  • nice 12 string Sean, and great location for video!!!!!!

  • so whats this all about?

  • haha nice

  • As much as I appreciated your demonstration of a solid grasp of asymmetrical meters in recent commentary on your Myspace site, I equally as perplexed as to how you would at the same time lack the knowledge needed to tune your guitar.

  • The tuning is open C, apparently you tried to play it. Tune your guitar C,G,C,G,C,E and it will work, but keep in mind the harmonics are all over the place.

  • Yeah, I noticed that. Very risky! In terms of theory, tuning to such open intervals is bound to sound out of tune depending on how you construct the chords.

Also, you're outside. lol. That probably has something to do with it. The intonation actually fluctuated a bit throughout. You've got some balls to attempt a song with that tuning. Do you usually play with this tuning or for just that one piece? The strings may react if they're not accustomed to being tuned as such on a regular basis.

  • dropping the tuning on a 12 string causes intonation problems which can be fudged with tweener tuning, but as the video description says, this was shot on a mountain top at sunset with the temperature dropping like a stone. As the temperature drops the strings go sharp.
