I have one of these and love it. But I do need to use a glove to use it and use it quickly. It only takes me, at most about 10-20 minutes to put waves in my hair. And my hair is very long (past my bra strap).

seperate your hair in to 2 and then from each side do it into like 3 or 4 parts. makes it so much easier than leaving it all down and guessing where to curl next. soooo good if u have thin hair (i do). like all barrel burling this hair lasts for a few days (i dont wash hair everyday) so i love it!!

the best flat iron is by Jose Eber the most famous hair stylist in the wold got it and i love it. dont buy unknown brands the warranty wont work on them and they brake easily. got it on eBay for a good price don't pay more then u need.

As for length of time, she curls really quickly, for a beginner you would be struggling a lot (I don't think burnt fingers is a problem because these curlers with no tongs always come with heat resistant gloves). So for her it's probs about 30 mins.
