche shifters you spend 10 dollars more yes, but you`re getting high end equipment that works on the PC,PS3 and the xbox 360 so you`re paying a but more for the extra compatability option, besides the T500 shifter is $150!
@eddysugarkid No, the Fanatec pedals and shifters only work with Fanatec wheels on the X-box (on the PC you can combine it with any USB pedal set). You can though use a Logitech G25/G27 pedal set with a Fanatec wheel on the X-Box using an adapter.
@BikeTrial1995 im asking people for advice, which one to buy. I want to be sure to get most out of my money. and why do you say "its your opinion!", i dont have an opinion on those two products, thats why I ask for help. and its a common question for a person wanting some help regarding what to buy. grow up! your comment was just so meaningless and stupid.
@Uare2MuchRetarded A wheel is far superior for realism. As a gimmic the Kinect is cool but i dont think you can even hold your arms up in from of you for 1-2 hours while driving? Would be a great workout though :)
I have Forza 4 collectors edition but because of the lack of wheel support, all my future racing games will be purchased for PC and PS3. Logitech G27 is a brilliant wheel so i will purchase Dirt 3 and F1 2011 on Pc and PS3. Microsoft has already lost most of its racing gamers to PS3 because of the lack of wheel support and fanatec prices are ridiculous. Why cant microsoft team up with Logitech to make a quality affordable wheel for the masses.
I wish xbox was compatible with my G27 wheel. That's a great wheel in my opinion. A lot cheaper too, and it is mostly metal, and some very hard, thick plastic.
@wastnTIMEwastnTIME 8 bit = less interim steps available for each pedal between min and max position. 8 bit is like 256 and 10 bit is like 4.000+. Large numbers but you wont really notice a big difference while driving.
@TheRighteous123 Thanks bro. I just wish they had more bundle options for the Fanatec Wheels. They have the Forza with the pedals for $300 but you get no shifter, of course we are going to want the shifter right? Why have pedals with a clutch but no shifter? I wish I could get the GT2 wheel with the CRS pedals for $300. Fanatec knows how to take your money. Make you buy everything piece by piece. And there are no xbox competitive wheels. The MadCatz wheels and pedals are a joke.
@wastnTIMEwastnTIME Yes, occasionally they have some value packs but not always. I have a GT2 wheel (its really good) with Clubsport pedals, just upgraded to the Elite wheel which is even better. I also use the CSR shifter which makes driving cars with manual transmission a pure joy. You can learn to do proper heel toe downshift blips etc with a setup like that and then easily do it in a real car! :)
Forza might be brilliant but seriously compared to gt5 it costs a small fortune to take full advantage of the game, In comparison a logitech dfgt wheel & a ps3 is all you need to enjoy Gran Turismo. Although the CSR Forza wheel does look awesome.
@Morphlett No..... dfgt leaves you craving quite a bit.... no clutch and that stupid sequential shifter.. its a nice start... but if you get serious about it... mannnnn nah... Im not even a hardcore player and i dont even like the dfgt... Im aiming for the thrustmaster t500
is there a number i can call to contact a US fantec rep? It's a pain contacting them in germany via email, and that could be a deciding factor in getting the clubsport wheel or not.
What is the wheel you showed momentarily thats like the CSR elite but it has the quick release and it was all black base. Thats the one im dying to get my hands on and cant find any info on lol
@evilgamers1 both are low compatibility.... id imagine a few NFS games and grid games.... we be your only choices... besides the two obvious forza and gt5....
@DickVanPaiton Not every wheel is compatible... The GT2 and CSR wheels are the only wheels supported by the 360 and made by fanatec... not everyone supports every system nor do every game designer support every racing wheel. Thats just the rule of life.. When buying a expensive wheel people ALWAYS say make sure it works with your game... period... I will say games you can count on are the codemaster games, FM/GT series, and the NFS shift series(doesn't work well)
i know this is a forza video, but could you guys make a review with the g27/g25 and gt5 spec 2.0 please? it is better or no now the ffb, death zone, etc?
Darin, Is their any chance for the csr club sport to be compatible with Xbox because i want the best for PC but also want to play forza 4? I think many people would agree.
I have the old wireless racing wheel and it's actually really good. Sure the pedals are a little spongy but the force feedback is excellent and it looks and feels really good to use. Unless you're really truly a 100% hardcore racer, I wouldnt spend any more than you can get one of these for
how do i change the brake pedal to accelerate on forza because the forza csr wheel thinks my brake pedal is and accelerator, i'm using the xbox racing wheel pedal adapter. or where can i get a pdf explaining how that blue inbuilt controller works.
No Xbox compatibility on the ClubSport wheel????? Damnit I wanted that BMW Wheel! Is the motor of the CSR Elite the same as the ClubSport? It looks the same design.
You think you guys could elaborate on the MS Speed Wheel? I'm having no luck finding any info.
BestBuy had the F4 demo set up with the wheel but the demo has no settings options. Can the wheel sensitivity/range be tweaked? Can the button mapping change? By default d-pad is the shifter, it's on the wrong side and the sequential motion is reversed. Would rather use that as a POV switch.
Speedwheel would be ideal for a Logitech user who currently has no Xbox option. That is, if it works properly.
We have driven a little with this wheel but not officially tested it yet. You can change the mapping between some pre sets in game. Not sure about the sensitivity but we will know pretty soon.
let me give you guys some advice that would help you guys make a lot more money..
make a dang wheel thats affordable for 99% of gamers, instead of making a wheel that only 1% of racing gamers would/can buy! For example, the ps3 has the driving force gt which is an amazing wheel i bought for $130. But i cant use that on xbox. I guarantee you guys would make more money selling
cheaper wheels.
Guy on the left says theres no plans so far in making a cheaper wheel? Big mistake, very big mistake..
@MilkyWayMan76 Im in college, but enjoy playing racing games once in a while. And what I said is still a good point. Plus even if I had the money Im not going to blow 400-$600 on a damn steering wheel, when a damn good one can be made for 100-$150. honestly anyone who does that is mentally challenged, or rich as fuck
You got a job as a Fanatec rep? That's interesting. I am guessing you are going to recuse yourself from reviewing any Fanatec product? (even though they make the best wheels and are compatible with usually 3 systems) I hope you still review Fanatec stuff actually. 60$ for one game...300-600$ for a wheel...Oh yeah still need a large screen TV....XBOX/PS3/PC....and if you plan on really doing it a rig (from 300-5000$). And you wanted to just sit down and play. Getting to real car money.
"needless to say, working for fanatec it probably woundnt be too fair if I was working on the show reviewing either fanatec or anything in competition with fanatec, so from hereon out I wont be on the show reviewing Anything hardware related, but, I will be on the show for twisr, software reviews, because thats not in competition with fanatec " Darin Gangi.
By referring to the features as "We" instead of "fanatec / they" is what gives you away ;)
@deanviall A review is an evaluation of a publication, a product or a service, such as a movie , video game, ... a piece of hardware like a car, home appliance, or computer; ... In addition to a critical evaluation, the review's author may assign the work a rating to indicate its relative merit. More loosely, an author may review current events, trends, or items in the news. A compilation of reviews may itself be called a review. Wiki
I ordered my stuff over a month ago the csr wheel, pedals, cables, wheel stand, shifter. They have yet to ship my stuff and THEY DON"T RESPOND TO EMAILS customer service is atrocious.
@simracingtonight ...And listen, I'm not looking to start some internet debate with you guys or create some sort of bad blood-- I LIKE you guys and your show. But I think you're perspective on this is skewed. We can agree to disagree. I was just offering my insight and observation. You're free to take it or leave it. Cheers to your show's ongoing success. I'll still be watching.
@simracingtonight You're really making a disingenuous semantic distinction between a "buyer's guide" and a "review," because the end result of both is to provide instruction and insight into whether someone should invest their money into said product. Listen, like I said, I really enjoy your show, and I respect the fact that you do your best to provide the sim-racing market with as comprehensive coverage as you can with as much personality and enthusiasm as you do. But there's still a conflict.
Some people..lol.. To all that are so concerned about my appearance in this video. Please point to one part that we say which is best, or which you should buy. We talk about every wheel on the market with Force feedback, even a few without and all some of you can do is pick apart the fact that Im on the show with "wheels". It's only a guide for YOU to make a buyers decision. We're showing you whats out there. Funny how no one mentions the "Fanatec rep" talking about other options. - Darin
@simracingtonight Great video by the way does the new wheel have those metal chopsticks for the shifter and also the old GT2 wheel the the damper and spring settings only work for the ps3 will the new csr have damping and spring for the 360? thanks, Sam
@simracingtonight Thanks, Darin. I really like that you guys are sponsored by iRacing yet you still give great coverage to its competitors like rFactor 2. Can't ask for any more than that.
could you guy do a video showing your setting for forza 4 and how to calibrate shifter and can't get my clutch to work on my elite pedal it does not show it active on my forza option control screen only clutch on steering wheel seem to work thank you guys.

I want to be sure to get most out of my money. and why do you say "its your opinion!", i dont have an opinion on those two products, thats why I ask for help. and its a common question for a person wanting some help regarding what to buy. grow up! your comment was just so meaningless and stupid.
Uare2MuchRetarded 2 months ago

TheEnzo2910 2 months ago 2
I wish xbox was compatible with my G27 wheel. That's a great wheel in my opinion. A lot cheaper too, and it is mostly metal, and some very hard, thick plastic.

what does 8 bit and 10 bit of resolution mean for the pedals?
wastnTIMEwastnTIME 3 months ago in playlist More videos from simracingtonight
@wastnTIMEwastnTIME
It basically is how precise the pedals are.
With a higher resolution you have more "steps" between no gas and full gas so you can modulate the throttle more.
WangunStyleways 2 months ago
@wastnTIMEwastnTIME 8 bit = less interim steps available for each pedal between min and max position. 8 bit is like 256 and 10 bit is like 4.000+. Large numbers but you wont really notice a big difference while driving.
TheRighteous123 2 months ago
@TheRighteous123 Thanks bro. I just wish they had more bundle options for the Fanatec Wheels. They have the Forza with the pedals for $300 but you get no shifter, of course we are going to want the shifter right? Why have pedals with a clutch but no shifter? I wish I could get the GT2 wheel with the CRS pedals for $300. Fanatec knows how to take your money. Make you buy everything piece by piece. And there are no xbox competitive wheels. The MadCatz wheels and pedals are a joke.
wastnTIMEwastnTIME 2 months ago
@wastnTIMEwastnTIME Yes, occasionally they have some value packs but not always. I have a GT2 wheel (its really good) with Clubsport pedals, just upgraded to the Elite wheel which is even better. I also use the CSR shifter which makes driving cars with manual transmission a pure joy. You can learn to do proper heel toe downshift blips etc with a setup like that and then easily do it in a real car! :)
TheRighteous123 2 months ago
Fanatec prizes are CRAZY. You can get a car for a little more money. Microsoft really sucks for not supporting normal prized wheels like PC and PS3.
MrPopular22 3 months ago
Forza might be brilliant but seriously compared to gt5 it costs a small fortune to take full advantage of the game, In comparison a logitech dfgt wheel & a ps3 is all you need to enjoy Gran Turismo. Although the CSR Forza wheel does look awesome.
Morphlett 3 months ago
@Morphlett No..... dfgt leaves you craving quite a bit.... no clutch and that stupid sequential shifter.. its a nice start... but if you get serious about it... mannnnn nah... Im not even a hardcore player and i dont even like the dfgt... Im aiming for the thrustmaster t500

is there a number i can call to contact a US fantec rep? It's a pain contacting them in germany via email, and that could be a deciding factor in getting the clubsport wheel or not.

evilgamers1 3 months ago
@evilgamers1 both are low compatibility.... id imagine a few NFS games and grid games.... we be your only choices... besides the two obvious forza and gt5....
Texarmageddon 2 months ago
@Texarmageddon
What are you talking about? Which game is not compatible? All PC games are which support FF wheels and all on PS3 and Xbox360 too.
DickVanPaiton 1 month ago
@DickVanPaiton Not every wheel is compatible... The GT2 and CSR wheels are the only wheels supported by the 360 and made by fanatec... not everyone supports every system nor do every game designer support every racing wheel. Thats just the rule of life.. When buying a expensive wheel people ALWAYS say make sure it works with your game... period... I will say games you can count on are the codemaster games, FM/GT series, and the NFS shift series(doesn't work well)

I have the old wireless racing wheel and it's actually really good. Sure the pedals are a little spongy but the force feedback is excellent and it looks and feels really good to use. Unless you're really truly a 100% hardcore racer, I wouldnt spend any more than you can get one of these for

That is, if it works properly.
iam27paul 4 months ago
@iam27paul

Getting to real car money.

deanviall 4 months ago
@deanviall A review is an evaluation of a publication, a product or a service, such as a movie , video game, ... a piece of hardware like a car, home appliance, or computer; ... In addition to a critical evaluation, the review's author may assign the work a rating to indicate its relative merit. More loosely, an author may review current events, trends, or items in the news. A compilation of reviews may itself be called a review. Wiki

AngusScrim 4 months ago

- Darin
